I have thought of this and became pretty good at it, its called the PowerSlid. To preform this you take your saber stricker and prepare it for an attack. The thing you do differntly is instead of relasing the sword- release the base ( sometimes you must relese both at the same time kinda) this will send your figure flying acossed the field or you can aim it at other figures. If you get mad good you can "jump" over other figures. This works best with my large based and powerfull Darth Sidios. Tell me if this works good for you as it does for me. Good Luck.

Lemme see if I understand correctly.. You release the base (along with the saber) in order to "slide" or jump across the table. Do you use this technique as an attack or more like a movement? So after you move regularly by moving the number of tix, you do a slide thingie to gain more ground during your attack phase? Is this sort of thing legal? I'd like to try it to see how it works, but I wonder if it is legal to do this technique in order to move more after your tix. Do you use this technique even when there are no figs in striking distance to enhance your movement?

I use it to move farther because I use a hudge playing field all the time. I wanted to see your guys take on if it is illegal or not- its technacally you attacking I guess.

I tried that. It is really hard for me to do it. Any special tricks or hints on how to do it well?

I'd say that you have an obligation to keep your base anchored when you attack. I'd also be somewhat surprised if figures didn't fall down during this "attack," at which point you then have to ask yourself if you've really knocked down your figure by so "attacking."

I know what your gettin at but I think that it could be counted as a legal rule. I use big based figure, they are more bottom heavy so the kinda spin insted of slid.

.....So,....could I turn one of my figures backwards and horizontal and hold their bullet as I fire their weapon so they are fired instead of their laser?
My assumption is no and I think your technique has much in common.
I'm going to say illegal. -Radar

If your figure moves while attacking it should be legal, as long as it's not you moving it, just the figure under its own power. You can knock figures into each other and have them be defeated, and if they move without falling then they stay where they are. If you want to use an attack to gain position I would say it's legal. The movement is a side effect of the attack.

I always do this on my first turn. This is a similar technique but requires a Kit Fisto (Dooku works but Kit works better) and a Yoda. Because Yoda is a very hard figure to knock over you can send him more than 14 tix into the middle of the field (it helps to practice aiming too so you don't hit him off the field). Hold Kit's (or Dooku's because he sometimes has the same problem)saber as low as you can but not so low enough to make the inner end of his saber get caught on his body, hold it up to Yoda (make SURE it's touching him) and then release. He should go very far. I'd reccomend only doing this on your first or second turn. Because there's only a few figs that can acctually kill an opponent's figure on the first turn, your basically sacrificing nothing to knock out a few bonus figures. This I would consider legal as the FAQ in the booklet states that you can attack your own figures. "Well I want to attack my figure, I just failed to knock him over."

You guys are trying to fudge a bit on the essence of the game. The object is to take your figs and knock down the other guy's figs using the missle or saber. A saber is used to strike down an enemy. Plain and simple. Sabers don't strike with figs. The figs strike with sabers. Did Darth Vader's lightsaber ever control Darth Vader and use him to attack Luke in the Return of the Jedi? No. And as far as getting more movement -- that's what the tix are for.

I've been trying to get this to work and am having zero luck. More often than not my figure falls down dead. I would also chalk it up as an illegal maneuver.
However, I really like attackevintix's idea of using Kit Fisto to give Yoda a boost. That I would consider to be completely legal, as it really is an attack against your own figure. It's a bit risky, since Yoda being knocked down could very likely take out Kit Fisto as well, but I'm going to give this a try sometime.

I do a similer move with my DarthVader and R2 D2 by flinging my D2 at opponits by sliding the saber between the legs.

Now I hate to bring official hasbro postings into this, but I remember in one of their ask the expert sections they replied to the question "Can I attack my own figures?" and the reply was something to the effect of "Yes, you can, but I dont see why you would want to." So as far as the boosting one figure with another: I say legal. As for the solo figure "PowerSlid" Id say legal but unethical. Do we need a lesson in ethics? DONT CHEAT!
