I haven't quite mastered the "base shot" so I can't answer this, but maybe you guys can. How do these hits work against Transformers. To my experience, Transformers tend to be heavier and more well balanced than Star Wars figures. I would think that the theory of a base shot would be to get the figure wobbling, and then having it fall over unbalanced. I wouldn't expect this to work as well against heavier and more well balanced figures.

In my experience, base shots just make Transformers skid backwards. I haven't tried it against every mold, of course, so there might be some vulnerable to it, but most seem to need a dead center chest shot to knock over with a standard missile.

It might work best on Ransack. Thats the most unbalanced Transformer.
This may explain why I can't get the hang of these. I've been trying to do it against Transformers.

I agree, Transformers are much sturdier than SW Attacktix figures. Scourge would be another one that should be easy to take out with a base shot. Other than Scourge, Ransack and the Trooper figures, no other TFs have small bases, so that might also be one of the problems. I haven't lined the Troopers up yet and tried base shots against them, I'll give that a try later today.

Good call, I did forget him. However, I don't have one of him to test out. I also don't have a Ransack.
Scourge went down every single time with a base shot. The Troopers were split for me - the Insecticon and Minicon were much more likely to go down than the Omnicon or Decepticlone, although neither were in a tripod formation. However, those two that did go down only did so about half the time, so the base shot is not nearly as effective against these guys as it is against Star Wars Troopers.
Test gunner was a Biker Scout - my favorite 10 point launcher.
