I did a search and found nothing so I thought I would ask. Any word on when we might expect them.

I have seen no news of possible release dates for TF2. But rest assured, when there is an approximate date, you will find it here.

When the movie comes out, Transformers Attacktix should get a bit of a boost in interest. Unless the movie sucks.
Freaking Michael Bay!

I agree, there will be all kinds of TF merchandise being pushed for the movie, most likely including some Attacktix.
I'm not being so quick to judge Michael Bay. In the TF 2007 movie preview on the 20th Anniversary TFTM disc, he seems like a big dork, really excited and enthusiastic about what he is doing, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Alot of time and effort ($ and $) is being put into this, and it looks like, from the trailers anyways, that it will be well worth the wait.

My hatred of Michael Bay has nothing to do with Transformers.
I am a movie nerd in addition to being a Transformers nerd, and I've hated Michael Bay for years now, far before he became involved in the Transformers movie.
I've hated(and I do mean to use that word) every movie he's ever done. I hope as a fan for the movie's sucess, and I'll give it a fair chance for being Transformers if nothing else, but I freaking hate Michael Bay and all he stands for.

Have you seen the new movie preview on the Yahoo UK Transformers site? I think that he successfully made them look authentic to the "feel" of TF, but made them realistic and threatening enough without losing the look that they are living, sentient beings. Anyway, I think that since the movie is coming out a good 7 months after wide release of Marvel is finally achieved, that there's a good chance that the second TF series will be out about mid-June, and with character sculpts based on the movie, to tie in with its release. Hasbro would be very stupid to not take advantage of the movie's release to have Transformers Series 2 come out.

All I keep hearing from my friends is "they're not G1 characters, wah!" and I'm the only one who is willing to give it a chance. While I don't really like Megatron's design for the movie (he looks kinda like a metal tree of some sort,) it would have been worse had they used his G1 design, because the robot mode looks ridiculous, and the gun mode never made sense to me, even when I was 4. And Bumblebee couldn't have been a Beetle, because VW wouldn't lend the rights to be used in something "war or fighting related." Sure, they probably should have tried for the Dodge Neon or Chevy Cavalier next, but it still wouldn't have been G1! As far as the other characters in the trailer go, I think they look amazing. Seeing them in a realistic, life-sized form is like my dream come true. Did you see the scene where Scorponok is attacking people in the desert? That looks so awesome.

Yes! It looked awesome! I watched the trailer about 10 times. I am excited for the movie and also hesitant.

I might be excited if the name "Michael Bay" wasn't attached to it.
Hopefully the movie does well and lifts the franchise. I'd be happy as anything for that. With Michael Bay though, I expect myself to hate it.

Even though they don't look like the G1 Transformers, I'm still looking forward to the movie. I'm hoping it lives up to the last 20 years of me telling friends "I can't wait until they figure out how to do a live action TF movie."
