Hey! Does anyone have any attack strategies for the starter set Wolverine? (His arm often shifts out of shape while pulling back)

I haven't really used Wolverine much yet.
I have two of them. One is really loose in the arm, and the arm flaps around when you release it, if you can prevent yourself from releasing it early, which is hard. One is fairly tight and works normally.
In any case, its not an earth shattering figure for 30pts, and I'd need to have that strike proven reliable before I'd trust the figure.

I've found his strike to be quite unreliable as well. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but after a couple games of using him and about an hour trying to get his strike down I decided he had no place on my team.

You can rotate his arm around so it sort of points backwards and try that if you are having problems...

I've seen some serious dud S4 Lukes as well, not to mention his saber angle is horrific. What a bitter irony for Luke at the height of his movie Jedi skills to be such a sucky figure. Likewise, I find it ironic for Wolvie, who's all about the hand-to-hand combat, so be such a sucky striker fig. I guess I'm glad I don't have him yet...

I have to agree (unfortunately), my Wolverine sucked as a striker too, especially with such a short range I expected more for 30 points. Fortunately, a little super glue has made him easy and reliable.

From the sounds of it both Wolverines from this set seem to suck (I'm just going by what people have said here). Which is really suprising seeing as Wolvie is a huge character for Marvel in (they try to shove him into every book they publish). But just like it is with Star Wars (Darth Vader, Luke, Han, etc.) I'm sure almost every set will feature a Wolvie so perhaps a future set will have the definitive Logan.

I've figured out a great way to use SS Wolvie. I don't! I go with the one from the boosters.
10 points less better special has an effect more reliable (at least for me) on attacking

Well I have the booster wolvie and he really is a good deal despite what people say. He moves in fast, his punch is weaker then other proders but if you hit them in the chest they usually fall, he then gets killed but he might stand back up and he was only twenty pts to bein with so if you took out a 40 pointer you're in the black anyways.

I think hes a decent striker.. Decent, but certainly not great. I can KO just about any figure on the first strike with wolverine. Hitting bigger figures like thing or venom seems to work best when you go for the shoulder area.
His arm does seem to want to rotate at his shoulder when pulling his arm back to strike, but I seem to be able to control that with a little practice. Also I have found that if you turn his arm all the way around so that hes holding it out from his back it tends to rotate much less, and can still render a KO hit...
All in all like I say, I think hes decent. But I think he may be a little to costly at 30 points... He should be 20, max. :\

Hey guys, I just added a review of Wolverine from the Starter Set to Master Attacktix and I included a picture on what I consider to be the ideal way to strike with him. When I use him that way he's just as effective for me as any other traditional Striker.

I also like your wolverine review very much. Your take on how to pull back wolverines arm is interesting, it didnt occur to me. I was putting my pointer finger at the tip of his claws, and placing my thumb right around the shoulder area. That made it easier for me to keep his arm from rotating, but also made me fear unnecessary wear on his shoulder joint. Also, I have to give you props on your very creative rating system you have set up... I really like the "were expecting" one.
