Are those attacks shown at botcon the same mold as the original force blasts. If so isn't that a step backwards since we know those are not as effective as the new shots?

Yes, they looked to me to be EXACTLY like a star wars force blast. So the first part of your question, "Is this a step backwards?"... I think the answer is a very obvious "No".As we have seen, the new marvel attacktix are ripe with force blast like projectiles. So they have hardly fallen out of fashion. Second part, "those are not as effective as the new shots"... This is a very oppinionated statement. I would have to assume that you are referring to the newer "energy blasts" that come with several of the transformers. These projectiles are very much like force blasts, in weight and shape. Whether they are better or not could probably be debated till the end of time. Youll never be able to compare them in an equal "apples to apples" manor. OH! I almost forgot.. I wanted to mention, that you cant count on the projectiles seen at bot-con being the final design. Most of the time the previews seem to have the proper missiles. But it has happened several times that the displays were just wrong. Im really leaning toward them being wrong... I just cant imagine them reusing the force blast on a transformer. |

Those were just prototypes. That does not mean they will have those if they ever go into production.

The first Marvel starter set features a 20pt Armored Spider Man force blast figure. The Optimus Prime and Megatron force blasters could be solid figures if they are 20pts or 30pts will a great special power.
Otherwise, if they are just some more crappy 40pters...

20 pts!!! I didn't realize that. That could shift the game cazily. like five force blasts on one team. man! that's better then 10pt greedo.
