There seems to be some confusion on how Capt. America attacks. It appears that the shield is not spring loaded, but will fire when the momentum of the swing forces it out. So, the difference in attack methods is actually very slight. The only difference is as a striker, he's too close to let the shield fly out. Is that about right? The shield gets forced our kind of like Jabba's pellets. The shield rests in U shaped piece. When you squeeze the two clear circles (you can see them in the picture, by his elbow) it squeezes/shoots the disc out of the holder. He is a normal striker. You can strike with his shield IN place, or empty hand (if you shoot the shield first) You will love him!

Interesting form of launching that I'm hoping will turn out to be easy to use.
One quick question that hopefully one of the previewers (Joe, Yaggleberry, Webhead) knows the answer to, can you launch AND strike as one action? It makes sense either way but CA will be even better if he can do both.

Okay, Captain America is officially freaking awesome and on the top of my "most wanted" list. Hopefully with the roughly eight boosters I'll be getting for Christmas I'll be able to pull one. Wolverine is also sweet. X-Men are looking like a nice three-figure faction now considering they have a good striker, a good shooter, and now a good prodder with a good effect. I also just noticed that all three of the figs powers have to do with bringing characters back from the jaws of defeat (Beast has rally, Gambit has rescue, Wolverine has recover). It fits the X-men well considering how often they're just able to squeak out a victory. Wolverine's Feral Rage ability also looks awesome, even though it is restricted to having another X-men figure as well as only activating if a Leader is taken down.

"Rage" - If you have another X-Men in play, once per turn after defeating a Leader this figure may move six Tix and make additional attack.
His ability does not appear to require him to make the original attack. It seems that I can shoot down a leader using Megatron, move and attack with Wolverine. The special ability never states who needs to defeat the Leader.
Strange how it states "once per turn", almost implying that there will be other "Effects" that can be used more often. Perhaps there is a change coming to how effects are used.

I think they said that to make sure people didn't go on a big Leader-killing rampage in just one figure's attack, like defeat one, activate power to defeat another, which activates the power again... If they didn't do that restriction, the smaller-size teams that the Marvel Attacktix seem to advocate would be much less useful against this Wolverine.

Cap and Wolv are just freaking awesome! I am so pumped to start getting these newer figures! I have my fingers crossed obviously to pull as many of these 2 figures that I can.

re: Wolverine - Rage...Wolverine has to do the work to get the free attack...it's what sends him into his Rage so to speak...
If anyone is interested, the specific scene that this idea came from was the end of Planet X...when Magneto kills Phoenix with and electromagnetic pulse, Wolverine caps Magneto and goes feral.
