Well, first of all, each series gets 24 figures per series minimum (18 booster figs + 4 starter figs + 1 Mega w/ basic fig) so it isn't "15 figures a year". In other words, 144 figures minimum Star Wars figures in 6 years (not counting possibilities like multiple starter sets and tournament sets), not 90.
Second, the key is whether one looks at solely Star Wars Attacktix (as you are) or as Attacktix as a brand. As a brand, we are getting a roughly equivalent amount figures per year when compared solely Star Wars Attacktix. 24 figures per set (minimum) x 3 sets a year (minimum, could change to six if Hasbro aligns all three lines together and releases them twice a year) = 72 figures per year. The average Star Wars set had roughly 37 figures (S1 had 36, S2 had 39, S3 had 35) x 2 sets a year equals 74 figures per year. Almost exactly the same.
As I said, it all matters on whether you are a single universe collector or a multi-universe collector. If you go single series, you're going to be disappointed. Hasbro has shown that they consider it better to have the average 70+ figures spread out across multiple lines rather than compounded into one line. As a multi-universe collector, I personally agree with this decision (allows more innovation, theoretically less repaints/retools, more diverse characters and factions). However, if you're a single universe collector, then you will be massively disappointed.

Well, I think Hasbro is trying to allow Marvel and TF to catch up to SW. Imagine this, a kid who's been a long-time Marvel fan finds out from his friend about these "Attacktix" things. "So they're just Star Wars?" "No, there's Transformers and Marvel too." "Wow! How many Marvel are there?" "Just one series." "What? You told me there were four Star Wars series!" "I know. I think it's dumb too."

My problem with Hasbro isn't necessarily that they are expanding into new Attacktix lines - my problem is that the other lines they are making simply suck. Out of all the lines they could've explored, they decided to go with making new lines based on marginally entertaining movies, like TF, Spiderman, Ghost Rider (this movie totally sux butt!!). I'm all for making new lines of Attacktix - but base the new lines off of something interesting, maybe (gulp!!) from something completely original instead of from a movie. Hasbro needs some help in the creative department, and I do think they are "dumbing down" their actual target audience when they say that Attacktix is ultimately only a kids game and needs to be marketed strictly as one.

Oops. Ya got me. I miscounted (shows my fading interest I guess). Still look at what we have though. 18 booster figs with remolds. Starters are usually remolds. No matter how they re-paint, re-package, and re-sticker them up, remolds are remolds. So the # of absolutely 100% new figs per series is actually less. And yes, I am a single universe collector. ***plays Taps*** I have to give you guys credit for being loyal though. That's what makes a true fan.

No way! Even if they do fade out it will still be a game I'll play.

. . . However, if you're a single universe collector, then you will be massively disappointed. I'm not entirely sure. People snatch up all of the boosters in my area rather quickly. It's rare that I even find a booster from the univese I collect (Star Wars), so I have to say it's not that big of a deal to me. Not to mention I still have to collect the older series. Attacktix new slogan should be, "Gotta buy em' all, ATTACKTIX," a la Pokemon.

Sorry, just saw attacktixrulz rebuttal and have to point something out... Repaints/re-releases are hardly more prevalent in the new sets than the old ones. Proof!

I haven't been able to find any SW boosters in my Phoenix area for some time now. Usually places like Target pull the old stock before releasing the new which makes me hopeful that series 5 is on the way, but I still can't help thinking that the fad is fading. The evidence is in the collapse of the eBay market, and the number of kids in my area who just stop playing and move on to something new after a year or so (like kids do). During the first three SW series, there was an absolutely huge speculation market with insanely high prices. People were pillaging and buying boosters for $8 in hopes just to resell them for profit. This created a large artificial market that was guaranteed to pass once either the market was oversaturated or demand went down. Those speculators have left and moved on.
Also, as a SW only player/collector, IMO series 4 was a huge bust. Cool sculpts that were easier to break. Weaker swings, fewer new figures and less collectability. All of my armies are from series 1-3 with maybe a few series 4 figures sprinkled in. Series 5 looks much more promising as long as the quality control is better.
It seems like fans have been doing much of the attacktix marketing for Hasbro by getting the lines into conventions and shows. This is the best way to reach the public, but for some reason you still can't buy them in comic/collectible shops where the target audience frequents. This needs to be fixed for the line to survive past the fickel interests of younger players who only stay for one or two sets.

All good things must - and do - come to an end. Just watch Apocalypto. I think the beginning of the end just began.

Attacktix will die when nobody buys them anymore. Simple as that. The other thing to remember is that the people at JoeAttacktix.com's forum (us) can always produce in small quantities entire sets of completely new figures. It's not hard to make molds, and there's plenty of info out there on how to mold plastics.

All good things must - and do - come to an end. Just watch Apocalypto. I think the beginning of the end just began. You have no proof in your argument that Attacktix is dying other than that it is your opinion. Get some proof and I might understand your opinion. No disrespect meant (I agree with almost every other post of your's I've seen on this board) but opinion /= fact and I don't see any facts so far. There are no signs that Attacktix isn't selling well, at least where I live. I'm still seeing boosters flying off the shelves, even for year-old product (SW4 and TF1 boosters). The only thing that is stagnating where I live are the SW4, TF1, and Ghost Rider starter sets as well as the SW vs. TF battle pack (actually, I've seen two of those sell in the past months so at least those are moving). My logic for virulently defending Attacktix is as follows: 1. Attacktix is a fun game 2. People like to buy fun games 3. People are buying Attacktix out the whazoo (at least where I live) 4. Hasbro is making money from Attacktix 5. Hasbro is making new product to keep up with demand (we've seen previews for a set that will probably come out in a year, showing that Hasbro must be making quite a fair amount of cash to look that far ahead) 6 (Conclusion). If Hasbro keeps making new product and people keep buying it, Attacktix will not die. Is there a flaw in my logic here or am I missing something? Until someone can give me rock-solid facts that point towards Attacktix being in trouble (not some website or user's opinion) then I can't see Attacktix dying any time soon.

I want Attacktix to die. Then I can get them all on ebay for cheap as interest will wane, and then after that I can sell them (10 years down the road) at a confiscatory rate to hard-core collectors. ;D
