OK, then what if one stood the box up so that it was aligned more vertically than horizontally? For instance, let's say you stood up an S1-S3 SW 3-pack and made it into a "skyscraper" - would that be satisfactory to your taste?

That would be closer to satisfactory. That would be a very oddly shaped and narrow skyscraper. I could see it being a 2 story triangular building, I'm not sure who would build one like that.
It's mostly a scale issue. The same one I have with the gunship, the thingypit is about the size of a clone troopers head.
The game is so kinetic, and real, and tangible... I don't see why I should have to imagine that a building is the appropriate size.

Dunno. I would have to see it to make a decision. I just know the ones for DCBL look goofy and out of place.

It's mostly a scale issue. The same one I have with the gunship, the thingypit is about the size of a clone troopers head. That's right - you were also arguing that an AT-AT should only be built to scale I'm fine with oddities in scale in games such as these, as long as the gameplay isn't impacted. In fact, it's often necessary to deal with such variations of scale for multiple reasons (see below). Hrm...let's see...how's about... 1) Materials cost for building something that's really "to scale" 2) Cost of transporting or shipping such a large item 3) Retailer shelf space 4) Feasibility of a consumer actually buying something so expensive 5) Difficulty in transporting such a thing home I dunno...to me, it's a game. I don't view it as terribly realistic, though it is kinetic and tangible, which is why I play it instead of SW Miniatures or other such games. Certain exaggerations are fine with me. That's why I don't complain about the size of the guns of the Wookiee paws - they've gotta be that size for the game to work. I see some of your point in terms of the actual building being somewhat too short even for gameplay purposes, but if it could just cover the head of a figure, I'd be fine with the scaling.

yeah, all good points. But I still don't like it Guns, projectiles, wookiee claws, and force push hands all have to be large, I'm generally ok with that. But I don't see a reason to make something like a building the same size as a car, when you could have just painted it like a car and called it a car...hmmm...they should make cars....jk. I think I've beat this dead horse pretty good for today, so I'll finish my points about the building with this: It's too small, I don't like it, and a lot of that is probably because these figures are not made by Hasbro, are not under the Attacktix brand, will not be Attacktix tournament legal, are likely not going to be based on the same 100 point system, are probably not going to have equivalent point values, were not developed by any of the people at Hasbro, are not going to spread the Attacktix brand, will not appear in a cross universe (intergalactic pack) special, wont have art by Design Devil, bring the possibility for Barbie Battleague (hey, it's Mattel, it could happen), probably wont be discussed in the same detail on this forum as Attacktix is, seems like IP theft, and...I'm going to guess they smell bad too....I can't prove it, but it is an assumption I'm going with until I can prove otherwise. (Die dead horse, die!) I suppose I just wish Hasbro had DC as well, it would be neat to have all the figures made by one company. (sigh)

I'm just hoping that they're about the same size as Tix, otherwise I might not buy them at all. If they are roughly the same, I'm so buying a ton and figuring out the mathamatical point corolation in order to incorporate them into Tix... odds are we'll see them (even if Mattel does get sued) before the new Tix... also, anyone see these guys at Comic-Con, haven't spotted them (or Tix) in a gallery yet and I've been gallery surfing since yesterday morning.

Do they have Tix Wheels? Gideon No, they don't - if they did, that would be immediate grounds for a patent infringement lawsuit from Hasbro. The Tix mechanism is a large part of what's unique about Attacktix as a game, and it's covered specifically in the patent.

They are the same size as our figures, they do not have a tix wheel or an identify markers. I was informed by a man who worked at Mattel that the figures are now just action figures and no longer a game. Kinda sad, but I was thinking that we should put together a team on the web forum to give those figures Attacktix stats, just for fun. Then once that is all compiled we can have a sheet to print out where people can glue on the labels for the figures. I thought it might help us have a little fun during the hiatus. Here are the figures. Video

His chest has a slit that sticks into that long "flight pole" and if you pull him back it flings him off, like Chirpa's Rock. I have NO idea how accurate this would be, but it looks a little silly.

I picked up a 2 Supermans at Mattel. They are a hoot. They are terribly innacurate, but still fun to launch your figure across the table. With a little "force flight" (kind of like "power striking with Chirpa or Hulk") I can get Superman to fly across the room. I can usually get him to hit the person I'm aiming at too. It's hard to hit a figure though. At close range, the spring is not taught enough to do any damage and he is hard to aim at a distance.

How very intriguing. I wish I were privy to the machinations that made it to be only an action figure set, rather than a game. I, too, would have liked to have seen the rules to see how those little cards would have been used - and to see similarities to and differences from Attacktix. It sounds like Supes would indeed be more like a tosser than a striker. Truth be told, I was always curious as to how they'd approximate striking actions.

I'd bet that just after the press release Hasbro determined how long it would take to get the line to market and at a keenly determined time had their fleet of lawyers send over a finely crafted Cease and Desist brief claiming patent infringement on a number of counts. This time would be aimed at hurting Mattel the most by having to retool existing equipment and revamp marketing, packaging, and all ancillary items. Ouch.
