Addendum to what's in the image: I repainted all the light blue parts, because I couldn't quite match the original color, and it needed a lot of border retouching. I also touched up the medium blue bits in a few places, but had a better match there. I redid the eyes as well. The missile is really puny, if you point it straight up it'll barely make it 10" (25cm), as opposed to regular Attacktix missiles which can reach two meters. ---Dave

Holy smackers, that thing is freaking awesome! The gun is a bit massive for my tastes, even by Attacktix standards, but as a Megaman fan I will forgive it. Any idea what the special power WOULD be if you were able to add one?

Oh, I'm okay with the existing "Attackback: Leader" on it. This is meant to be the lowest-level vanilla MegaMan, after all. There's probably a leader-level one out there too. Mind you, a purpose-made MegaMan would probably have an arm like Hotshot, bigger all the way to the shoulder so that it doesn't have to be as long to accomodate the missile. ---Dave

Aw, MAN! I can't believe it, I bought that same figure to use in a Megaman Attacktix... Mine is looking like it'll end up being closer to Megaman X than the classic Blue Bomber design, though...

Sorry, I generally don't sell my customs. Once in a while I do comissions for friends, or for people who bring me interesting ideas. I did consider doing a Blaster from your request, but ended up inspired to work on a different character (I might have some in-progress pics up tomorrow or Tuesday, but it's still largely a blob).

I figured you guys'd like to see how my latest custom looks before I paint it, so you can get some idea how I hacked up Rodimus to make it. The pale green stuff is Milliput epoxy putty, the white bits are styrene sheet and rod pieces. The base looks so nice because I removed the figure first, I'll glue it back down once I finish painting. Probably have it done painting tomorrow or Thursday. Before spring break ends, in any case. ---Dave

What type of tools do you use to make the 'isometric' shapes? I admire your incredible eye for detail, and wonder if there's any tips you might offer on modelling the milliput. Also, your labels are quite nice, better than my inkjet can muster. What material and printer type do you use?

I use a Dremel (sanding and cutting wheels) and files of various sizes for most putty shaping, plus some knife work. I do end up with an awful lot of putty dust all over everything. It's important to let the putty cure 24 hours or so first, though, or everything gets gummed up. I lost a sander wheel on this project because I was impatient and started shaping too soon. It also helps to have a wire brush head for the Dremel to clean the gunk out of my files. The softer plastic of Attacktix figures tends to filament when Dremeled, though, which is annoying, and it's really hard to get all of it off.
Some of my labels I print on my cheap inkjet (edit: HP with the 27/28 cartridges) at home, especially the ASH-related ones where I need to make my own faction symbols. Mainframe's I printed on the B&W laserjet at work, and colored the specialist symbol with a marker. The Autobot symbol is from Reprolabels.com.
