Good find, starguy. That has some of the clips I was looking for; gave me a good taste. Is it just me, or is Topher Grace a little too, well, small for Eddie Brock? Big, bad Eddie ...Topher Grace Well, anyway, he may do well acting.

In this interpretation of Venom they purposely didn't want to go for the body builder image. One of the overriding themes of the flick is Spider-man's dark side and the duality therein and the advertising makes great use of reflections and mirror images. In keeping with that theme they wanted a Eddie Brock who was more of a physical match for Peter Parker (Toby M.) and thus Topher got the nod.

Oh, I see what you mean. Well, whatever works. Two more things I don't get: - Why are they making Flint Marko the actual killer of Uncle Ben? That sort of takes away a little bit the the story from the first Spider-man movie, and all the guilt Peter had for letting his Uncle's killer go is now gone. - Is Harry going to be a villian in this movie? If so, that may end up making the movie really crowded. Peter's want for revenge on Flint Marko, the Sandman, the Symbiote costume, and the creation of Venom at the end can all blend together pretty well, but add in the New Goblin, who has some phsycotic need to kill Peter, armed with some homemade flying skateboard with more attatchments than a Swiss Army knife, may make it a little off balance. But it still is going to be a good movie!

That sort of takes away a little bit the the story from the first Spider-man movie, and all the guilt Peter had for letting his Uncle's killer go is now gone. I personally don't think that having Sandman be Ben's killer takes away from Spidey's guilt. That comes from the fact that he didn't stop him for the police which would have stopped Ben from being murdered. Heck, Spidey's already confronted the guy in Spider-Man 1 so its no different bringing him back. In fact, Peter's guilt can be increased if Sandman commits another horrible crime (like kill Aunt May or something, I don't know...) which means he could have stopped both Uncle Ben's murder and whatever horrendous thing Sandman does if he would have just stopped him for the cop in the first film. Here's the way I see the entire movie going down. Note that I haven't read any leaked scripts (if any have been leaked), press releases, or anything else, I'm running off of pure thought process and what I would do in the writer's shoes: 1. First twenty minutes has Peter's life being perfect and all until Sandman crashes the party. Sandman utterly defeats Spidey in their first confrontation. 2. Spidey gets Symbioted and then goes and beats the living daylights out of Sandman. He doesn't feel much remorse for this but does realize he went a bit "dark". This section ends at roughly the fifty minutes point. 3. Normal daily stuff happens until New Goblin/Harry appears and there is one minor confrontation before a big old showdown. This ends with Peter Parker killing New Goblin in a fit of rage at the one hour-twenty minutes point. 4. Lots of Spidey angst over killing his ex-best friend. Parker realizes it is the Symbiote making him so evil and gets rid of it in the church, causing the formation of Venom after one hour-forty five minutes. 5. The last forty-five minutes is pure action. Venom does crazy stuff, Spider-Man has to stop him, massive confrontation at the end. However, Venom will NOT die in this film but will instead escape at the end of the film which would be roughly two and a half hours long. There you go, three villains plus the symbiote in one movie. I'm not even a professional script writer so I'm sure the movie people can figure this one out even better than I can.

Hm, okay, I can see how that would work. Unlike the previous movies, the villain is more of an inward thing. I should I have known with all of the posters and images of Spider-man's suit half red, half black. Going to be a cool movie.

As usual Grievous, you are completely off base with your script. Here's how I see it going down.
First Spider man is walking through the streets of downtown caring a basket full of goodies that he is taking to his grandma. He walks to the park where he meets Sandman for the first time. Spidey realizes that he hasn't enough goodies for himself, Sandman, and grandma, but decides to share anyways. He puts a blanket down and gives Sandman a goody and they talk about all the adventures they have had. While they are talking, Harry comes by on his new flying skate board. He is jealous that he didn't get invited to the picnic and decides to steal the rest of the goodies to get even. After a battle that lasts around 10-15 minutes, Sandman and Spidey defeat Harry. They both feel bad after wards and offer Harry some goodies so that they can all be friends. Later Venom comes by caring some juice, so they can all wash down the goodies. They all leave on good terms saying that they simply must do this again, when Peter realizes that he has no goodies left for him grandma. When he gets home and shows grandma what he has done, she locks him in the basement until he finally decides that he wants to do a Spider man 4.
The end.

and remember gang... some of the commercials 'allude' to the fact that Flint 'may' be Ben killer, but we have no idea what plot twists await us.

Haha, nice. Here's a website I found with a lot of cool stuff about the new movie, including some trailers *I* have never seen before. Enjoy.

Okay, I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong and it appears that my plot synopsis prediction is a bit out of whack. No, greyelephant, not because what you said is right but because I just watched the trailers on the site Ben posted. It appears that New Goblin shows up early in the movie. My new synopsis is the same as above but New Goblin vs. Spider-Man and Spider-Man vs. Sandman are the opening fights, then Spidey finds the Symbiote leading to Symbiote Spidey vs. Sandman where Spidey utterly defeats Sandy. New Goblin vs. Symbiote Spider-Man is next and that is where Spidey kills Harry. Spidey angst leads to the creation of Venom with an awesome showdown to end the flick. Speaking of Venom, I grabbed some screen captures of him from one of the trailers I watched. I don't know if anyone has seen them before but I think they're pretty interesting. I'll see if I can't clean them up so he's more visible later. Here's Venom playing peek-a-boo and grabbing Spider-Man from behind: This is Venom in mid-air: Finally, Venom swinging on his Symbiotic web line o' death:

Wow! Venom looks even better than I originally thought. Movie looks great.
Ok, so, maybe I am a little off on my whole plot. ;D

I'd just like you to know, greyelephant, that the entire time I was reading your heart-warming synopsis for film, I was imagining the characters all looking like this. Adorable, aren't they?

Well so far this whole movie sounds like a remake of the comics! (As far as Venom goes, and Peter having to fight Flint and Harry at the same time)
Does anyone remember the end of the 2nd movie where there is a bunch of sirens and copters going everywhere???
I belive they were going after Flint Marko! (kinda crazy) Then as the comics go, Pete fights Sandman then gets his butt kicked and leaves! Then it goes to night and "New Goblin" (Harry) Comes out of nowhere! (the wierd thing is that Pete doesn't sense Harry coming!!! Even with Spidey sense!!!) So they have their fight, Harry ends up with the "Scar" then the Symbiote suit comes into play, Pete likes it and feels total power (as the suit decieves it's host) But when Pete senses something strange about the suit (such as ever sense he got it he wants to kill all of his enemies instead of spair them...) and Pete takes it to Conners for examinging. Then they find out the "Suit" is alive and it wants to take over Pete! So he goes to the Belltower and gets the suit of and Eddie is there! The suit drips onto him and he becomes the freakin awesome villain everyone knows as VENOM!!! So then Pete is having a good time and Venom starts dominating! So they have a fight, but since Pete's Spidey sense doesnt work on Venom (he doesn't know that) So Venom kicks his butt, then Pete strikes back and the movie is left off with everything going into total chaos!
Then in the next movie they get Johnny Depp (with red hair) to play Cletus Kasady (better known as the serial killer CARNAGE!) lol.......I really want to know who thwey will get to play Cletus....Carnage is cool becuase he can't be fought by Spidey alone...so in this movie (if this is the plot) Venom and Spidey team up for the 1st time (the 1st of many)....
Still can't wait for this movie!!!
