I am a little concerned because of the complaints about the first-round shots. I have to reiterate that the rules ARE NOT BEING FOLLOWED. You are supposed to put your fig touching the start, then TIX 2 forward. It seems like a lot of spilt milk being cried over here. I only got to go first 2 or 3 times of ALL of the matches I played the whole time and I won quite a bit of matches irrespective of the fact that I went second a LOT more than I went first. It seems like a lot of people put key guys in that will inexorably change the outcome like KAM or VENOM not understanding that they will be the first to go in many cases. The key is to not rely so heavily on one or two key men and just play YOUR game, not the opponent's. It's this kind of teambuilding that relies on luck, which is good to have unless it's BAD LUCK. Building a team of minor figures that all work off each other like Carmen and Tim's or ConaChris' Furry Frenzy Of Ferocious Furbees is a far better plan than going with an Obi Wan and a bunch of trooper launchers. The downside is that if you get psyched out of your game by losing your key figures early like KAM or R2-Q5 then you need to stop, reset, and re-evaluate your strategy and targets before going further. I am definitely one who takes advantage of this a lot - but I think it's not fair... I am a pretty decent shot and usually get two kills right off the bat if I go first - but it really sucks for my opponent because they don't even get to move their guys into formation to help make it harder for kills. As most of you know, I play a lot of matches against myself and I keep a boatload of stats... in matches where I play myself, the team that goes first wins well over 60% of the time, that's almost 2 out of every 3 times. And I am following the rule where you have figures 2 tix from the backline. 2/3 of the time (if it was fair it'd be 1/2) is a huge advanatge simply because you were lucky in going first.

In Wombats and Chips, we play scrimmage safe, so it was a little disarming. Listen, I like to cry over spilled milk, i get mad when i drop something, the frustration eats me when I stub my toe, or cannot get a piece to fit into another piece! What does this have to do with attacktix? Nothing. I just really hate spilled milk, its irritating. especially on fabric! And I know DONP and his Girl cry over every drop of spilled milk.. Thats not funny.. but yeah it is Oh yeah my post!? Uh yeah I agree with all of you about agreeing with me. And cona's idea about using high figures is great.. this is why someone who isn't me should start a new post about figures that suck and should be used in a "sucky battle". A battle that consist of captain America vs Pole kicking spidy, Tourny Cape having Darth Vs Count Deku, Overhaul Vs Dirtboss... Oh yeah.. You wanna get good at this game, play with the worst ! If anyone starts this please inform me, I wanna participate!

Never seen so many Touchdown Vaders, C-3POs, and Chief Chirpas in my life!

Ahhh, yes. I'll never forget Pete screaming out "some Lord of the Sith he is"! right after he missed attacking my figure with Touchdown Vader. Good times indeed.
What made that match funny was that I wanted that Transformers starter set. After I beat Pete I was thinking "oh, good I won it". I didn't realize it was the second place prize. Pete REALLY enjoyed rubbing it in my face that I didn't get what I wanted.

That just sounded wrong....
"Pete REALLY enjoyed rubbing it in my face"...."didn't get what I wanted"......

Pete REALLY enjoyed rubbing it in my face that I didn't get what I wanted. That is why I feel that the next tournament should have the players who get prizes to actually pick which prize they want. After all, if you won first place, you should get your preference first.

I don't know about that.....at the Olympics there's a Bronze, Gold, and Silver medal, and at Tixcon there was a Bronze, Silver, and Gold prize.

exactly i agree thats why at tixcon i rlly wanted that silver sabertooth...therefore I won all my games and let GE beat so i would get second and not first and inevitably recieve the prize that i wanted ;D

I have a new one... no multiples. No more armies with 5 Jedi Knights and 5 ten point Greedos. Different teams would be played. Could be fun!

Hear, hear! I love that idea!
Here's my ideas (and Carmen's):
"Unique Only" tournament - You can only play unique figures, and only one of each CHARACTER.
30 And Up tournament - Only 30 points and up, just like Chris's.
Single Only - Carmen's idea - only one of any FIGURE.
Commanders and Troopers - only Captains and Trooper figures allowed.
20 and Under - 20 points or less only - no 30, 40 or 50 pointers.

30-40 point match was a total blast! Loved it. 10-20 point Captain/Trooper match would be fun as well. Battle Royal is fun, but you can't let anyone start at the end of the table. We found they have too much of an advantage. I still would like to do my relay idea at a tournament.

I really like "the Single Only - Carmen's idea - only one of any FIGURE"... that puts an end to a lot of the teams that win in tournaments most of the time - it might make some figures not normally played with really valable. The others are good ideas as well, just not my favorite. Although I'm not sure on the "only 10 and 20 pointers", most of the teams today in 200 point opens are 10/20 pointers anyway, maybe they have one 30/40 pointer... I don't think this would be too different. Captains and Troopers would be very interesting, I think we'd see a lot of Droid Army teams with them!
