1. Will you attend TixCon 2008 if at all possible? It would take a pack of wild and rabid banthas to keep me away.2. How many in your group, including non-playing family members? 2-33. Would you be able to stay for two days of play (Saturday and Sunday)? Most likely, no. I could see what I could do though.4. Are there any other games you would like to see scheduled besides Attacktix and HeroScape? Marvel Heroscape would be cool. I would not be interested in playing Heroscape. Only Marvel.5. Are there any events from last year you consider a "flop" that we could do without? Didn't attend last year (baby boy born).6. Do you have any ideas for new events this year? You could set up a small hoop and have us use the new Spiderman (ball thrower) and see if we can make baskets.7. Would you be willing to volunteer to run an event or some part of the con? Giddey Up! Put me on the list. 8. Would you buy a TixCon t-shirt? Yes.9. What would you suggest to improve the event? N/A10. Any other comments or suggestions... I will think about this. Thanks! - Brett

I'll follow greyelephant's lead and make this whole ditty public. I've got nothing to hide. 1. Will you attend TixCon 2008 if at all possible? Absolutely. As long as it wasn't scheduled during the middle of an ice blizzard or a family event. 2. How many in your group, including non-playing family members? Anywhere from 3-5, depending on if my ma and older bro come along. 2 of those would be definite players, 2 possible players, 1 non-player. Otherwise it would be like '07: Grievous, Jango, and Pops as a chauffeur. 3. Would you be able to stay for two days of play (Saturday and Sunday)? Probably. We were considering staying the night at '07 anyways so why not do it for a better reason than just not wanting to drive at night? 4. Are there any other games you would like to see scheduled besides Attacktix and HeroScape? Not really. Tix is the only game I'm hyper-interested in. Maybe Star Wars: Pocket Models if I start collecting those but I personally think that the more time that can be devoted to Tix, the better. 5. Are there any events from last year you consider a "flop" that we could do without? I don't think so. They all served a purpose and went well. 6. Do you have any ideas for new events this year? Sadly, no. Other than random sidegames (like the "Choose the Opponent's Team" game that Radar came up with), I think you got the big ones down at '07. Maybe a 100-point open if it goes two days so their is time available... 7. Would you be willing to volunteer to run an event or some part of the con? Sorry, no help here. I am no good at running things. I generally just screw things up ;D 8. Would you buy a TixCon t-shirt? If I have expendable cash at the time, absolutely. 9. What would you suggest to improve the event? Slightly less slick battle boards. I dunno if that's possible but I had some problems with my tix wheel sliding every once in awhile because I wasn't used to that type of board and the pressure needed to keep the wheel Tixing. 10. Any other comments or suggestions... TixCon '07 was absolutely great and I don't think there's much that could be seriously improved upon other than having more time for more games. My only real regret about TixCon was that while I was able to play a few of the people I wanted to (Superfly, Yaggleberry, notacomputer, Radar, Ben Kenobi & Bobafetch), I wasn't able to play people like DoNP, Cona Chris, Malform, Phoenix, or Yodabreaker simply due to not having enough games/choosing the wrong division. I also wasn't able to get a Gunslinging round in due to time. That's not at all the fault of the booking team, you guys jammed as much Attacktix gaming into the day as was humanly possible. It's just the fault of the immortal ticking of the hand of time. Two days would rectify the situation with the problem of getting people to stay/come for both days. It's a trade-off that would require investigating but could make TixCon even better as long as there are people who can make it for both days.

Absolutely, I will be there.
Anywere from 2 to 4.
Most likely, yes.
No.
No.
I wouldnt mind seeing the "chose your opponants team" kind of game going on.
Absolutely
I certainly would, and I would wear it proudly!
Concessions would be cool. It would be really cool if you could talk hasbro into making official tixcon prizes (would love some tournament transformers!), but failing that I think what you did last year (for prizes) was great
Im low on ideas at this time.

1. Will you attend TixCon 2008 if at all possible? Yes!2. How many in your group, including non-playing family members? Just me3. Would you be able to stay for two days of play (Saturday and Sunday)? I'm not sure - it would probably be only one day for me, but I'm not 100% on that.4. Are there any other games you would like to see scheduled besides Attacktix and HeroScape? If there is enough interest - Battlegrounds (Crossbows and Catapults relaunch)5. Are there any events from last year you consider a "flop" that we could do without? The Shooters Only Matches were fun, but took a long time and we didn't get to finish that tournament, so maybe drop that one in favor of adding double-elimination to the 200-point or something like that.6. Do you have any ideas for new events this year? "Target Practice" - You set up figures at varying distances and then you pick whatever figure you want and you get 5, 10, etc. shots to see how many you can knock down and figures are worth points depending on base size and distance away.
I also like Radar's idea of choose your opponent's team7. Would you be willing to volunteer to run an event or some part of the con? I would be willing to help yes.8. Would you buy a TixCon t-shirt? Sure!9. What would you suggest to improve the event? Nothing comes to mind - although at Tixcon 2007 I was hoping to see the SW5 figures on display (I know you have them!) 10. Any other comments or suggestions... Nothing comes to mind - I had a blast last year and look forward to the next one.

1. Will you attend TixCon 2008 if at all possible?Absolutely, unequivocally, YESYESYES. 2. How many in your group, including non-playing family members?I'll never bring the fam again to anything tix-related. They SUCK. And with my luck, Aunt Flow will be in town again and my time will be ruined AGAIN (see Jon's ToA in Michigan....) 3. Would you be able to stay for two days of play (Saturday and Sunday)? Not likely, but if the event is going on that could change. I could share a room with Chris ;D Make that a suite.... 4. Are there any other games you would like to see scheduled besides Attacktix and HeroScape?Nope. I'm interested in SEEING heroscape as a curiousity only, but seeing as we ran out of time last year I'd really rather see the focus on Attacktix, and start the events earlier. 5. Are there any events from last year you consider a "flop" that we could do without?Nope. Flawless. Just start earlier. If anything, I'd remove the 100-point Universe Centric in favor of more open tournaments as I like to mix-it-up and it would allow more diverse people to play against each other - people tend to stick to the universe they like and I'd hate to see InvaderJes and DoNP playing each other again to the exclusion of playing people they've not played before. 6. Do you have any ideas for new events this year?I'd like to see the 100-point universe-centric, 100 point shooter, 200 point open as well as a 200-point universe-centric and 100-point open tournament added. I'd drop the universe-centric tourneys for more open tourneys or perhaps double elimination. 7. Would you be willing to volunteer to run an event or some part of the con?Sure. I'm easy. 8. Would you buy a TixCon t-shirt?Sure as long as it's less than 15$. I get most of my tees for 3$ at goodwill. ;D 9. What would you suggest to improve the event?START EARLIER. Add 100-point open, and 200-point universentric. ALSO-Figure out a better 'bracket' method. Last year was a bit convoluted if I recall, and it ended up that some people were miffed. Finally, make each table a REFEREED game. I saw certain Xavier6 people, who I will not mention Xavier6 doing some outlandish stuff with no impartial judge to stop it. There were several controversies out of last year's event that were due primarily to the lack of oversight, one of which REALLY REALLY pissed me off. 10. Any other comments or suggestions...Make sure that there is a rulebook there that is available to everyone that the referees can turn to, and that is the overriding authority (buck stops here). This goes a long way toward making these events a "sponsored, reliable" event that people can look to as credible for future events.

Most likely 4. Myself, Midnight Majick, Himura297, and Arduis "Banned from the forum 'cuz I got a big mouth" Cane. 3. Would you be able to stay for two days of play (Saturday and Sunday)?I would try my absolute best to be there both days if it turned into a weekend-long event! 4. Are there any other games you would like to see scheduled besides Attacktix and HeroScape? No suggestions from me, I'm there to 'Tix! 5. Are there any events from last year you consider a "flop" that we could do without?Everything was fine, other than you beating me in our gunslinging match! 6. Do you have any ideas for new events this year?I'd also like to see a "choose your opponent's team" game. 7. Would you be willing to volunteer to run an event or some part of the con?I'll help in any way possible. 8. Would you buy a TixCon t-shirt?A TixCon t-shirt? You mean I can only buy one? ;D YES 9. 1. Will you attend TixCon 2008 if at all possible? ---Oh, yeah. I've been planning on it or quite some time now. 2. How many in your group, including non-playing family members? ---Just me. 3. Would you be able to stay for two days of play (Saturday and Sunday)? ---Yeah, if I am going to go across the country, I'd prefer to play a couple of days. 4. Are there any other games you would like to see scheduled besides Attacktix and HeroScape? ---Crossbows and catapults looks like fun. Quelf is an absolute riot that will make many good memories amongst friends. There is also a game I think called Flick car where you "race" a disc across a track by flicking it. That looked fun too. 5. Are there any events from last year you consider a "flop" that we could do without? ---I thought the auction was a little weak. I was really hoping that people would be more willing to bud and support "Toys 4 Tots", but apparently we don't like the idea of children having toys 6. Do you have any ideas for new events this year? ---Choose your opponents team (all figures must be able to attack, no Captain America) and 2-man teams/2 headed dragon tournament. Anything Chirpa related will be great. What about a video competition? Anybody that wants to can make a 1 minute short animation and premiere it at the con. A game of Attacktix "Horse" (like in basketball) would be cool too. 7. Would you be willing to volunteer to run an event or some part of the con? ---I suppose. It wouldn't be my first time. Yeah sure. 8. Would you buy a TixCon t-shirt? ---Yeah, you got hats too? 9. What would you suggest to improve the event? ---More people. Lets invite the local gaming community (but we might have some space issues then). Music! Star wars, Marvel and Transformers music would be great as background theme. 10. Any other comments or suggestions... ---We should have a lightsaber fighting competition! Thanks! - Brett

1. YES! It was awesome last year and I was only a novice then...
2. DoNP already listed me in his car full, he kinda has to
3. Two days would be great, can you just imagine us all in our under roos having a tix sleep over...
4. Not much into HeroScape, but an area of general gaming while we wait for the next event: magic, pokemon, etc anything works
5. Nope
6. If two days each player can compete in each series, 4 way games, battle case setup and specific battles ie shooters only, strikers only...
7.Of course, I think that would be great if we helped
8.Yes, shirts, hats, stickers are all good ideas an usually easy profit to cover the cost of the event. Maybe someone can whip up some nice draw string bags again?
9. More activities in the second room like other competitions
10. Let me know how I can help

Even though it's more than six months away, the planning for TixCon 2008 is already under way. I need your feedback NOW to make this event the best it can be. Please take the time to answer the following questions, either in post or in PM. (If you PM, please put TixCon 2008 in the subject line.) Yup - as long as my lesson plans can accommodate it, and I don't have any pressing advising deadlines. If Phoenix comes up, then Mrs. YodaBreaker would likely happily make the trip. If not, I may be going solo. Probably more like a day and a half - I'd need to drive back on Saturday afternoon, at the latest. And even then, I might be a bit zonkered. Not really, unless you've got something new you'd like to bring out. The 100-point launchers tourney was long, but it was also a side event. I also second the notion that the auction didn't raise as much as I was thinking it would...very odd. After looking over my old ruleset, I rather like the idea of doubles play. 100 points per player; special powers can apply to (and take advantage of) figures of either player on a side. If all of a certain player's figs are eliminated, that player's out, unless s/he has a figure called into play via special powers or effects. Sure thing. I'm a playa at heart, but I'd be happy to help provide eyes when I'm not playing, or help run a side event in which I'm not that interested. Seeing as how I only wear t-shirts now for yard work, probably not. It seemed like we had a bit of a space crunch. There was no room for side games, aside from the single gunslinging table. It'd be fun to have some additional tables (perhaps in a third room? maybe outside, if it's not snowy like last year?) just for fun. The sooner a date can be settled, the better it'll be for me personally. At any rate, I'd likely need one by early January, as I'll start teaching in mid-January, and the syllabus will need to be set then. Thanks very much for taking such a proactive stance on this to help out!
