Did anyone see the movie this weekend. It made a lot of $$.
Joe and I went to see it...I groaned at the beginning, the story was kind of convoluted...
BUT by the end I kind of got into it. The special effects were great & I liked Nicholas Cage (surprisingly). The more I think about it, the more I liked it.
Worth a matinée price.

I saw the movie last night. It actually was good in my opinion. It was a little slow at the beginning, but once Johnny Blaze first became Ghost Rider it got pretty cool.
I can say my dad LOVED it!

I like Nick Cage. I agree that the pacing started slow, but I thought it was a decent film.

Ghost Rider just plain sux. The movie was dull, predictable, and simply too tongue-in-cheeky. Nicholas Cage is about as good an actor as Hugh Grant, and that ain't saying much.

I've heard ghost rider's voice and its DEFINIATLY not nick's His voice could have been recorded then modified later on though. Anyway, I saw the movie and I thought it was pretty good. Yes, it did have some annoying attempts at being funny. Such as what Grievous mentionned, but it delivers on the action.

Nick Cage is alright. I'm not really a fan, but I have nothing against him. I wouldn't have liked it if he had played Superman, as it was rumored a while ago. As for Ghost Rider, I'll probably wait till my Father-in-Law buys this on DVD and watch it at his house, though. I thought he was cool back in the early 90's, but haven't really cared much since. But, I would have liked to see his appearance in the Fantastic Four cartoon back in the late 90's. I heard it was awesome. Plus, I'd like the Ghost Rider Mega 'tix!

The DVD came out on Tuesday but I wasn't able to watch until last night due to having family in town for the week. All I can say is WOOOOOO!!!!!!! I loved it!!!!
When Spider-Man came out, I remember being giddy watching Spidey swing around New York City on his webbing. I felt exactly the same last night watching Ghost Rider tear it up on his bike. That was awesome! I loved the way they played out GR's pennance stare, I thought Cage was a very good Johnny Blaze, and I especially liked Sam Elliott (but who doesn't?) Blackheart and his minions were appropriately creepy and well done.
Except for the fact that my kids won't be old enough to watch it for quite some time, I found very little not to like! I do agree that Ghost Rider could've had more lines, but that's about all I can come up with. Also, on the DVD extras there some explanation of the original idea for Blaze and how Cage made some changes to make him a much more believable and interesting character. Kudos to Cage, I loved the jelly beans ;D

I loved the jelly beans too! I really thought the movie would be horrendous but it was actually a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to seeing it again on DVD.

We rented it out and watched it also, and really enjoyed it. Especially my wife... and she usually automatically poo-poos anything that I show an interest in. We *ARE* married after all. ;D

When you see something you're all into and would like her to participate in, suddenly turn your nose up. Just kind of shrug and say "Eh, I don't know. I usually like that, but for some reason this just doesn't really appeal to me." When I play that card, my wife usually takes interest, possibly to see what exactly isn't attracting me. This is how I got her into Beast Wars Transformers. Afterwards, she'll usually say something to the effect of 'That was pretty cool, why don't you like it?' Hah! If I keep this up, she'll eventually be as big a geek as I am.

The Geeky-ness is beginning to take it's hold though, since she doesn't struggle as much anymore. I knew it was only a matter of time! ;D

Just saw Ghost Rider last night (got it for our dad for Father's Day, he's been wanting to see it). It was decent, for an incredibly tongue-in-cheek movie.
I don't know, I guess when I think "Ghost Rider" I think of someone like Batman, dark and mysterious. Instead, the movie just felt really campy. I don't mind some jokes here or there in a film but it felt like the entire movie was a joke when it could have been more serious like the aforementioned Batman movies or even like Spider-Man where it's serious but with jokes sprinkled throughout.
Another issue I had was with The Hidden. They were each killed in three minutes each. They sold them as big bad fallen angels and then Ghost Rider destroys each in split seconds. They didn't feel menacing at all.
Also, plot hole with "The San Venganza Contract" storyline. If the contract would have worked the same for Mephisto, why wouldn't the earlier Ghost Rider have given him the contract and then done to Mephisto what Johnny Blaze did to Blackheart?
Really, it isn't a bad movie. It just felt really corny at times when I was expecting something a bit more serious. Worth a rent but unsure if I would outright buy it.

I think that the following would've been better choices, not to say the Nick Cage did a poor job (bad script is just that):
Thomas Jane (from the Punisher) because he has a more grim visage Russell Crowe - just because he's a nutcase.
Also, the Devil should've been that dude from Kung Fu and Kill Bill - David? Carradine.
