Hey there mada, welcome back. Are transformers more sturdy? Well... This has been debated, allot of people are saying yes, due to the fact that the sculpts tend to be more bulky than the star wars figures. But I really dont think this can ever be definitively answered. Here is a thead about just this topic. Sorry, but the stickler in me must point out that you referred to starscream as a prodder. You may in fact be reffering to skyblast, as he is a prodder and starscream is actually a large missile launcher.

I'll weigh in here, as I have some experience and educated observations on this.
I'm a Transformers collector, and with some collector friends started playing this game a little over a month ago. As Transformers people, we started playing with Transformers. Transformers really doesn't have a good striker. None of us could really use Battle Ravage(yet), Crumplezone is really difficult to get consistent hits with, and Scourge dies easily. So we played Attacktix for a few weeks using only Transformers shooters against other Transformers shooters. We got really good, and I consider myself a crack shot at this point.
After all of this, I got curious and started buying Star Wars Attacktix. Inserting these into games, we immediately noticed that they were easier to kill. After all our experience shooting at Transformers, it really wasn't hard to see. There are some exceptions, like bent-over Boba Fett, and S4 Darth Vader, and surprisingly Wicket, but on the whole, Transformers are almost universally sturdier.

Something to add to the Transformers being sturdy debate.
Transformers have a few figures that I would consider especially sturdy. Specifically, these are figures that are still difficult targets after attacking. These include all three vehicles. These vehicles don't really lose any defense by shooting, and are already among the more difficult sculpts to get a decent hit on. The other figures I would put in this category are Super Optimus Prime, Excellion and Overhaul. With or without the missile, Super Optimus Prime is a tank immune to small missiles and can absorb many shots from larger ones. Excellion is a very difficult target with its missile, but even having fired it is still a bad target compared to almost all other Attacktix figures. Overhaul is only slightly less sturdy than Excellion, with or without the missile loaded, and seems to deflect a lot of shots that should kill it.
Its one thing to tripod a figure for defense, its another to still be hard to kill after making an attack. Transformers has a few of these.
