or now in most places they have self check outs and if you set your pack on the scanner after you scan it will give you the weight of the pack and if its not the one you want void the puchase and go get another pack till its the weight you are looking for

I tried weighing with some of the SW boosters, but then I realized the flaw in my plan, because there were both smaller and bigger figures I wanted, and I was using my hand to compare the weights. I found a heavy one at first that I found intriguing, so I almost took it, then I realized that the strikers and some of the other cooler characters actually weren't all that large, so I started to go with the light pack. Well, in the end, I chose the lighter one, and it was a big dud. I think I messed up by otherthinking things, because I'd had fantastic luck till then getting nothing but new figures each time and very cool ones at that.

I used the whole idea of it for my advantage, with only my hands as a scale. Since I knew I didn't want anymore Starscreams, Vector Primes, Megatrons, SOP Vechicle, Mega-Vechicle, SOP (Granted I only have the SVT version but I have only two other non-Optimus/Megatron super-rares and I'd like some variety) and these were large, heavy figures, I made sure to pick light packs (as opposed to SW where I pick heavy packs to get more Chirpas or my first Leia) and sure enough pulled two brand spanking knew guys: A Scorponok (the one figure I desperatly wanted) and Scourge (Who is in desperate need of some WD-40.) To make things better I got my second TF chrome (omni-con) and my second Ravage, so now I can actually use him effectivly in games.

The thing that sucks is I have no real concept of how much the figures that I want weigh, and I can't tell really from looking at the little sheet. I grabbed a pack this weekend (SW, mind you, but it's the same concept) and it weighed what I felt to be a "medium" weight, and it had one good heavier figure in it and one lighter figure I didn't have yet, so it balanced out. Without actually having seen them in "person" before, I can't be sure, but I think many of the figs I want don't weigh much, and many of them do, so my best bet would be...just grab the first thing I see...lol

Chirpa weighs a bit more than most because he's squat. Sure, he's short, but he's very thick. I managed to get one after only two SW4 packs because I was hand-weighing. Of course, I also can't DO anything kitbash-wise with him and he's useless for me to play since I have no other Ewoks, but it's fun to toss his boulder around. ---Dave

He's not totally useless, because he's very hard to knock down, and that rock kicks butt. Once he goes down, though, yeah...he's out...after I got him though I worried about what if he'd been packaged with a "skinny" figure and I'd passed him by thinking the pack had an "average" weight?

Use the Produce area scales if you're in a Super Walmart.

the tescos have those new tills that automatically scan in for you, but you have to put them on some scale to check the weight is right (ie. you buy a loaf of bread and put milk in the bag it's gunna know you lying from weight)
so if all attactixs different hows it know???

Wal-Mart does this in the self check out lines. I'd imagine the weight is generic to some tolerance. It's really irritating when it doesn't register the weight properly. I used to get a similar problem when I would buy 20 cases of soda at a time for the office I worked for a few years ago. The cases are too large to stackon the bag/scale thing so I'd hav to "skip bagging". Doing this more than like 3 times means the cashier has to authorize it.

That must of stunk. Oh, and autobot, I'd imagine that they have a base weight from like 1/2 of a bound to 1 1/2 pounds or somethin.
