It's been quite a ride... thanks to you all for the well wishes. We did come home Tuesday night, and then Chase decided not to sleep on us the stinker! Cindy was able to move up and down the stairs thank goodness, but is not 100%, but gets better each day. Going to the bathroom still presents certain challenges however Chase's bili-reuben count went up yesterday, so now we have this machine in our house that is basically a big light pad on a cord to something that looks like a projector, and the light pad must be kept against his body as much as possible to help break down the bili-reubens which cause Jaundice. At least we are at home and not in the hospital. Chase just got his blood checked, so if it goes down enough we can be done with this, else he'll have to continue being attached to the light pad. And yes, going outside in the sunlight helps as well. Chase is not in serious danger or anything like that - we just need to keep him on the machine and eventually it'll go away - hopefully sooner rather than later. Here is what the "Little Man" looks like under his special light (this was taken at the hospital but it looks the same at home): I asked Malform to send Leumas and Ben Kenobi $1,000 each for winning the contest since I cannot seem to donate money (well, I can but it gets lost!). One of these days I'll actually get around to reading the rest of the board for all those "Post-Chase" messages!

ROFL - The irony here is wonderful! <<The alien creature from The Abyss>> Ahh, c'mon, he's much cuter than that thing! I was thinking more along the lines of.... A Glow Worm! ;D All joking aside, I hope Chase kicks Bill Reuben's butt soon. That suit can't be comfortable for him!

This too shall pass. Hannah had jaundice for the first 2 weeks or so of her life, and although we never had to irradiate her or anything, she came out of it just fine with some good ol' Texas sunshine and a lot of love. Chase has a boatload of the latter, but I suspect that the "Blanket Of Power" will outdo the Lone Star Shine all day long. Can't wait to meet him! Hopefully the blanket will imbue him with super-powers and he will go on to fight crime as.....

Good show, Chris! I think I want a cool looking blanket like that, too.

Jake had to have one too. They always kept him naked so it would be against his skin. He was not a happy baby. In the hospital he was refusing to eat, so I pitched a fit and got the blanket to take him home. Being home worked like a charm. That hospital's treatment of my baby is a very bad memory. Glad things with Chase seem to be just fine.

Well, I'm happy to report that after several days of being under the bilirubin light, Chase's levels have gone down, and continue to stay down even when the machine was off of him! So he is for now machine free. We just are making sure to take him outside in the sun for a while (sun helps with jaundice), but it looks like we are in the clear on that.
Now only Cindy needs to heal up (she's got a lot of stitches from tearing) and we'll be one big healthy family!
