While the Quick Start Guide does state on page 2 "You can move in any direction" I tend to assume that this means turn your character in any direction and push them that direction forward. Just above the line we both quoted in the QSG there is a picture showing which direction to push. -Radar
Here's what I got back from Hasbro when I asked this question (among others). Basically, you can do a little dance, make a little love, and get down tonight.

Hi Stephen,
Thank you for contacting Hasbro with your question on Attacktix! Perhaps I can bring you a little clarification.
You can do almost everything you listed. Let me see if I can catch it all.
1. You always to grind a figure when putting it back into play. No matter what, when that figure fell, it was out of play. Standing it back up puts it back into play and causes you to grind it before placing it back in it's spot.
2. You can meander along, or move forward a few ticks-turn in a 900 degree rotation if you want to and keep moving. It's all about strategic placement.
I hope that answers your questions. If there is anything else I can help you with, please visit
www.hasbro.com or e-mail me again.

And just to be (painfully) clear, when I say "turn the base around" in "Therefore, I move my figure forward 6 Tix, turn the figure's base around, then move it in the same direction an additional 6 Tix," I mean turn the base around 180 degrees, so that the figure is now facing the opposite directory. Thus, in the first 6 Tix, the player moves the figure toward a destination with the figure facing that destination, and in the second 6 Tix, the figure is still moving toward that destination, but with its back now facing the destination.

Subsequent discussion on this question also led to the following question, which I'd probably need to set up with a situation:
Let's say that I have a striker with 12 Tix worth of movement, and for some reason, I want to keep its special power window in whatever state it's currently in (for example, if I somehow know it's white, I want to keep it on the exact same white space at the end of a movement). Therefore, I move my figure forward 6 Tix, turn the figure's base around, then move it in the same direction an additional 6 Tix. By this way of moving, I'd have advanced the special power window 6 spaces, then I would have retreated the special power window back 6 spaces, leaving it in the original position, all while deriving the benefit of 12 full Tix of movement.
Assuming the Tix window on the top of the base marks the "forward" direction of movement, can you move your Attacktix figures in the way I described above? Or can you only move it forward without ever turning the base?
And if a player can only move each figure in the "forward" direction, does that mean that a player can only move in a straight line? Or can a figure follow any meandering path it wants, as long as the Tix wheel is always turning in the same direction to turn the special power window consistently in one direction (either clockwise or counter-clockwise)?

A group of Attacktix players (of which I'm a part) has recently gotten into a disagreement on the following thread:
attacktix.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=general&action=display&thread=1125181010Basically, we were wondering if a figure that has been defeated but that has its Recover special power activated needs to be ground before being used again in play.
Thanks for your attention!
