(takes a bow) In some ways, you're more of a kitbasher for Attacktix than I am, since you're much more aggressive about mixing and matching bits. I tend to use existing figures as skeletons to putty around as often as not...which is customizing but not exactly kitbashing in a strict sense. And then there's the total scratchbuilds I'm doing with the Peebos.... ---Dave

No, even I, who have been heralded as one of the better kitbashers have to admit that you are far superior to anyone I've seen thus yet. The thing that truly impresses me is not the details or colors, or even the custom sculptures; it's the fact that all of the figures you create have a backstory to them, complete with factions, powers, and interaction from a universe you created (or at a minimum had a large contribution to). The rest of us duplicate or imitate, where you innovate. Hats off! Mind the bald spot, though, I sunburned it! ;D

Yeah, but by the same respect, I'm not able to use putty as well as you do, dvandom. I mean, take C.J. Brown, Base of the Pillar and Scorch into account, just to name a few - I might be able to mix parts like a madman, but I'm still limited by my options in parts. You can just take some putty and make a figure look however you want, though.
And superfly, all I've done is create figures, you created a whole battlefield, that puts you ahead of me I'd say. Creating whole backstories is just an old habit I've had for years whenever I create an original character, whether for a story, a custom action figure, or both.

Some two and a half months - cutting, puttywork, sanding, finding the right parts, creating custom parts to get it to look right, painting, all of this comes together to make Megaman X, in his Light Armor from the first game in the X series my most involved custom yet. Some time back, dvandom made a custom basic Megaman and I commented that I had bought the exact same Megaman figure to make a custom Megaman Attacktix. Unlike dvandom's version, however, instead of grafting a missile launcher onto the dollar store Megaman I went the other way - I took the legs and head of the Megaman and used them with Attacktix parts. The legs were made by taking an Electro and cutting the legs off at the knees, then doing the same with the Megaman legs and using the tack trick to put them together before filling in the gaps with Squadron putty and sanding. With the head, since the peg of Megaman's neck was smaller than the whole in an Attacktix torso, I took a piece of thin plastic and used it to make a kind of washer to hold the head in the torso. The torso is a story in and of itself. You may not believe this, but it's a Series 4 Starter Boba Fett torso. First I removed the launcher pack and cape, then I took a Dremal and cut the lower part of the torso off and sanded that down, then still using the Dremal I cut a hole where the 'crotch' piece had been to allow the torso to work like any other Attacktix torso. The final construction step with the torso was to fill in the holes for the launcher and cape with Squadron putty and sand it down. Finally, I took and sanded the launcher arm from an Overhaul like crazy until it looked similar to the Insecticon arm I used for the left arm and to an X-Buster. Part/Paint Breakdown: Head: Dollar store Megaman figure, helmet painted using Light Grey, True Blue Pearl, Chevy Engine Red and Pactra Pearl Gold. Torso: SW(4) Starter Boba Fett, heavily modified, painted Light Grey and Pactra Pearl Gold. Left Arm: Insecticon, painted Light Grey and True Blue Pearl. Right Arm: Overhaul, modified, painted using Light Grey, True Blue Pearl, and Chevy Engine Red. Legs: Custom; made using waist and thighs of Electro and boots from a dollar store Megaman figure. Painted Light Grey, True Blue Pearl, and Pactra Pearl Gold. Base: SW(3)16 Hammerhead.

I was referring to Dvandom with his, but yours are very nice indeed as well, and you've got that backstory niche down too.
I love the megaman!

That is easily one of the best customs I've ever seen and the fact that it's Megaman makes it all the sweeter. If you're ever able to make a Zero figure, then my life will be complete since I've now seen both Megaman and Megaman X customs. Only one left is the big 0.

Hm... Would need a Vader striker since it seems to be closest in armor design and carries a sword, probably turn to the same kind of dollar store figures I went to for MMX for the legs and possibly the head...
I'll see what I can do...

Seriously, I will karma up you every time I'm online if you make a good Zero custom. Whether it be Megaman X version, Megaman Zero version, or either Megaman ZX version, any of them would be awesome. Zero = Awesome. Zero Attacktix = Greatest thing since sliced bread!

I have seen a couple of Mega Man customs, but this one takes the cake by far. Great job.
