I thought for sure it'd be today because Brett Favre got traded from my team (Packers) to my wife's team (Jets) and she was all excited this morning! |
My gut tells me that was a bad move on the Packers end. I also don't think that the Jets will get but 2 more years out of Farve. I hated to see him go out like this. What a sad ending. We shall see... Favre has jerked the Pack around for years with the retirement thing. Plus, remember a few years ago when Favre wasn't playing well? Before last season, the Pack hired a special trainer to go down to Mississippi to work regularly with Brett in the off season. I guess Brett is a "rep" guy who needs the work. Well, he didn't do any of that this off season... he may not turn out to play half as well as last year. Still the Pack go into the season with 3 QBs, none of which have started an NFL game (2 of which are rookies). Yikes!

The end of an era...maybe you 4 will start heading to 'Joisey' instead of Green Bay for vacations now!

Chris's baby arrived yesterday, and it's a BOY! Congrats to Chris, and whenever he comes out of his 'shock and awe' I'm sure he will post the details!

Cindy had the baby - finally! Only 11 days late but well worth it. It's a boy! Chase Tyler Marshall was born at 8:21 AM on Saturday, August 9. He weighed in at 10 lbs. and 2 oz and was 21.5 inches long! Unfortunately, Chase had his hand up by his head when he was born, causing some damage to Cindy in the birth (Cindy needed surgery afterwards). Cindy has had a hard time being back to normal after all this, she is still at the hospital. She'll be fine in a few days once she gets a chance to heal. Chase has jaundice, and thus has to stay at the hospital as well. We are hoping that everyone can make it home on Tuesday. Chase has several nicknames from the nurses, including "Moose, Haus, and Linebacker". Congrats to Ben Kenobi for being the closest in weight with a guess of 10 lbs even. Congrats to Leumas for being the closest in name (Chase) with Charlie as the guess. I tried sending donations for the $1,000 prizes, but I ended up getting back error messages and have no more money left, so I'll try to fix that sometime in the near future. Here are some pics of my wife Cindy, me, and Chase:

Aww, darthjarjar, so considerate! Extra Karma for you! Poor Cindy! A 10 lb baby is not easy even without complications. Don't let those nurses push you around. It is their job to take care of Cindy and Chase. What a cutie he is, reminds me of my big ol' babies. Jake's nicknames were chunk and bruiser. Love the name Chase. I had picked it out for our kiddos for a short time. Keep me updated on Cindy.

Wow. Looks a lot like you, Chris! We'll pray for Cindy's speedy recovery as well, and Hannah had jaundice when she was born and they told us we had to take her out in the sun for 10 minutes at a spell 3 times a day, so be glad it's summertime! =D
Best of Wishes to the 4 of you!

Isn't Jaundice called Billie Ruben also? I know Jake had it when he was born as well. Something about red blood cells not leaving the body fast enough.
Yes, sunlight is great for them. We had to put Jake in a blanket and under a light as well. The whole process was frustrating. Now he's healthy and care free.

Isn't Jaundice called Billie Ruben also? It is, and for anyone who cares, don't have your child checked for it while wearing a bright yellow shirt (my son was diagnosed with it), IMO mostly because of the reflected light from my shirt onto him (I was holding him). Congratulations to Chris and family, I hope the healing is quick and all are well. If the donation is a problem let me know and I can fix it.
