Yeah but the gag doesn't work as well with the leg-covering hoverchair.

Progress report - I have the chair and the wheels (I'm an idioit....anyone heard of CHECKERS???) assembled. I've taken a grey Imp. Officer, cut a "V" from behind his legs and drilled/glued/pinned them into a 80 degree bend. I then removed the legs altogether, drilled out his.....boy parts.....and slid the leg shafts in there, then epoxied them in and shaped it so it looks like a tuchus.
The chair spring is working exceptionally well, and is awaiting paint. It launches the lil guy about 1 foot (only about 3" off the deck) in the air toward the enemy. I am using a plated printed wiring board for the 'hit mechanism' and a piece of RF shielding for the 'hit pad'. It will sit upright over his head so if you hit him on the pad, it falls back, releases the hinge and launches Prof. X...groovy.
The upright behind his head will also have a 'Cerebro' helmet attached so it makes some semblance of sense.

Alas, the preliminary video is complete - please post comments on changes to the design (not that it will help this late in the project) so I can make changes if needs be. I don't want to hear any bleeding heart whining about how messed up it is about a wheelchair-laden dude getting tossed...IT'S A GAME PIECE....and I already cleared it with my amigo who is wheelchair-laden due to MS. I will paint him after I beat the next level of Fallout:Tactics while awaiting my wife's return from the Horse Track. Here ya go: video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-397550271731838017

ROFL! That is an awesome custom, superfly, that I doubt many people would have been able to think up. Very, very cool and I don't spot any flaws with it. And to those who talk about the fact that it isn't accurate without the yellow, leg-covering wheel chair, this custom is obviously based off the X-Men movie franchise's Xavier where he is in a normal wheelchair.

I often wondered how they could combine the wheel chair with the base of the Attaktix. Great job, Superfly, looks really good!

Oh man...leave it to superflytnt to make the least PC Attacktix figure possible I enjoy the spring-loaded action a lot, and this is the sort of figure I'd play around with just to see how I could use the launching attack most effectively. My only concern is how easy it'd be to hit that flag. Seems like it'd be possible to knock him out of his chair fairly easily from the starting line.

I just removed it and added a Cerebro Helmet instead. The paint is drying, so this is a bit shiny, but.... I painted the "X" on the wheels, which turned out like Sh.. so I will redo that. I painted Prof. X with a black suit and made him a staunch Republican...red tie and matching pocket square. I put white eyebrows on him, and was going to add white ear-hair, but I knew if I did some Trekkie would hunt me down for making fun of 'Picard'... Here Goes:

Sweet! I likes me the mods, and the Cerebro helmet is a nice touch. That should be a harder target for opportunistic snipers

Looks even better than in the video...
But what if an attack knocks Xavier out of the chair without triggering the target? Does it count as a killing blow or do you just sit him and his cup of 'tea, Earl Grey, hot' back in there?

Dead as Elvis...but I thought of that, and the chair has a hole in the center, and the good professor has a peg in his buttocks. I always thought he had a stick up his....never mind. The peg holds him in really well for normal gameplay, movement, and formations. He is pretty heavy, and I am guessing that if put sideways, the wheels can act as a shield of sorts.
The peg is bevelled backwards so that he will release (as you saw in the video) but bumping him is not fatal.

Ok, here comes a stupid question, like it is really relevant.
His base actually never leaves the ground. Shouldn't that technically make him indestructible?
This could actually become the first figure that doesn't have the base knocked over to actually become defeated. S4 Boba had some concerns with his jet pack. But, technically if you knock over Boba, but not his base, isn't he still alive?

No, if boba isn't attached properly and he's knocked over he's dead anyway.
