I'll be there in Defender's posse. I'm really looking forward to another Tixcon. Had a blast last year, can't wait to have my figures handed back to me on a silver platter so to speak. lol

I noticed the "Gunslinging Vs. The PROS (note the plurality)".
So, what PRO besides Mr. Webhead shall be in the mix?

Good question Pete, I was wondering the same. Mrs. GE again! ;D
Is there any way to get a schedule of events so I know what I can and cannot sign up for? Will more than one tournament be going on at the same time? It looks like 3 of us playing will be passing a toddler around. All the babysitters will be at a religious convention, so we have to take him with, and need to make some plans.

I love the idea of playable trophies that will be "TixCon" legal!

Brett - I have a few questions regarding RULES of play at TixCon '08. The ARC Rules Committee has come up with some rules, and one in particular has been very heatedly debated:
"Is reloading of figures at the beginning of a turn mandatory, or optional?"
So, what rules will we be playing with?

While you are answering questions, I have two as well.
1. Will there be a limit on Venom SM3? 2. Will you post a list of the events with what time each one will start?
Thanks Tim

Likely the general flow of events will follow the same course as last year...starting off with separate Marvel/TF/SW events, then a break, then the Open/Masters, then various side events as people are eliminated from that and/or want to sign up for stuff. I know that doesn't sound super definite, but if I had to guess, I'd say the first events will start around 11, with the masters around 1ish. Also keep in mind there is a limited number of game tables running at once, I think we had only six last year in the main room, so it's not like everyone in an event necessarily plays at the same time.
I will review the ARC stuff and post later...is there a concise place I can read up on it? I try not to interfere in that section too much...so I'm not real familiar with how it's setup.

Just go to page one, then read the second post. It has every rule, thesis, and question ever asked amigo. We are currently working on making a rulebook for publishing and distribution as well.

Brett, I wasn't there last year so I'm not entirely sure how it ran.
What I am understanding though is that all the "specific universe" events run at the same time? Not Star Wars, then Transfomers, then Marvel, but all at once? That is what I am not sure about the most. When does gunslingers occure? Is that what happends at the side tabels?
Sorry, I know it's a lot of questions. Maybe somebody else that was there could possibly answer for me.
Thanks

The "specific universe" tournament were ran at the same time last year which was an excellent time saving maneuver. Sure, it forces a player to pick just one but, in the end, it worked out very, very well. Gunslinging last year happened in the "auction" room which was separate from the main tournament room. It was the only table in the room and that also worked out quite well since whenever a player got eliminated, they could just walk over and play a round. Side tables were generally just whatever wasn't being used during the tournament, as far as I could tell. When the primary games were in full-swing, the only the real open table was the Gunslinging scenario board. However, after a round or two there was usually a few tables open with people playing exhibition matches. I might be wrong and there may have been true "walk up and play" tables and I just didn't get a chance to use them since I was generally in the thick of things during the tournie. Hope that helped

I hope there's time to have everyone play all 3 universes in a single elimination tournament, round robin or otherwise. I've got a 100 point shooters team picked, and a 100-point Univercentric (is that a word?) team chosen for each universe as well as a 200-point Open tournament.
The only thing I want to know is the restrictions on figures and I am set.

I don't think Univercentric is a word...yet. Lets put it on the agenda for the committee, I'd love to see a tournament type named that .
