Ok, here it is: Bobby and I were having a heated discussion on the merits of Yoda, Mace Windu, Sifo-Dyas, Sidious... and we came to a conundrum: Who is the baddest Jedi? Who would whip any sith butt all day long and twice on Sunday? My Vote is Luke Skywalker - he was the chosen one, beat Vader AND Sidious, which no other Jedi could ever do. The only problem with that is that Anakin, in his prime, was the best....what say you?

Anakin was a wuss. General Grievous and Count Dooku fell victim to "Power Creep" in Episode 3.
Yoda is the true man. He lost to the Emperor only because of bad script writing.

The only problem with that is that Anakin, in his prime, was the best....what say you? I think Lucas said somewhere that Anakin really was the chosen one. I wouldn't vote for Luke because he definitely didn't fight Vader in his prime, and for the most part Vader wasn't actually trying to kill Luke. While it could be argued that Sidious let Mace Windu beat up on him in order to snag Anakin, I don't buy it. I think Mace had him beat. And if circumstances had allowed them to continue fighting, I think Yoda would've beat Sidious as well. Picking between Yoda and Mace is tough... but I'll go with Yoda since he's still throwing down at almost 900 years old

Yoda is a beast, but remember that Sidious had EVERY LAST JEDI in the galaxy (well mostly...) killed off like rats. That's some Jedi Mind Trick! Yoda got beat fair and square. He had to go to the swamp to hide, and Obi Wan played dust bowl babysitter. I still say that Luke (ROTJ Luke, black glove and all) would whup Anakin (From Ep. II or III). Remember that Anakin got beat by Obi Wan, fair and square, and Vader never truly beat Obi Wan. So I guess, all things considered, that Obi Wan is the best; he beat Vader TWICE (the death star...he beat him by becoming immortal) and Luke only beat Vader once....still, Luke whipped Vader in the end, and that's why I think he's #1. Yoda couldn't beat Sidious OR Vader (why didn't Yoda do it if he could), where Luke beat both.

Obi-Wan got beat by Count Dooku twice. That's the only reason I don't count Obi-Wan as number one, after all he did defeat Maul and Vader. But Yoda trained Dooku, and would've won their duel if Anakin and Obi-Wan hadn't been laying on the ground about to be squished.
Yoda had to leave against Sidious, there was no way he could get all the way back up there to fight him. It's been a while since I've seen ROTS, but I also believe Sidious had reinforcements coming.
Luke certainly didn't beat Sidious, he was lying on the ground getting burnt to a crisp when Vader took care of the Emperor.

Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Luke can't compare to real Jedi Masters such as Mace Windu and Yoda. Mace seems to be the better warrior, and Yoda is the wiser of the two.

Sidious, I don't think hes so bad because he always has reinforcements (ex. Anakin and Clone Troopers) I think Obi-Wans the best, tied with Mace and Yoda. Mace is a good Warrior we all know that. He COULD have beaten sidious but Anakin came in.
Obi- Wan, we see him take down more sith than anybody In the movies.
But nobody can argue that Yodas the strongest in the force.
My votes for Obi Wan though.

I give my points to Obi-Wan.
Yoda was defeated by Sidious, although whether or not it would have gone differently if Yoda hadn't run, we won't know.
Mace was also defeated by Sidious, but with the help of "The Chosen One" Anakin Skywalker.
Obi-Wan was defeated by Count Dooku, who was in turn defeated by Yoda and Anakin.
Now, take into account this. Obi-Wan was defeated by the man who trained his master, Qui-Gon. Dooku probably knew at least 2/3rds of Obi-Wan's tricks because he taught the man who taught his opponent. Also, remember that Dooku is much older and skilled than Obi-Wan. In response to Dooku being beaten by Anakin and Yoda (and therefore those two being better), Yoda trained Dooku and is also one of the greatest Jedi ever. Anakin, on the other hand, was the Chosen One, he was angry, and he had his mentor Palpatine goading him on.
Also, Obi killed Maul, defeated the Jedi who assisted in the killing of Mace Windu, and only lost his final battle with Vader because he wanted to.
In my opinion, Obi-Wan is at LEAST up there with Yoda and Mace, and I personally think he is better than Windu.

Sidious killed almost no jedi. It was mainly the clone troopers and Anikin. He just gave the order.

I still say it's Luke. Vader is a beast, and he beat Vader. If Yoda was as bad as Luke (remember, if Dooku is a beast and was so because Yoda trained him) then consider that Luke was FAR stronger in the Force than Dooku (Luke was son of the man whose Midi count was greater than any before him, save perhaps Yoda), and trained by Yoda as well, and bested Vader both in battle physically and by his sheer Jedi skills (turned him against his master...using Jedi negotiation/manipulation). Not only did he do all of this, he did it with only minimal training and from a far older age than any of the afore-mentioned Jedi.. Luke was the baddest fo sho.

Mace would have lost to Sidious anyway, but Sidious was stalling for Anakin.
don't believe me? watch the movie. Part-way through the duel, mace is caught with his light-saber to the side while sidious' lighstabers pointed at him. one thrust, and bye bye macie! but sidious allows him to recover.

Honestly NO jedi is the baddest due to one fact. Every sith lost during a moment of arrogence and when his opponent was angered (Dark side trait) in the movies(also note...most of the prequil battles its 2 jedi on one sith). Lets examine. Episode one: Darth maul. Qui-gon dies obiwan gets kicked down the hole and you can SEE the anger on his face (or fear...which leads to anger). Episode two: No sith died and just owned the jedi proper. Episode Three: Dooku. dooku clearly owns obiwan (AGAIN). Anakin has a reason for revenge with the arm thing and defeats dooku being dooku was arrogent (and anakin goes darkside anyways so hes a sith). Anakin. Seriously uber arrogent apprentice trying to kill his master and obiwan screaming (obviously upset and mad) "YOU WERE THE CHOOSEN ONE" (which he was and he did put balance to the force. 2 jedi - 2 sith then in the end 0-0 for both sides due to luke was not a real jedi) Episode 4: No sith loses. Episode 5: No sith loses. Episode 6: Luke defeats vader in a fit of anger. Vader (sith) completes the sith code and kills his own master becoming Lord sith at the cost of his own life.

The Jedi that got angery only got close to darkside control cause they were angery at themselves, not because they were angery at thier opponent. It was hinted subtly that there's a big differance between rightousness and self-loathing. Mace and Yoda were example of rightouss fury, and hense they were never swayed to the darkside. Obi-Wan during his earlier years saw his master die at the hands of Darth Maul, he was overcome with anger not as Maul persay, but at himself, feeling infrior, like he could've done something but didn't, or that maybe he couldn't. I'm not an expert at Star Wars, but from what I can tell the darkside controls those that believe it's irrisistable. Those that get swayed to the sith have had thier confidence broken and thier hope diminished. Luke was really close to the darkside when his world was falling apart, it wasn't cause he was pissed off at *insert big bad guy here* it was cause Luke was questioning his own integrity, Luke wasn't trusting in himself, and The Force.. That's why nearly all Jedi with the exceptions of Yoda and Mace Windu went through a spiritual trial within themselves, because that's human nature and the nature of The Force. They had to ask themselves am I going to let the inevitable happen? Or am I going to say no and use The Force proper? Those that are afraid of failure try. Those that are confident in The Force do. Don't try, do.
