SCORE!!! My mom took me to T.J. Maxx a few minutes ago. We walked over to the toy isle, but there didn't seem to be - THERE'S AN SW5 Starter Set is sitting on the middle shelf! I quickly snatched it up and hugged it. Yes, hugged it. I looked at the bottom and the price tag said $5.00. Unfortunately, we couldn't find a TF2 Starter. But I did pick up a $6.00 Republic Gunship. I will post pics soon.

My brain was too frazzled by the prospect of these starters finally being released. Good luck to you! Any idea what this could be about Webhead? Why we're seeing them at a discount store before Toys R Us, etc.? Webhead doesn't have anything to do with Hasbro sales/marketing/production/shipping/distribution/retail/online sales/etc./etc. He is our inside man - but not that inside.

I didn't see any at the tj maxx here yet, but I'm sure I'll check again this weekend sometime.

Wow! Two different T.J. Maxx's with Starters. Congrats to you both Grievous and Leumas! I'm hoping to cash in my luck tonight on the $325,000,000 Mega Millions jackpot... but I'll take finding the starters if that doesn't work out

Well, the TJ MAxx in Florence, KY didn't have anything but 2 Spider Man (sandman...) tournament packs, and those were 10$ a pop.

Found a S2 Starter Set MARVEL!!!!!!
No Star Wars or Transformers for me. I went to 4 different TJ Maxx stores. The first one I went to had the S2 Marvel at it. None of the others had squat. Other than SM Tournament sets, old starters, and old boosters or SW 4 and TF 1.
I however am happy to finally own HULK!
BTW mine was $5.99.

Found a S2 Starter Set MARVEL!!!!!! Great, now you got me jealous since that's the last one I'd need to complete my set . Still, why am I complaining all things considered? ;D Your report plus Leumas actually makes me sad. Not because I wanted to horde the T.J. Maxx Tix to myself but because this mean that Attacktix could indeed be in the process of being liquidated . I certainly hope not but, on the bright side, the last sets will be the cheapest ones ever .

I honestly can't see why else they would be found in TJ Maxx. However, we can still cross our fingers and hope to see them in other stores eventually. I found SM tournament, Gunship w/ clone, Marvel S1 starter with Wolverine, S2 starter (obviously), S4 SW boosters, and S1 TF boosters.
Most of these would be considered clearance or liquidated merchandise. But maybe it was from one store like Target or Meijer who liquidated them. Or maybe some on line retailer who really didn't want anymore Attacktix and just sold them without really knowing what series was what.

Yeah, that's the only thing that I can hope (that it was somewhere just tossing out the old stuff with the new ones thrown in accidentally). I actually am leaning towards the latter where it was an online retailer. No major store I've seen sells the starters for $11.00 and the only place I've ever seen these starters before is online anyways.
Still, one must hope.

5 SW S4 boosters? $3.99 each. 1 TF S1 booster? $3.99. 1 Marvel starter set? $5.99. 2 Spider-Man tournament sets? $9.99 each.
New starter sets? Not a one at my Teej. Still, grievous, excellent find! I'd never have thought of TJ Maxx as anything but a discount clothier.

I need to go to more TJ Max if you guys are picking up Marvel 2.
I really don't see this as being a bad thing. We never saw the new starters in stores, so I'm guessing that TJ Max had bought one of the newer shipments while all the chain stores are hesitant to buy because they have remaining stock of older sets.
It is my general understanding that the new sets will be available on-line soon and will show up in stores later.
But in the mean time TJ Max. here I come!
