Hmm...a 20-point trooper, with a medium clear missile. I think I come down on the side of "meh" about this one; he doesn't excite me one way or another. Then again, it takes a lot for launchers to excite me. I just hope he doesn't break his wind blast too often

Lame. I sure wish Hasbro wouldn't always bow to movie companies. I mean, there's myriad other figures that would've fit the 'evil nemesis' mold in the Marvel universe; why didn't they make some figures of villains that people've actually HEARD of en masse. Lex Luthor, for instance (or is that DC??) or other Spider nemesi...or perhaps Magneto, Mystique (would'nt that be cool - a Capture selection to be sure) .... ah, what's the use in whining... ;(

I'll follow everyone else by saying "Eh". Only thing really going for Abigor is his unique missile, The Hidden turn out to be a good team and, linked to the last one, his power has a high percentage.

yeah, Lex Luthor is DC (superman and all). Though i agree it would have been nice if there was more mainstream Marvel in this first issue. This guy is from the Ghost Rider specific starter set though isn't he?

I don't know. He's kind of cool. I don't need 5 of him (......well, that may yet remain to be seen), but he's a decent figure. I recognize that he costs 20 points, but for that you get upgraded to a medium base, a "larger variety of missile"-Joe, and a special ability that has an unknown ratio and affects character that have yet to be seen. I wouldn't count this guy out so quickly.
One thing that did strike me as odd is his Attacktix figure #. He is (GR/06). What's up with that? He is part of the first wave of Marvel figures. His Attacktix Figure # should read something like (M/06) I'm guessing this is similar to how the characters in the intergalactic pack were SVT (star wars versus transformers), but is seems to me that having all the figures from one set numbered in sequence would build up the desire to collect those figures. Then again there seemed to be little results in battle cases sold in that manner. It still seems like a Marvel # would be preferable.

Its because he's from and only available in the Ghost Rider Movie Starter/Mega, which combined include Ghost Rider, Western Ghost Rider, Wallow Abigor, Blackheart, and Caretaker... the weird thing is that that's six figures... starter's 4 and the mega has one additional one... So where's the sixth one go?

Seems like Hasbro's taken to packaging figures with the Megas across brands now.

I think the GR Series is a good idea on Hasbro's part. Much like Star Wars only fans, who can take or leave TF... if you don't like GR or care for the odd tertiary-type characters you CAN leave it and not have a gap in your collection. Or worse yet, get 5 Abigors in 10 boosters The idea of MINI Series like that is great for other movies, too. Image a 4 pack/Starter of Indiana Jones (we already have the face sculpt). I don't want to get off topic in this thread, but there is a lot of potential if a mini-line like Ghost Rider is successful... in my mind, anyway.

Ohh, Mystique, baby, where have you been all my life!
I am currently scratching the back of my ear with my foot and howling at the moon.
I am loving me some Mystique!

i think the idea of mini series is stupid and could get totally out of hand

Mystique looks simply awesome and is now one of the figures I'm most hoping to get. As put in the preview, she's like the Emporer but much better. She has nearly the same speed but a better base size, she can actually attack, and has a special power. One thought, though. The Possession effect says that you remove Mystique from the game, not from play. Does this mean she goes into the defeated pile or not? If not, can you say, Mystique x2 + S1 KAM x2 + Medic Droid? Mystique dies and Swaps or possesses, re-juvenated by KAM/Medic Droid, and starts all over again.

True 'nuff; I'd confused Wallow and Abigor - though why Abigor would be GR/6 if he's really in the starter is beyond me. Weird, weird, weird. i think the idea of mini series is stupid and could get totally out of hand Curious; I had exactly the opposite reaction. I think that the mini-series idea would be one that would draw fans of a particular license (that only has a few characters in it) into the game. And then, they might get to enjoying playing Attacktix, thereby interesting them in other series. The special starter sets are nice points of entry into the game, too, as they don't require faith in blind boosters. The only thing I wouldn't like about an Indy mini-series is that there are just too many fun characters from the universe to fit in a mini-series! Nevertheless, I could see starting with a starter (and a Mega) from the upcoming movie, then expanding it into a full series. Y'know, the mini-series idea might also be a nice way for Hasbro to test out possible brands about which it might not be sure about taking off or surviving as Tix. Oh, and Mystique's limited speed might also limit her utility. I'd have preferred her to have 8 or 10 speed to let her attack/touch other figures more effectively (we had the 20-point, 10-speed Clone Sergeant before with the Battle Case). Otherwise, great job! Both the effect and special power are dead on for her character, though the backup swap might end up backfiring something fierce more often than it works. Just think if Mystique takes over the backups for an SW or TF team - and may have no way to get them into play! And removing her from play entirely if her effect comes into play - not putting her in backups, not placing her in the defeated area - will be a heckuva twist. It'll certainly make sure she doesn't get used against you! The "base kiss" idea is a great way to remedy the problem with the Emperor. She'll be able to take control of strikers in a really deadly way.
