My New Goblin has a weak spring as well... If I shoot it straight up, it will barely come out of his arm.

I got a tourney yesterday with my brother he kept sandman and new goblin and I got venom and Spidey. His new goblin has a pretty weak shot and his sandman can barely shoot. As for my figs venom is about as hard to knock over as cheif chirpa and he fires VERY fast. I have a question thoough on my spidey he doesnt spring attack I have to move him with my finger, is this how he is supposed to be or not?

You might be able to contact Hasbro through its site and see if they can replace it or something.

I think he has one of the longest strings, if you get close enough it doesn't matter how far he shoots. You can get a great "uppercut" using the missile.

Got my Tourney set this last weekend - Venom is my favorite out of the pack! He's awesome! He looks great and he packs a punch (or spittle), and due to his low stance, harder than crap to knock over. My Goblin has a bit of a weak spring, but I think his missle is a bit large for anything extraordinary. As soon as I saw how big his missle was, I expected his attack to be weaker. He's pretty effective at close range though. He's definitely not a sniper. He's pretty hard to knock over, so overall he's fairly effective if you use him properly.

I guess I've been lucky that my New Goblins have had relatively robust springs. It seems like the techno-pumpkin is a bit more massive than the Green Goblin's jock-o-lantern, allowing it to have a bit more of a punch when it comes to giving those up-close-and-personal flight attacks of which I'm so enamored I definitely appreciate the ease of placing New Goblin's pegs back into the base, that's for darn sure!

I just picked up a tourney set today and I have to say my New Goblin is a beast. In my opinion hes harder to knock over than Venom and mine is stronger than Venom. Also, I think hes a much better sniper than Venom because you don't have to have a straight shot. Plus I played a terrain match against Copes and just hid Goblin behind a DVD case and lifted him over it to shoot. He and Venom kinda dominated that game.

I hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate playing against Venom and New Goblin. Taking them down was the most difficult attacktix problem ive encountered since I began playing last summer. I failed.
IMO Venom should be 40 points. On the subject of New Goblin, Jaws' managed to snipe my force push Obi (who hadnt died in the last four games we've played) from a good two and a half, maybe three feet away. Plus, I couldn't take him down with repeated strong base shots from Bossk and accurate force blasts from Obi and Mace. All three fell to NG in the next few turns.
Absolute and complete bull. I'm yet to find a way to take em down.

It sounds like you'd benefit from learning how to use strikers in formation to advance over even a long playing field. I've done so successfully over playing fields around 8 feet long. Yes, I know you guys say that you don't play with 'em, but if you're not willing to engage in 70-75% worth of the strategy in Attacktix, that's not exactly the game designers' faults

Well the problem in using strikers with us is that the playing field is so long and were both so deadly with certain shooters that we trash them before they can get anywhere close enough to anyone. Plus we usually play between 7on7 and 10on10 and when it takes like almost 10 turns to reach the middle of the table its very hard for anyone to reach it unless they are a tank (like fp mace and new goblin).

Perhaps I've not made myself clear. What formations do you use when trying to advance figures? How do you position your strikers to minimize their profiles while advancing? What strategies do you use when playing with only launchers that you might be able to exploit if a striker were thrown in the mix? Have you even tried playing with more standard table sizes? Have you thought about giving your strikers additional Tix, if you think they're underpowered?
As I said, I've successfully played against great snipers on tables over 8 feet long with striker-heavy teams. If you're using the right strikers, you can reach the midpoint of a 10-foot table in 5 turns - and with R2-Q5, you can give a Trooper a doubled speed on most of your turns, which can really help close the gap in the endgame. Keep them formed up to prevent launchers from taking them down prematurely. Use the terrain that you've described (when available) to protect your advance. Once you close, fling your opponent's figures into each other. Alternatively, use cheap striker bait to fling your own figures into your opponent's - this can be done up to 15 feet. See my sig for some tutorials about this.
You can also use figures' special powers to nullify certain figures. Worried about tournament Venom? Put an S2 striker Grievous on your team, whose defeat will let you remove a Warrior (of which tournament Venom is one) 69% of the time. Wanna get rid of New Goblin? Pack a couple of Grand Moff Tarkins on your team to give you a 79% chance of taking out at least one of 'em with Tarkin's defeat. Western Ghost Rider will take out the figure that defeated him 50% of the time. Think about how special powers other than Vengeance might also impact your team's survival (e.g., so what if you knock down Starter 2 Kenobi? If you've got Troopers standing, he'll Recover 69% of the time).

Unfortunately, formations are difficult because we have rules not allowing figures to touch (or using guns as tripods, etc.)
Still, I'll definitely be willing to give it a shot. And thanks for the tip on striker Grievous, mine will definitely be in next game.
