I've heard people complain that when using Hulk, he tends to throw the barrel too high, over the heads of the enemy figures. I've found this to be true myself, but I've also found a remedy. You take his upper torso and rotate it 180 degrees, so he's facing backwards on his base. He is in an entirely different position, and though it takes a little care, you can put a very small amount of pressure on the spring to throw the barrel and hit things with it.

I find this interesting, my hulk tends to throw his barrel about 1 inch in front of him. I have found a remedy to mine too though, I place my pointer finger between his legs and angle him up slightly. Then I pull the barrel back with my other hand, and then press my pointer finger down hard.
The result is a "incredible" hulk barrel throw. I have been practicing all afternoon with him and I have got him knocking over thing and optimus from 12 clicks away. If only he was 30pts he would be in every team for me.

To add to my post, I played my first two games last night and both were 200pt marvel battles.
With out a doubt, hulk was the best on the field. Once you get good with him he is devastating. Prolly the best shot I made with him was in the 2nd game and my first turn. I was able to knock over his hulk with mine from my starting position and his hulk at his starting position. I think it won the game for me.
If you haven't played around with hulk yet, definitely start trying him out. Once I get a few more M1 Spidey's, a hulk and 6 spidey's will be killer.
