Posted by superflytnt on Today at 6:25pm Very slick amigo. Much like I imagined when you told me about it before. how did you integrate the launcher into GZ's head? |
I touched on it above. I was sorta short on how I did it though due to being tired once I got home from work. First thing I had to do was drill a hole through Godzilla's mouth out though the back of his head. That took some time to get the size right because if it's too small, then Godzilla's mouth would open up straight up and down. So I had to work on that for about 30-45 minutes just to get it right. I didn't want to make it too big so that the gun wouldn't move around too much and it would have broken the sides of Godzilla's mouth open. I need to go back one step. First thing was actually taking O.P.'s gun and sawing off the handle, the back, and front end of it so that it would actually fit inside of this mouth. I didn't want to leave too much sticking out of the back and detract from Godzilla himself. From there it was a matter of fitting the gun inside of his mouth from the back side in. Then I wanted to hide what little was sticking out of the back. So I decided to add another scale to his back. I molded the clay around the back side of his head around the end of the gun. Shaped it. Let it dry. Painted several times before my wife finally got it right. My wife was wonderful through the whole process. She helped me do lots of the painting. I was mainly focusing on the sculpt and how to make him fire. What's great is making him not only breath the fire blast, but also getting to shot the U.F.O. off of his arm. I gave him a special that I will post a picture of soon.

Here is his special. It reads: Counter-Attack
Stand Godzilla back up and make an immediate move and attack.Posted by Brandizard on Today at 6:39pm Is Godzilla's missile from an Attacktix fig? |
I bought 5 of these when I seen them on Ebay. Not sure what they were originally. Maybe a prototype of some sort. They pack one whale of a punch! I made a missile turret that has one of these babies attached to it. Whenever I play with it I can easily take down more than 1 figure if aimed correctly. I'll post a pic. of my turret so you can see what I'm talking about.

Godzilla is freakin' fantastic! Gives Superfly's Sentinel a serious run for the money for Mega custom of the year! (Oh, wait you tied for first)?
Han is great. I'm a fan of tossers or hand operated attacks; Hasbro has one or two of its own so if it works and you are happy with it, its sometimes the best way to go. DD's mech is very tricky to re-install.
Keep 'em coming! What you did with the gunship base is inspirational!

That's bad-azz. That is exactly why I am glad I got some of these deals. You can use the tiles for D&D/Star Wars Minis, Pocketmodels, Attacktix, and about everything in between!

Very nice, I wish I had more tiles (just have the Marvel set). That certainly removes the slanted advantage of shooters on turn 1. If you can take out the opponent in that, you deserve the knock down.

Okay. As promised yesterday, I've got an idea that I feel could change some of the dynamics of the game. This isn't 100% my own idea as I do remember Superfly speaking of this probably about a year ago. I loved the idea and always wanted to create something workable. Now this is what I would consider a prototype. I actually used tape to keep the pieces together just so I could get an idea and give you an idea of what I'm working on. Without further adeu........... An Attacktix bulwark. Front view. Front view with figures behind. Bossk and R2-Q5. Figures standing in front. Attacktix is an incredibly attack oriented game. I wish to throw in some form of defense. This gives us that. I've thought of a couple of ways to use the walls. I feel that they should cost something as well. Here are my ideas on walls, how much they cost, and ways to use them. Costs. 1. This particular wall should cost around 10-20 points. My feelings are that they shouldn't cost an arm and a leg to play. That would make them useless because nobody would want to waste a high number of points on defense when they can get a great attack oriented figure for the same number of points. So defense needs to be cheap. I think 20 points is a maximum start. I've even came up with an idea of only 1 block on a base and making it 5 points. 2. This wall takes 5 blocks. I'm thinking on average you should go around 5 points per block with a "bakers dozen" philosophy of giving you a free block if you go with the more costly pieces. So instead of saying a 5 block wall is 25, you can go 20 instead and gain the extra for free seems how you are spending points on something larger and more costly. So here's how I see it. 1 block wall equals 05 points 3 block wall equals 10 points 5 block wall equals 20 points Ideas for walls. 1. Obviously they are made for and only defensive purposes. They don't attack at all. However should they move? Should they have a special? Not sure. Here's some of my thoughts. 2. Movement. I can see it moving at tops around 1 tix. No more. 3. Special. How about "reconstruct............Stand back up if you have a specialist in play". How to play. 1. Here's how I see it. A wall does you no good unless someone is behind it or in front of it, right? So here's my idea on how a wall should work. Line your figures up like you always do, two tix from the edge. Take your walls and put them in front of your figures 2 tix up. So in other words, your wall goes 4 tix from the edge. That way you get INSTANT defense! And this allows your wall to take some shots and have room to scoot backward before it comes into contact with your figures. 2. Here's another idea. Both of you line up your figures like you always do 2 tix from the edge. Imagine there's an invisible line (or you could actually make a line) to divide the board in half length ways. Take your walls and put them anywhere on your half of the board. This way you can block your opponents view from sniping your figures off the starting line. Anyways.....give me your thoughts. I also have ideas for turrets that look like the ones from Empire Strikes Back during the Hoth battle. They could be placed on your side of the board but be unable to move during the course of the game. Once placed, that's where they stay. Cost 10 points and shot a small bullet. That will come soon with pictures.

Looks cool and very promising.
There's been an idea I've been kicking around for a bit concerning walls, gun turrets, etc. Some of these items would have an effect called something like: "Emplacement" (might need better, simplier name) and the effect would be worded something like: "This figure may only be moved during your teams first movement round", or something like that.
So if you had a Hoth gun with a movement of six you could move it (and any other guns, walls) during your first move turn and set them up and there they stay.

I likey. How about taking a rebel trooper/battledroid/clone... off it's base and putting it on a simple box hinge so that when it's hit it falls backwards. This makes the piece a playable game piece, and give it a movement rate of 1 tix with no attack. Make the lil guy hard to hit, and as a special plaque it may be placed 3 tix in front of your start line at the beginning of the game.....this allows for the "Wah, I didn't go first" gripe to be negated.
Astute, very astute.
I would also like to point out how disturbing it is that the lotion is RIGHT THERE next to his computer. =D I mean c'mon man...at least PRETEND that you're not a fiend! ROFL

A great idea GE, that would really mix up games. Are those from Heroscape or Megablocks or something else?

A great idea GE, that would really mix up games. Are those from Heroscape or Megablocks or something else? They are from a very old game called "Crossbows and Catapults". In this game, you use them to build a wall in front of your castle. Your opponent knocks down your wall using crossboows and catapults and then aims for your castle door. They fit together very loosely, not like legos or megablocks that fit tight. In this way you can shoot just one block off of the wall. I had a blast playing this game in the '80s. I found one of the wall pieces while organizing the tool box and brought it to GE who then said "I have been wanting to make Attacktix walls, where are the rest?" GE has informed me that the game was re-released and it is possible to buy a new set now. We also have a set called "Weapons and Warriors" that we could "attacktixify". I think we should make trees similar to the walls. I would also like to point out how disturbing it is that the lotion is RIGHT THERE next to his computer. =D I mean c'mon man...at least PRETEND that you're not a fiend! ROFL ;D You are so crude. I left it there after I slathered the baby's bottom with it. I am holding him 75% of my time on the computer.

The Big HairyTruth Is Out There It is so kind to defend your hubbies honor but that is NOT baby bottom lotion. Baby butt lotion comes in a tub Like A&D ointment. superflytnt was dead on with his ideas about the goings on with that bottle and we all know it.

ROFLMAO. I wasn't going to mention that it wasn't Desitin or Bordeaux's Butt Paste, or even Dr. Smiths....no, it was LubriTim...er...Derm.
ROFL
And I actually have the newest iteration of Crossbows and Catapults, "BATTLEGROUNDS" which you can now get at Target for 10$ and the expansions (4) can be had at Toys R Us for 5$ a pop. That game is arguably more fun that Attacktix, and easier to play for kids.
