Marvel has Hulk, Blade, Spidey, Fantastic4, X-men, Elektra, Daredevil, and maybe something else, I don't know. DC has Batman, Superman, All the Justice League stuff, and I think Teen Titans. Yet again I might have forgot something. Phoenix probably has the answers to your questions.

Growing up, my favorite cartoon was the Superfriends... (a.k.a. Justice League) especially the Challenge of the Superfriends in which they fought the Legion of Doom. However, I was deeply troubled by the fact that Spiderman was not apart of the Superfriends... I never could figure it out and was confused when people explained it was because Spidey was with a different company. Darned politics getting in the way of crime fighting super-villians! The Challenge of the Superfriends is available on DVD, I picked it up a couple years ago. Fun to relive it, although I seem to find many holes in the plots as an adult

Green Lanterns, Flash, and Superman rock, my vote's DC. Who can mess with Superman? The man is SUPER. Nuff said.
Then there's Green Lantern. They're space police. Space police are cool. Look at Buzz Lightyear! He's cool.
And everyone loves the Flash. He's really fast. Like electrons - fast.

In my eyes, they have more believable stories (some more than others), and a lot of the guys are just average people with incredible powers. I love Spiderman's "down to Earth" attitude. He's a regular guy that has to juggle life and his sudden plunge into the world of super-powers. Just my preference!

Average guys with extraordinary powers??? Are the X-Men ordinary? What about Silver Surfer and Galactus? Apocalypse? Fantastic 4? These are a far cry from ordinary.
DC on the other hand has a lot of average (or above average) guys, like Batman, whose power is simply to be a lunatic with a vast amount of cash...the Flash (various versions) were ordinary pukes that got superpowers through similar events to Spidey...
I dunno, I like them both, I guess. I think the writing for Marvel is far better, but DC has some really cool art, a lot of great graphic novels, and some very interesting stories.

Yes, that's why I said "some more than others". Also, I agree that a lot of it has to do with the writers. Marvel's always seemed to have more compelling plot lines.

Yeah, you're dead on there. Some of the older stuff from DC was great, but I think Marvel's writers and editors are now a ton better.

I don't read any comic books at all. However, I would have to say I like Marvel better. I grew up as a kid loving Superman and Friends. However, when I got a little older (but none the wiser) I liked watching the cartoons of Spiderman and X-Men. If I had to choose between reading a book about Superman or the X-Men. I would be reading the X-Men. More characters with unique personalities IMO.

The plots of marvel are better, but superman is awesome, though spidey would destroy him easily along with all of DC. GO MARVEL!
