Smoking is an action when done in public effects not just yourself but others as well. I don't see your point here at all. If I went around spraying air freshener at peoples just because I loved the smell of it would that be considered OK? No that is battery. I don't want to be around it and neither do I want my daughter having to be around it either. If they have to pass a law to restrict something that is not only very harmful for the individual who is doing it, but also for those around him, then I am all for it. But that's just the thing. Generally speaking, smokers are not running around shoving their cigarettes underneath your nose and if they were, then you could have them arrested. Instead, you just walk away. No one is holding a gun to your head, forcing you to breath smoke filled air. There's a whole lot more air in the world than just the air by a smoker. That's the exact encounter my family had once. We walked into a small restaurant that was full of smokers, turned around, and went somewhere else for breakfast. Simple "voting with your feet" logic. You have a very good point there. Though I was once in a situation very similar in which I could not walk away, exactly. My family was in transition between houses, and we were in an apartment. Every single person there except the members of my family smoked, and the air reeked of it. Cigarette butts are of no coincidence to me anymore; so many of them lay on the ground it was insane. I was eleven or twelve at the time, and I could do nothing about it, as no child can when adults around them subject them to secondhand smoke. We did do something kind of what Grievous did; stayed in cottages until we could move in to the new house. But overall, though adults and non-smoking families can choose whether to be subject to secondhand smoke, children generally cannot.

You sound off like you've got a pair and ask the guy to put out his smoke or move because it's bothering you. If he tells you to go F yourself (or some other 'nice' comment) then you fart on him. Let him smell something nasty! Seriously, though, this comes down to personal freedoms. Do you really want the government telling you, or anyone, that you may only exercise your rights as long as they're not construed as annoying or offensive to anyone else?
Look at indians and pakistanis. I know a LOT of them, and only 2 of them use deodorant. They stink like nasty 99.9999% of the time. Whay about that? Should we legislate the "East Indian Anti-Stink act of 2007"? What about landfills? They stink, so should they be banned from places within 2000 miles of any nose? And what about cars? Carbon Monoxide is a KILLER! Let's ban the use of those too. And the beat goes on.....
Laws and Government come down to one simple rule...
"You give a mouse a cookie.....and he's going to want a glass of milk."

It's not to say that I totally disagree with Grievous, Superfly, or Malform. I am annoyed just like anyone else to see "rights" taken away and more restrictions put into place. However, with smoke you are going to have a hard time convincing me that it wasn't the correct thing to do to put bans up.
And Superfly, don't even get me started about "illegals" and "alien residents".
How's this one for ya. I just had a baby. It cost me 20,000. I will pay this out of pocket seems how I have no insurance. Now how about our south of the border buddies who don't have any insurance. Do you think they pay for their babies? If you answered yes, you are wrong, wrong, wrong. I know of several (I work in construction and am surrounded anymore by southern buddies) who think America is great, because they can just go to an office and get welfare checks and have free babies. When I told them who is actually paying it, they thought it was funny. I got into a serious argument with one of my employees over this. He has had 2 babies both paid for by the "government". He drives a brand new Ford Explorer that is totally jacked up with wheels, rims, and the whole nine yards. He would always talk about how he had 25,000 dollars in the bank. And to top it off, he is illegal. How's that for a free society?
And OMG yes, those Indians stink. You could pass a law and I would sign it to force them to wear deodorant. It's that darn Curry!

Call ICE. Have the border brothers deported. Or shoot them and dump the bodies....your call ;D
And I wasn't talking about illegals, although I despise them too, but I was talking about highly paid, skilled engineering folks that just have a cultural thing to never use deodorant and eat TONS of spicy curcumin-laden foods. They sweat arse-smell. It's like having a dead body under your nose...there are no words to describe it. Let me put it like this - their odor is to smell as vomit that you have to swallow back down is to taste. Rancid, putrescent, disgusting, vomitous...all apply. But what can I do about that? These are my customers and I have to deal with it. I can't lobby congress to stop stench, especially in Kentucky where it seems to be a state pastime.

I have another one.
Why is it that when you have little kids that their heads become ball magnets? Me and my daughter were playing out in the back yard today. I kicked the ball from across the yard at the fence while she was running. Of course, the ball did a wicked turn and hit her right in the head while she was running.
Now you think this is a fluke, right? Well, I would agree if it was the first time.
About a year ago my nephews and I were playing kick ball. She was on first base and was running to second when the ball once again was kicked and hit her right in the head while she was running.
I am telling you. Kids have magnets in their heads that attract round plastic items.

This whole thing about stinky Indians is making me laugh.
People this is not racism. If you have been around them you would understand. For some reason or another Indians have been buying the crap out of houses here in Indiana. Unfortunatley for me and my company we have to go into their houses and do 1 year touch ups. If you think they stink, try going into their houses for a couple of hours at a time listening to "LA, OLA, OL, LA, LA, AH, HA, AH, LA, OHAL" the whole time.
LMAO!!!!

ROFL...vigorously. My best friend in high school was a guy named Raj Ghia. They were not FOBs, but were indeed traditional. Raj and his family all had great hygiene, and a very nice, expensive home. The curry was like death, though. I still have nightmares.
On the other side, though, my other friend Tran Nguyen, his house stank like death. His mom, dad, little (9) brother, little (7) sister, his older brother, his wife and 2 kids, and his grandmother all lived in a 2-bedroom house. They had mats they used to roll up on the floor to sleep on. It smelled like fish and sweaty people, and it was unbearable...BUT...man, his grandma made the best eggrolls I've had to this day.

Why can't I find any stores in Quebec that sell Attacktix? Why are all the TRU's late with the new action figures? Why do I have 3 huge school projects at the same time?

He also didn't add a question mark to the end of his "gewd" post. You want to know what I think? I think that way to many people my age are choosing to have a life of happiness. Living in the moment, doing everything for themselves. That's their decision and I can respect it even if I completely disagree with it. Me, I'm in it for a life of meaning. Always dwelling on the past and looking to the future, never truly happy with what I have and always striving to make something of the world. You can't truly have both so I picked the one that means the most in the long run... Any Heroes fans should know what the above is based off of. Pot pie!
