I'm continuing to work on new game play ideas around here and just came up with another - but I need some help. I've always hated that Captain America was on that medium base, it just left him too easy to knock down. After putting him on a big base, I decided that striker Spidey and striker Wolverine needed big bases too.
So now I have four big base strikers: those three plus S2 Starter Hulk. I want to develop a specialized game built around those four characters - three in their improved state.
I'm calling it "Choose Your Hero" where you pick one of the four and then build a team around them to a specific point value. I want the four heroes to have really great special powers, since all four of them stand out among most of the rest of the Marvel super hero world.
So far I have this for Hulk: (54%) If white -> Stand Hulk up and immediately make a free move and attack. I like this for Hulk because it replicates you simply making him more angry.
Cap was moved to a S1 Vader base (broken off arm) so he has a 62% ratio. I want it to be a Recover + something else, but don't know what right now... perhaps the option to either Rally or Recruit? That would tie into Captain America being a great leader and being able to get others into the fray.
Both Spidey and Wolverine were put on Blackheart bases, so they currently have 62% ratios as well. Ideas? I'd like them to fit somewhat thematically but be different enough that you would build teams around them differently.
An initial thought on Wolverine capitalizes on his healing factor. He simply has a regular Recover (regardless of teammates) but if he's black, he automatically regrinds and tries again. He's only out if he's black the second time around. Talk about being hard to kill!
I'm not sure on Spiderman. He does do team-ups but tends to work alone (or am I wrong on that? in my mind he does...) I was thinking maybe something along the lines of his webbing and how it ties up enemies. Perhaps the attacking figure is frozen for the next turn (in addition to a conditionless Recover)?
