Wait... uh... what?
Your argument always was along the lines of:
"The new series suck. The old ones rocked. I don't like Marvel or Transformers. The new ones have to many re-releases, retools, and repaints. Why can't we go back to the old ways?"
My post 100% proved that there are exactly the same amount of re-releases and repaints as in S2 and S3 combined and only three more retools. THREE! Is having THREE more retools than ol' S2 & S3 really that big of a jump? Does that extra 3% of "Res" really mean the difference between the horror you seem to have with the new sets and the elation of the old ones?
Nostalgia is a terrible thing if you let it blind you. Heck, if TF2 was replaced with TF3, the new sets would be BETTER than the old ones in regard to "Res" and then you'd really be in a pickle.
Your only argument is that you like Star Wars better. That's fine but it is an opinion. Three percent more "Res" being too much of a change after over two years of figures is an opinion. I see it as an illogical one but that's only my opinion.
Attacktix is selling at roughly the same level as the old stuff from what I can see, the new ones are coming out (starters online, tournament set at BotCon), the fanbase has never been larger (currently tapping into three collector groups instead of one), and the figures are still worth getting.
Don't go selling your opinions as "Fading Facts" when all the facts show that you are absolutely, positively wrong.

Ah, but why work if you get nothing from it? What I was more meaning was that most people work for money which they then spend on necessary items and then on extracurricular desires. If you gain pleasure from nothing in life then why continue living? Everyone must derive some enjoyment from something. I have no proof of this but nothing makes sense otherwise. Oh, and that's the first definition of "fun" that comes up from Dictionary.com. Sorry for not adding in a "primary definition" clause . I'm sure everyone knows exactly what I meant . No, Kevin has no "Humor/Fun" gland. Whatsoever. He works because what he does is important to the world in his eyes. He does NOT do it for some sense of fun or mirth, he does it out of duty. The man is a friggin machine. Speaking of machines, all of you who want to see Transformers but can't get tix or something....EAT MY SHORTS!!! I am seeing it tonight, trying to sneak in a videocam, and going to watch it again at home with the wife! So, in final opinion on this thread, I'd just like to say that you need to look at each individual % AND the actual number of repaint/retool/re-ups in each series. You are taking a bunch of groups of series to prove your points, G, and it is a little lopsided. If you take each individual series and do that analysis, your arguments will be far less compelling. There are a total of 6 series to be released to the public, and there are 3 series that have ZERO repaints/retools. The only retools/repaints are in SW2, 3, and 4. So, if you were to truly look at this, I think people (myself included) are making a big deal because of the three series that have repaints, it's a pretty big chunk of the field that are re-ups of prior figs.

Wow, Attacktix is soooo strong they pulled them from all the stores. I like all the heady discussion about where Attacktix stands, but the hard fact (observable by all senses and can be witnessed by 100% of the people observing) is that Attacktix is not even on the shelves. They are no longer in the stores. I don't know how else to make that fact clear. They are not in the stores anymore. If a product is gaining momentum in the market, the last thing I would expect is to see every one of the products pulled from the shelves and with no space allocated for more. It's like they never exited. I've never seen such a hot item in the market behave like that before. Pulled with no resupply.

Maybe where you are but now where I am.
My Super Wal-Mart has overstock on all the current starters, still has a TF/SW IG pack (actually sold one!!), seven boosters which I'm hoping they restock with the new stuff, and two Spider-Man Tournament packs. My regular Wal-Mart has several current starters and a few boosters as of one week ago.
The only place that I've been to that doesn't have any figures in stock is Target.
To put it simply, your stores don't equal all stores. My stores don't equal all stores. If either of us wants to use that as an argument, they'd have to do some polling on the boards and see just how many people can find Attacktix if they want it. Until then, we both have only our personal experience from our own areas of purchasing which is not enough to make an argument for an entire product that is being held in several store chains all across the country.
And to Superfly, I'll run the numbers on individual sets later. I did groupings because, quite simply, that's the best way I could think of to look at things. Take a year or so's worth of figures (2 old sets, 3 new sets) and then run the numbers. By the end of the year, everything is dancing.

I am seeing it tonight, trying to sneak in a videocam, and going to watch it again at home with the wife! I saw it last night! If you go see it tonight, and there is a trailer of a movie based in new york, with lots of weird noises, explosions, people running and screaming from something you never see... And the statue of liberty's head rolling down the street.... Try and see what the heck it say at the end, I missed it... I have no idea what that trailer was for, and its driving me nuts.

No it is not fading. The reason the hype is low right now is because there is nothing new. And truly if we were not all "big" kids with the internet and jobs we would still be out there searching for the pieces we don't have and buy them with our allowances. For the kid consumer it is fine to mix series and types together to play. For us we want it all and we want it now. So just a little patience is needed and we can make it until the next shipment of Tix makes it to Walmart.

Attacktix will NOT die out any time soon. It is so awesome!!! It is growing fans every day. A new member joins this board like every day.

*Raises an eyebrow*
I'd like to counter that argument with a simple fact - it's not the number of total members that means anything, but the number of ACTIVE members in a community that defines whether it's growing, fading or steady. Another board I'm part of, only a quarter of the total members are active on a regular basis (or at all in the cases of some members who joined and then never did anything further).
By the same respect, it's not the total number of players that'll define the existance of Attacktix, but those players that actively buy - from Hasbro (I emphasis this because Hasbro makes no money from trades between players or people selling stuff on E-Bay) - new Attacktix figures that'll say what happens. It does Hasbro no good, and thus gives them no reason to make more Attacktix, if no one buys them in the stores.

midnight does have a good point, i'm sure once SW series 5 and TF series 2 hits shelves there will be a popularity explosion. I can't wait till marvel series 2 honestly
