About Crumplezone; I tend to consider him a different kind of striker than most, because the way to use him best is very different from most strikers. I also have a Ransack, so what I tend to do is use Crumplezone to take out the larger figures, and Ransack for the smaller, since smaller figs tend to have more thin protrusions to grab and twist with the fork, and larger figures tend to have fewer big things sticking out.
...And remember, it's underrated, but not necessarily worth using over other, more popular figures.

My Crumplezone has an incredible spring. Its the striking surface that kills Crumplezone. If you don't line it up perfect Crumplezone can miss, and this is something that doesn't apply to other strikers, who I can kill things 100% of the time with.
Its a question of degree when it comes to underrated. Landmine is overlooked by a lot of people, but is one of the top figures in Transformers Attacktix. I ranked it #4 on my top 10. Its the best Autobot striker, has a potentially game breaking special at a solid success rate, and partners with possibly the most powerful 10pt small missile launcher in the game(once you factor in the Minicons incredible defense for a 10pt small base).
Ransack and Crumplezone, while maybe not as crappy as people say they are, just don't compare to a pack of Battle Ravages. 3-5 Battle Ravages will always be a more powerful force than any combination of Crumplezone and Ransack.

I'm definitely with you there, my son and I are both big fans of using a group a Battle Ravages, and the mace makes for a fun variation on the traditional strike figure

I still find it fun every once in awhile, just for a challenge, to use the Ransack and Crumplezone team, though I must admit that 9 times out of 10 I'm using Scorponok, 1 Insecticon and 3 Battle Ravages.

I've found that using Crumplezone and 2 Ransacks (or more - I just have 2) make a great team for defeating a Mega since the Ransacks can grab and twist Megas to the ground in one strike.
I've been playing 200 point games lately, and found if you put a Series 4 Sandtrooper from the Star Wars line on that team (special power is two free move and attacks for Specialists), you can really do some serious damage!!!
But I agree that a group of Battle Ravages will work better in non-Mega situations than the Crumplezone/Ransack combo (especially when your oppoent takes out Crumplezone on the first turn!).

I have no desire to use Crumplezone. I have in the past and have never had good results.
One of my most favorite TF is Star Scream. He seems to always come up white for me, has a good special, and IMO is cost effective for what you get.

You don't need Ransack/Crumplezones for Megas.
I can 1-hit kill Megas with Skyblast(Robot), Wickets or any Lightsaber figure for that matter.

I've knocked over Omega Supreme with S4 Darth Vader in one swing (by hitting his claw arm) but haven't ever taken out another Mega in one attack except with a Destroyer Droid (thanks to it's two shots) or Ransack. I don't strike as well as most other players - I guess I'm afraid of breaking them or something.
In any case, I agree that Ransack/Crumplezome is not the best use of points. But, it's a new/unique form of attack, and I enjoy twisting flipping figures around, so he's (Ransack) one of my favorites at the moment.
So far, I must say that my vote for most underrated goes to Rodimus. The pair of them that I use aim very well, and they are hard to knock over with other launchers (at least when I'm shooting at them). I love the special power because you can bring in a Destroyer Droid, which I find to be very useful at the end of a game when many strikers are potentially lurking near your start line.

Rodimus plus Destroyer Droid I would have to say qualifies. I don't have a Destroyer Droid, so I can't do that. That being said, I find Rodimus one of the easier Transformers to hit with missiles, though he's still tough to kill compared to Star Wars figures.

Rodimus, here's the only TF I use regularly for any reason other then free points (I use Skyblast Vechicle as a sheild and free up of ten points (for robot mode to come in) and same deal for Megatron Jet (though I've gotten good with both of them, I normally play it so the robots come in late in game when Grievous S1, S2, and Chirpa (he's my main man) are all down.

I try to build up my teams around Starscream. Sadly, I'm not usually very effective at using the other Decepticons (except the white Decepticlone).
