I figure this coming Saturday for FCBD is a good opportunity for us Attacktix Addicts to take our figures to our local comic/gaming store and introduce people in the public to them. I would imagine some places have gaming tables set up, but contact your local store before hand to set something up.
I'm going over to the Mesa, AZ Atomic Comics for FCBD and figure I'll take a couple armies with me to see if anybody is interested in playing. Anybody else game?

Great idea stvatt! My mom will be visiting from MD for that day so I will not be able to demo the game on FCBD - but joe will be the next day at a local con. FCBD is always a fun event though. I always look forward to going and seeing a packed comic book store (rare!). Here's a link to the free comic book day website, so people can find a shop in there area that is partaking in the festivities: www.freecomicbookday.com/

Unfortunately, the gaming section at my local comics store was used for hosting the Free Comic Book Day festivities, so there was nowhere to set up at table. The funniest thing about the whole day was that it was my wife who dragged me there! She wanted to get one of the General Jack O'Neill figures from Stargate SG-1, and I think setting foot inside the comic store unleashed her nascent inner geek Incidentally, they were passing out promotional Wolverine HeroClix figures, and we got both paint variants of him. After looking at the game rules, I can safely say that I prefer the simplicity of Attacktix.

Glad your wife rediscovered her inner geek YB - did you guys pick up anything else? We went to our local comic book stores too. We picked up the heroclix and of course free comics! The Star Wars one wasn't too bad (Commander Cody storyline, very nice art) although I preferred the Owly and X-Men/Runaways comics the best. Joe read the Transformers & GI Joe comic and I read one titled "Amelia: Funny Story" - a good little girl book. However, no store here was handing out the Stargate figure.

She picked up a Stargate magazine; I didn't find anything else I was interested in. However, wherever I move, I'll likely try doing occasional Attacktix demos (and perhaps try to convince the store to stock Attacktix) while my wife looks around the nearest comic book store. She seemed to be having a good bit of fun roaming around, even with all of the people in there. To be honest, I think she's surprised she has an inner geek at all!
