I'm probably going to enter the tournament, not because I think I'm a good player, but because there really isn't any reason not to. I'm already paid up with the really expensive package with the exclusive figures, so I qualify for most everything.

Hit us up when you get there; there'll be Malform, myself, and Yodabreaker in our Sam Spade - Ace Reporter outfits (except for me, who will be in my Ace Ventura - Pet Detective outfit). ;D

Oh, and I'm starting to doubt whether the TF Battle Case will be debuting anytime soon, although I definitely agree with your concerns about it not being around. In my mind, the main reason the SW Battle Cases failed at regular price was because they were priced about twice as high as they should have been (i.e., $20 instead of $10). We saw them drop like rocks on |sf>If you want to figure out how much Hasbro probably charges stores to purchase a battlecase, the rule of thumb for any object is to divide the suggested retail price by four. I usually see them for 17 dollars (Hasbro's web page charges 15 dollars.), so I'd estimate that Hasbro charges stores somewhere between 4 and 5 dollars per case. That would also mean that a store pays around 1.25 per Attacktix booster. Stores generally multiply their costs by 4, so that they only have to sell a fourth of their inventory in order to break even on what is bought. True. That's probably close to the price that the store paid for them. That's the first time I've heard any specifics at all on the case, other than the information on the checklist and starter instructions. Having two different cases actually sounds like a smart idea. After all, even if someone is trying for only one example of each Transformer figure in series 1, it takes more than one case to store all of them. Having two different ones would mean that some people would be willing to buy the cases before owning the figures within them. Those who are completionists would buy both anyway. Also, that might mean that each case would have a matching emblem flag to encourage the possibility of playing "capture the flag" with two flags (one of each emblem) instead of the current 'one flag' rule. Furthermore, from a store perspective, it might cause the cases to be sold twice as quickly as they otherwise would sell. In addition, some Decepticon fans love products that have a huge Decepticon symbol on the object and might be persuaded to get into Attacktix if such a case existed. (I'm sure that might also hold true for some Autobot fans. ) Granted, this is a little off topic for Botcon. However, if the case(s) isn't/aren't released before Botcon, I suppose Hasbro might preview it/them under glass.

Me too. I've got to replace the bathroom that flooded in my NEW HOUSE (grrrr...) and replace a 220V breaker on Sunday. I thought it was this weekend, but now I see it's the next one, so I don't have to worry about the Sharonville Tattoo Convention.

Yep, I'll be there on Saturday. I'll be driving up there early in the morning, so y'all will likely not see me at my best (e.g., who knows if I'll even bother to shave?). Never fear, I'll be there superflytnt, I'm sorry to hear about your basement I've always thought that may be a significant problem with houses with basements, but I always like 'em.

I'm getting a hotel room, and I'll be there for the entire convention. As a major collector, I attend any Botcon I can drive to from Allentown, Pa. If any of you guys want to see the exclusive stuff, let me know. I've already reserved my set and I'm getting there thursday night and am buying any of the extra exclusives I can get my hands on, which will include any playable Attacktix promos they have.
I definitely plan on being there for the Attacktix events while I'm there.

Is Botcon a nationwide convention or just a local thing? If it is national does it have an official website so I can check it out if it comes near me?

My Aunt was sectretary to the dean of students at Allentown University, most of my family went there, or to Lehigh, and I am originally from Hellertown (back in 1975...)

IIRC, it's been in California twice; three times at Fort Wayne, IN; once at Rochester (?sp), NY; once in North Carolina; twice in Chicago; once in Ohio; last year in Fort Worth, TX and this year in Lexington, KY. I've attended two of the Fort Wayne Botcons, the one in Los Angeles, and I'll be at this one. As far as my participation at Botcon, I'm arriving via plane at around noon Thursday and my plane leaves at around noon on Monday. Most Botcons I've attended have had days cut off; I'm not doing that this year. I'm going to be at all the Attacktix related activities, including the Friday "game night" (ie. practice.). I won't be at the casino event though.
