I was just wondering if the photos used by Hasbro for the Star Wars series 5 guide (and those appearing online) are accurate when it comes to proper missiles for each figure, etc.
The obvious examples are Force Blast Emperor (shown with medium missile instead of force blast missile) and Force Blast Kit Fisto (shown with small missile instead of force blast missile). I'm pretty sure that these are supposed to be Force Blast figures but all figures showing up on ebay show (or arrive with) the missiles pictured in the guide. This could be for a few reasons: 1. These are actually the missiles Hasbro intended them to come with and unreleased SW5 figures are being packaged with these items 2. Overseas sellers are just including small/medium missiles with these figures because that is what they assume is correct.
And since we can't trust these figures can we trust any others?
'Ceremony' Luke is pictured with a small missile but wouldn't a more appropriate missile for a 30pt figure be a medium missile? Is the inclusion of a small missile a compensation for his great special and high percentage of that special activating? Both sized projectiles work with his gun so that determiner doesn't work.
I realize that sometimes there is no rhyme or reason to missile size and figure points (10 pt Greedo with medium missile, etc.) so it's hard to tell what might be correct here and what is wrong.
What do you kids think?

I'm guessing that when it comes to S5 figures on Ebay, nothing can be trusted with any of it. I bought S5 Ceremony Luke, and his came with a small missile. Sure it fits and fires, but a medium missile does too. So my guess is that if it fires a medium, it was meant for medium. Same with force blasts. My KF S5 came with a small missile, but a force blast fits and fires. So I'm using the force blast.

I not sure if the "if it fits you must acquit" argument can always be used. Battle Droids can fire a medium missile but is definitely made for a small.
The convention photos are definitely better but still not 100% correct. They show Red Leader with a medium missile but he is a repaint of the X-Wing Pilot - a small missile figure.

I not sure if the "if it fits you must acquit" argument can always be used. Battle Droids can fire a medium missile but is definitely made for a small. S5 Battle Droids fire a new medium missile. And I think that was intentional. S1 Battle Droids only fire small missiles, unless you use the new medium missile from S5, which is essentially a smaller medium head attached to a small missile tail.

That missile you mention I believe is a not so legit one.

Even so, none of my Battle Droids (SW1 or SW5) can use a medium missile, unless you use the not so legit one (or unless your droid is broke or the missile is broke). So my point is, if a medium missile fits the gun, chances are, it was meant to shoot it. There is a reason the missiles have different shaped tails. Like a key. I'm also making the assumption that you are using all of Hasbro's legit missiles: small, medium, large.
