150 point teams.
It would also be nice to have a specific category, like series 1 only, to get some fun high cost figures back in use.
It could be fun to set up specific scenarios like Rebel vs. Empire or Droid Army. Maybe since TNT won the 100 point Star Wars with a rebel team, we could all build teams knowing that he will be using rebels again and try to bring down the champion. (Or in Transformers I could use Decepticons again and everyone could use Autobots to take me on.)
Just some fun ideas to throw out there. Any other ideas or thoughts on the above?

Fine ideas indeed. I love the idea of trying to knock off the defending champions.
Personally, I still would have loved the idea of playing in teams. I suggested this a while back about having each person bring a 100 point team to the table. You would then be given 2 other teammates assigned to you. From there you would play against other teams with the chance of advancing. I think this would be lots of fun.
Name - Relay Rules: You choose a 100 point team of any or mixed universe.
You are assigned 2 teammates.
You assign an order as to which one of your teammates is going first, second, and then third.
Your first teammate plays against the opposing teams first person.
Whoever wins only keeps the figures that were still standing at the end of the game.
The next person steps up and has to try to defeat the rest of the opposing teams remaining figures.
Once that is done the second person of the team that had the remaining figures would be considered defeated and the next member of his team would step up to the table and battle it out with the second or even by this time third opposing teams remaining figures.
Keep going until one team has all figures defeated.

I think that sounds like a great idea. It would definately make things alittle more interesting. But at the same time...it might get alittle repetetive with everyone having close to the same teams because we all have the goal of taking down the champ. For some games however, it would be fun to replay some of the "movie based battles".

I like both ideas, but especially the idea of having 2 players per side (total 4) and having 200 points total per player (total of 100 per side, plus 50 points backup each) ans having each individual player do a black/red test to see who goes first, so the order is random.
And the funy thing is that the team I picked was picked in 5 minutes or less, and the last time I played was a month or so ago, 2 games with GE and HairyTruth, and before that it was another month back with Chris! =D

And let's not forget playing Jess, whose team was pretty similar when you played her a couple of weeks ago

Do you mean all four people playing at the same time? That could be loads of fun! We've done that a couple of times here and really enjoyed it. Overall a great time.

To take on Pete's rebel army one person might use rebels, another Empire, another bounty hunters, and some might mix it up. It would be fun to use some of the figures whose specials apply specifically to rebels. We never use them in a tourney because you never know what team the opponent will have.

I would've liked the line of scrimmage to be irrelevant on the first round. I only like that idea because in individual universe tourny I lost easy thanks to others going first, and I took full advantage of that during the last shooter battle. I also suggest a game where grey elephant is blind folded, that way I have a decent handy cap Just kidding . Everyone I played was an excellent battle, extra shout out to TBHTIOT, the first battle with her was excellent, she is one of my favorite players to face off with. Especially because she sizes up each round, I think I'm going to try that one.. Strategy, who would've thought that worked!?

Yeah, I mean 4 people playing, but for 2 opposing sides. Like you and TBHTIOT with Seperatist and Droids versus me and Jess with Republic and Jedi. I envision each person with 100 points for a total of 200 for each side, then me and GE flip to go first, then Jess and TBHTIOT flip, then both teams flip to see which side goes.
And I should've been more specific - I played one VS. Chris and one VS. Jess (which I lost both LOL) when we played...I guess it was only a few weeks ago...but before that it was at Chris's house for dinner where he beat me senseless as usual.

Counting only knock downs for the first turn instead of those shot over the line? I think that is a great idea! And I know that some of the best players lost matches due to being shot out during the first turn, so it is a very valid concern and not just you. As far as strategy, I think you just know that I size up each round because I am slow whereas other players have already done so and are ready to get on with their turn--LOL.

2 ideas that I have:
1) "Mirror Match" - the idea is to get so just skill (or luck of the whites) and not better figures determines the winner. Each person creates two identical teams (of 100 points, 200 points, whatever). It'd work as follows - say for example you picked a Rebel team and your opponent picked a Wookiee team.
Play one game with each person having the same indentical Rebel team. Then play a second game with each person having the same indentical Wookiee team. If one person won both, it's over. If each won a game, then play a final time but one player uses the Rebel team and the other the Wookiee team.
2) "30 and up+" - Only 30, 40, and 50 pointers allowed (no Megas). OBK becomes useless because there are no troopers. Shooter Venom can't be used. Chris's teddy bear army is illegal! Someone like Yoda could be a dominat figure here... my idea was to get other figures played with that normally just collect dust.

I like idea #1, and #2 too, but there are indeed some higher point troopers, amigo. Remember the Destroyer?
I am a little concerned because of the complaints about the first-round shots. I have to reiterate that the rules ARE NOT BEING FOLLOWED. You are supposed to put your fig touching the start, then TIX 2 forward.
It seems like a lot of spilt milk being cried over here. I only got to go first 2 or 3 times of ALL of the matches I played the whole time and I won quite a bit of matches irrespective of the fact that I went second a LOT more than I went first. It seems like a lot of people put key guys in that will inexorably change the outcome like KAM or VENOM not understanding that they will be the first to go in many cases. The key is to not rely so heavily on one or two key men and just play YOUR game, not the opponent's. It's this kind of teambuilding that relies on luck, which is good to have unless it's BAD LUCK. Building a team of minor figures that all work off each other like Carmen and Tim's or ConaChris' Furry Frenzy Of Ferocious Furbees is a far better plan than going with an Obi Wan and a bunch of trooper launchers. The downside is that if you get psyched out of your game by losing your key figures early like KAM or R2-Q5 then you need to stop, reset, and re-evaluate your strategy and targets before going further.

All 30 and up would be great, even if a Destroyer Droid is still allowed, it would still get some different teams out there. The mirror match would eliminate bad feelings toward those who own several of every attacktix ever made (not to mention names here ). I also propose that the next private tourney held have only of special ideas like this, after all we have Tixcon once a year, so there is no need to have another tournament set up with the same type of games is there?

Just for the record, in my case I think the rule benefitted me more than it hurt me. Still would have liked to have seen things come out a little more fairly. YES I think there is a lot of crying over spilt milk. I think I am done now. Who gets psyched out by losing KAM right off the bat? I got psyched out several times, not just the once.
