Simple repaint of SW(4) starter Han since it was starting to bother me that he had those yellow-striped tan pants and not the proper dark blue with the red Corellian Bloodstripe on them. Not much of an in depth project, beyond the pants the only change was darkening the hair slightly. BONUS: I mixed up a batch of paint for another project and actually made too much of it. Instead of letting it go to waste, I took one of the spare SW4 Starter Chewies that I had and gave it a slightly different paintjob. Since it's still just a Chewie figure and wasn't a planned custom, I'm displaying it with my Han instead of as a seperate project.

This Biker Scout is actually half of a two part project of trying to make the specialist Stormtroopers' armors match their environment - I mean, white armor in the snow, okay. White armor in a city or on a ship, still okay. White armor in the jungle or desert? Why not just wear a "Shoot Me" sign. I will admit though, I did end up making the 'stripes' of the camo too long, which takes away from the 'jungle' look. I suppose a small explanation is needed for the insignia. I have an interest in studying WWII, including Patton. As my army of Clone Troopers and Stormtroopers (Sandtroopers, Biker Scouts, AT-RTs, etc...) grew larger, one of my friends started to jokingly refer to it as my 'Third Army'. Unfortunately for them, I like it and have started painting Third Army insignia on my 'Attacktix Third Army'. This specific Biker Scout has the Third Army insignia on the left shoulder and, although a little difficult to see since the black and olive blends in with the rest of the figure, that of the 83rd Infantry Division on the right.

As I've mentioned before, a few weeks ago one of the local Wal-Marts was having a sale on toys, Attacktix starters and IGS sets included, because of remodelling and I took the opportunity to buy a number of them. While the Starter Han has become a staple of having parts in my recent customs, the other three figures, being more distinctive, have had me at losses until the "Attacktix Third Army" began and I had the idea to turn the Starter Boba Fetts into a kind of 'airborne' Clone Trooper. The painting was easy, black cloth, white armor with green details, but cutting away Boba's cape turned out to be a bit of a pain. The insignia are Third Army on the left shoulder and 101st Airborne on the right. I'm thinking of actually doing a couple more of these.

You have some awesome customs turbomagnus! Do you add something to make some of the figures glossy (for instance your Scarlett Spidey looks nice and shiny) or is it just the type of paint you use? Do tell!

It's the paints. Scarlet Spider, for example, used Neutral Grey for the belt and 'web shooters', Flat Black for the spiders, Chevy Engine Red for the red (yes, you read that correctly, Chevy Engine Red) and a mixture of True Blue Pearl and Light Grey formed the light blue 'sweatshirt'. Subspace, former mutant thief turned S.W.O.R.D. agent after being caught (it was either that or go to jail). It may be difficult to see, but the left arm is one of my first successes at the thumbtack trick when modifying parts, swapping SW s4 Starter Han's open hand for SVT Luke's closed fist. Since Subspace's power of accessing a dimensional pocket doesn't work offensively, he carrys a SWORD-issue stun gun, but since he usually can save himself at the last second with something in his dimensional pocket, the Rescue special still fits. Part/Paint breakdown- Head: SW20(4) Han Solo, unpainted since it's a light hair color similar to Subspace's own. Arms: SW20(4) Han, with SVT Luke left hand as I stated above. Torso: SW20(4) Han, vest was repainted Testors Acrylics True Blue Pearl. Legs: M17 Gambit, legs were painted Flat Black while the jacket tails were painted True Blue Pearl to match the torso, forming a long vest. Part of the jacket piece was painted Neutal Grey as a belt. The 'energy blast' part of the legs was painted Leather to become a rock. Base: Standard M17 Gambit base. Yeah, I end up using Gambit and Han a lot in customs, lots of spares, y'know? Just means more pieces to play around with...

The companion piece to my previously posted Jungle Biker Scout, a Sandtrooper in desert camoflauge. Being a repaint and not a custom, there's no real physical modifications, just the new paint job. Like the Biker Scout, the Desert Sandtrooper is part of the 'Attacktix Third Army', with the Third Army insignia on the left shoulder and that of 5th Infantry Division on the right under the shoulder guard. Part/paint Breakdown - Complete Figure - SW9(4) Sandtrooper; Flat Black on the 'cloth' parts of the uniform, gloves and belt, as well as helmet eye holes and shoulderguard. Dark Tan base coat on armor with Leather and Neutral Grey for the camo patterns, Leather was also used for part of the shoulder guard. The Insignia was done using Chevy Engine Red on both and Light Grey and True Blue Pearl in addition to the Chevy Engine Red for the Third Army insignia. The backpack and gun were left unpainted.

Imperial Stormtrooper SniperThe Stormtrooper Sniper started out as a means to use up the Stormtrooper head left over from my Turbo and Uplink customs (though, ironically enough, I now have a leftover Sandtrooper head) and the head from a Rebel Trooper that had also been used for customs. First I seperated the helmet from the Rebel Trooper's head, then I trimmed down the Stormtrooper head until the black part of the Rebel Trooper helmet would serve as a kind of visor. For a while, this was all there was until I gained a spare Sandtrooper. Since the backpack looked like it was carrying scopes, barrel extensions and stocks for rifles, I decided to use it as the body for my 'Sniper Trooper'. Parts/Paint Breakdown Head: Custom made from Rebel Trooper and Stormtrooper heads, unpainted since both were white. Body: Sandtrooper, shoulderguard painted Testors Acrylics Olive Drab, but otherwise unpainted. Insignia: Third Army insignia painted using Chevy Engine Red, True Blue Pearl and Light Grey; 43rd Infantry Division insignia painted using Testors Acrylics Chevy Engine Red and True Blue Pearl and Citadel Bad Moon Yellow.

That's because after taking pictures of my most recent batch of finished customs, I've been uploading the images of one figure per day.
And from the post itself, "43rd Infantry Division insignia painted using Testors Acrylics Chevy Engine Red and True Blue Pearl and Citadel Bad Moon Yellow. "

Republic Clone ReconWith a good number of Clone Troopers from the Wal-Mart Starter sale a couple months ago, it was inevitable that I'd crack one of them open to see what I could do with it. In the end, I ended up merging parts from a Biker Scout with the Clone Trooper to create a custom unit leader for my Clone Troopers, or as I've taken to calling him, my 'Clone Recon'. In addition to the now-standard Third Army SSI, the right shoulder pad has the insignia for the First Infantry Division painted on it. Parts/Paint Breakdown - Head/Arms: Biker Scout, Chevy Engine Red, True Blue Pearl and Light Grey used for Third Army SSI and Olive Drab and Chevy Engine Red used for First Inf. Div. SSI. Torso/Legs/Base: P02 Clone Trooper, unpainted.
