This was the scenario I had happen in a game I was playing:
I was playing with Pole-Swining Spider Man. His team had five figures in play: Himself, Thing, Avengers Spider Man, Electro and Western Ghost Rider. I was playing against Green Goblin, two Sabertooths, and two Jedi Knights. Heres what happened:
I advance Thing, Avengers Spider Man, and Electro to attack a Jedi Knight and the two Sabertooths. First, I used Thing to kill a Jedi Knight. The Jedi Knight was white, and gave the other Jedi Knight an Attackback, which was used to kill Pole-Swinging Spider Man, who happened to be in range. Spider Man failed to activate his rescue.
Here's the question: Do I still get three attacks that turn since Spider Man was in play, or do I only get two because Spider Man died before I could perform the third attack?
It would have been moot, since the Sabertooth next to Electro which would have been the third attack was white(I checked), but I ruled only two attacks would occur. Is this right?

That's very interesting! The Leia + Han/Luke as ST combo is the closest similarity I can think of. What would happen if Luke as ST shot down a Jedi Knight, who then triggered an Attackback for another Jedi Knight, and then that Jedi Knight knocked down Princess Leia? In that scenario, I would say Luke's attack doesn't count against you, because Leia was still in play when he attacked.
However, it seems here that Pole Spidey has to stay around the entire time, since no specific figure is getting the extra attack. So yes, I would agree that you played it correctly.

I agree that you would only get two attacks... for the "free" attack to work, the figure enabling it must be in play when it occurs.
So in your situation oblivion, I agree that 2 attacks, and not 3, were appropriate.

This is an interesting situation. I can see the ruling either way, since you did have the spidey at the start of your turn, you could get 3 attacks, but you have all made a very good argument that once the spidy is removed that is no longer the case and since the special occurs immediately and not at the end of the turn, that would change how the spidy effect is used.
I would agree here that only two attacks would be available.
