After all the discussion that Heroes has had in the "What you're watching" thread, I figured it deserved its own topic. If the mods decide that it shouldn't have its own thread, then they can close it. Heroes is an NBC drama about ordinary people who find out that they have extraordinary abilities. They range from flight to phasing through objects to the ability to bend time and space. The show follows these people as they try to uncover why they have these powers as well as showing what they do with them. It airs every Monday at 9:00pm Eastern time. In my opinion, Heroes is one of the best shows on television right now. It gives you just enough information to keep you satiated while holding back enough info to force you to come back for more. It's like Lost before it became inane. Godsend was the latest episode which showed Nikki/Jessica (who has the power of super strength along with a split personality) get thrown into a padded room, Sylar still in the clutches of Primatech Paper, the introduction of The Invisible Man, Hiro trying to get his sword, and the return of the Nuclear Man, Ted. This episode, or a bit of hype for the episode, proved a theory that I posted on here correct. Two characters, Ted and Matt, had been abducted by a man known only as HRG (who is currently unknown to be good or evil). They came back from the experience with the memories of their days in captivity erased, their powers on the fritz, and a pair of marks on their neck. I theorized that when Matt and Ted were abducted something HRG did caused their powers to overload and become stronger, to the point where they couldn't control them. Now, Heroes not only has a television show to continue its story but also online graphic novels on the official webpage. In these novels, Heroes has introduced a female character who was formerly in the Israeli military named Hana. What does this have to do with my theory? Check out this clip. So, now that my babbling is done, I'd like to see what everyone else thinks of Heroes, one of the best shows on television.

I have to agree that the show is awesome! It is very well done. The only problem I am having now is that Heroes is on against 24! What am I going to watch? What do I tape and watch later? ...yeah, I'm not still not in the DVR club so I have to tape things...

Because you can watch Heroes online but can't do the same with 24, I'd say watch 24 live and catch Heroes on the Internet

Did anyone catch last night's episode?
I'd heard rumors about the "Claire's Dad" revelation and immediately jumped on the proper bandwagon. It was awesome to see that the idea was right, especially since Jango was absolutely certain that it would be Linderman. Also, Claire's mom's (can't think of the name!) powers are awesome. I'm now hoping that we'll have either an ice character or an electric character to play off of.
Also, my theory in the first post is wrong! Turns out that the weird needle thing is actually a tracking device, commonly used to track wildlife. Interesting...
Finally, Claude is the freaking man! I can't wait until he confronts HRG.

Claude is the man! A very rude, self centered man, but a very compelling character nonetheless.
I think the biggest news to reveal itself recently is that Peter retains all of the absorbed powers even when the "hosts" aren't around. Once he learns to control the powers that he has "learned" he is going to be one bad mama jama! Also, doesnt this mean he can do everything Sylar can do?
*edit* Just had another thought... Along the same lines as before. The retaining of absorbed powers must be where the prophetic dreams come from. Its a side effect of the powers absorbed from Isaac.

I'm actually not so sure about this. In the first episode, Peter dreamed that he would fly and he did. In one of his flying dreams, he was flying with Simone's father Charles. Charles ends up dying in one of the later episodes. However, one of the last things he said to his daughter was that he had a dream that he flew with Peter. This was all before Peter ever met with Isaac.
So, I personally think that either Peter sapped a dream-based power from Simone's dad after all that time spent caring for him or it is another part of his power.
Also, I loved the scene where Peter suddenly had all the powers and started yelling about "it happening" before being socked in the face by Claude.
Finally, did anyone else notice Kaito Nakamura/George Takai's license plate number? My dad spotted it right away. It's NCC-1701, the registry number of another one of the vehicles Takai has ridden in.

That license plat thing is awesome! I wish I would have caught that.

Doh![/homer] Should have checked the episode guide better. Still, it doesn't explain how he shared the dream with Peter (Peter also dreamed of flying with Charles if I remember correctly).

Yeah, you are right about that... Its almost like hes been around that Indian dream manipulating kid... But as far as I know her hasnt. So, if Peter ever comes in contact with Niki, will he get a multiple personality with super strength? I keep trying to add up all the powers that Peter should now have.... Theres flying, future painting, regeneration (fast healing), mind reading, telekinesis, invisibility.... And what ever other powers Sylar has stolen Im not aware of. He hasnt met Hiro yet has he?... I dont remember them meeting.

It still isn't very clear if Jessica is a split personality (in which case Peter definitely wouldn't absorb her), a side-effect to Niki's power (I doubt it but possible), a ghost possessing Niki through some beyond the grave super power, or a sort of long distance mind control/body swap (assuming Jessica isn't actually dead). In case one he wouldn't go schizo, in case two he would, and in case three I have absolutely no clue what would happen. Case four would be interesting though. Would Peter absorb the mind control/body swap power by being near someone affected or would he have to be near Jessica herself?
As far as powers that Peter can access, we can safely assume that Sylar has some sort of freezing power (episode 2) and possibly a superspeed ability (Homecoming and Distractions showed that Sylar can move wicked fast but it might just be part of his telekinesis). Finally, Peter should have access to time manipulation since he did meet Future Hiro.
Also, anyone else think that Sylar should never ever try to do a southern accent ever again?

Hey everybody I finally came back to this site, some of you might remember me some maybe not buy it's good to be back!!!
OOO and i love Heroes, really got sucked into the show. didn't surprise me much that Nathan Petrelli was Claire's Father. (was anyone else surprised?) That would make Peter her.......uncle!!! Oh and if I remember correctly i'm pretty sure Peter met Hiro..........wait he either met him or talked to him on the phone.........ya I think he just talked to him on the phone.(lol)
Also I think that Nikki is gonna turn evil, I just don't think she's ever gonna be able to control the split'personality thing. Kinda like the Hulk. and I think if Peter gets close to her his evil side will come out and he will get super strength also, but when he's not close to her i'm sure that power won't be good for him to remember....
And by the way Sylar does have super speedy powers (you could see that in last night's episode when clair's dad (not Nathan) came in with HRG and they shot him and he ran for it!)
what i'm still trying to comprehend tho is if Mika (nikki's son) will trun evil to, because so far we no his power is like techno watever u wanna call it and he stole money!!!! (that would be a sweet power to have for that reason lol) But Mika always seems so calm and devious, guess well find out next monday (Feb 12th)...

We don't know for certain if Nikki's power is at all related to her split personality. Heck, we don't even know if it IS a split personality. Last time I checked, alternate personalities don't have tattoos that appear when one personality is in control and disappear when another one takes over.
On another note, I'd bet money that the Hiro/Dinosaur painting still hasn't come to pass. Every other painting has had the exact scene depicted happen. The painting has Hiro holding an unsheathed sword while the part in the museum he was just holding the sheath. That leads me to believe that Hiro really will face a dinosaur at some point in the future.
Finally, Micah is an awesome character. Cool, collected, and technokinetic. Hopefully he'll actually be able to do something in the near future rather than just steal money and fix a telephone.

lol ya Mika is pretty sweet and I hope he becomes someone important
Oh and my take on the dino painting is that when Hiro was in the museum and turned to see the dino that was the scene in the painting, but when Hiro found out the sword was fake he is still keepin the painting and tryin to find the sword.
I really don't believe the sword has anything to do with his powers, and I think he will eventually learn that and keep the sword for a defense against the bad heroes
O and i forget who said it, but when Peter is able to control all the powers he will be better than Sylar because he will have every power and he won't have to kill people to get it!!!
Does anyone think Sylar might turn good??? Me and my da were having little arguments on that, Sylar may turn good is my take on the situation but who knows how long it will take before he snaps and starts killing more peopel for their powers...

I do think the t-rax/hiro painting and the scene in the museum is one and the same. The only thing that wasnt identical was the background... If I recall correctly it had like a streaking lighting effect? I think that would be an artistic interpretation on Isaac's part. But of course the real reason is that if the producers of the show had a museum looking background in the painting nobody would have been impressed and saying, "Oh my! Hiro is going to fight a dinosaur!" As for the sword, no it more than likely wouldnt have any real effect on Hiro's powers. I personally think his inability to help the waitress has caused his little block, its all psychological. But he thinks the sword will help, so in the end it probably will. I think Sylar going good is just a bright and shinny pipe dream. Hes a pure psychopath. The first thing he did when he escaped from the "paper factory" is get back to trying to find and kill Claire. The only way they are going to stop him is by killing him, or permanently restraining him in some manor... I really lean toward them having to kill him. I may be of a minority on this one... And the writers may in fact prove me wrong... But Mika's powers seem extremely lame, and somewhat useless. Who wouldnt rather be invisible, or be able to fly, or bend time and space? Manipulate electronics? Heh, maybe he could get my stupid old NES working again.

Peter and Hiro met.....Peter Petrelli, you look different without the scar.....My name is Hiro Nacarumaganutso (whatever), I come from the future with a message.
Oh, yeah, they met.
As for manipulating electronics, that would be great. Sure, I'd rather fly, but breaking into a supercomputer is cool too.
