They don't necessarily compliment each other, but I've found more success in fielding mixed teams of Transformers and Star Wars than Transformers alone. As a die-hard Transformers collector with the collection to prove it, I don't play Attacktix without using Transformers. That being said, I do better when I mix in some Star Wars. You just have to use the right figures, or in other words, use figures whose special powers aren't affected by faction. I've been using:
S4 Darth Vader(recovers with any figure) S2 Starter Obi Wan(Transformers troopers work just as well, and I have two Obi Wans) S1 Yoda S4 Starter Han Solo
I use mostly these four paired with Transformers that aren't faction specific, or in larger 150 and 200 pt teams with an abundance of Transformers. Three Omnicons support Obi Wan just as well as they support Overhaul.
I've also been using my two Jedi Knights and my two S4 Greedos, if only because they're fantastic 10pt figures and they support themselves.
I don't think Transformers really add much to Star Wars. The only Transformers figures I could see using with Star Wars are Rodimus for his Destroyer Droid recruiting powers and Super Optimus Prime in all his forms, just for how much of a powerhouse it is.

I agree that with the right combination of characters a mixed team would work well together. It will be interesting to see if the Marvel Attacktix figures will also blend nicely.

Also, keep in mind that there are a lot more SW than TF figures to choose from currently...so mixing in SW figs gives you a LOT more options.

Yep. Even countering with the greater limitation of having six factions versus two, SW simply has more options right now. Although TF has the advantage of some entirely new attack types.

I would also agree that if you pick your team carefully they do work great together. One of my son's favorite teams he likes to play against me is a mix and most times he beats me with it.

It all depends on who you use and what your stradegdy is. Personally my main team's 2/4's Droid army, 1/4 Rebel, and 1/4 Ewok with a couple of other figs (S2 Clone Pilot, Jet Skyblast, and R2-Q5) thrown in for good measure. The team relies not on a faction's stenth's but a figures, Skyblast's ability to almost garentee you a new figure upon his death, the Grievous Body Guards excellent combination attack with R2-Q5, The StormTrooper Rebel's free attack, Wicket.
The Rebels don't give the Droids a free attack, the Droids don't give the Ewoks one, and the Ewoks only use evade. The three factions might as well be from three seperate universes. What I'm trying to point out is a Transformers/Star Wars team can't exist... now a Decepicone/Tusken team or Autobot/Wookie team can, the Star Wars figures and TF figures give their faction free attacks or a Attacktix Class. What this means is as long as you have fully formed faction teams in your multi-universe game they might as well be from the same movie.

Here's a team I've been doing well with:
2x S2 Starter Kenobi 2x Jedi Knight S4 Starter Han Solo 2x Overhaul 4x Omnicon
100pts of Transformers, 100pts of Star Wars. Works pretty well.

Otherwise, you're breaking your overall team into mini squads. BTW, a few days ago, I finally was able to run through a few games of Attacktix against myself. In a few cases, some of the troopers survived far more attacks than I expected. It also gave me a clearer picture of the game.

It took me a while to get a decent Transformers army, but now I feel able to give an informed opinion. I had a friend blasting away at my Minicons and they took quite a beating without going down. I thought I would like the Omnicon better since it can tripod, but they're both excellent figures. I think they're better than any 10 point Trooper launcher in SW except for the Biker Scout. Both of these guys have insanely powerful shots (stronger than any other Troopers out there), and they both seem pretty easy to aim.

I've noticed the Transformers troopers being a whole lot more stable than Star Wars ones. |sf>Actually, I was running with both Star Wars and Transformers troopers among the two teams. Figures kept hitting and hitting on S4 Starter Greedo and the only thing that took him out was a head shot. The same held true for another type of Star Wars trooper. I didn't try out all of the Transformer troopers, but the three different types I used stood up for a long time. Judging by various comentary in the community, I'd had the prediction that small-based figures wouldn't hold up to a single shot and they were just fodder to fill out the 100 points. I plan to give some of them more respect in the future. The ones who knocked over in their first hit: Chewbacca (who redeemed himself in the second game by deflecting a horde of shots and winning that game), Scourge (I hadn't even aimed at him, but the missile took him out anyway.), Skyblast (robot mode), and the Clone Pilot. I don't really want to reveal all my results at the moment; part of my intention was to come up with a team for the 100 point 'no-repeats' entry for the Maryville, MO tournament this Saturday. My lack of experience already gives a big strike against lasting the first round, so I'd rather not handicap myself even further by giving away my team ahead of time.

I had a friend blasting away at my Minicons and they took quite a beating without going down. I thought I would like the Omnicon better since it can tripod, but they're both excellent figures. . I find I like the Mini-Cons. In most of the games I've played, Omnicons coming up white never affects the game much, since they tend to get killed last(if they aren't sacrificed to Overhaul, their primary function) and most often there aren't three figures to take advantage. The tripod of the Omnicons is nice, but the Mini-Con is short(less of a target) and heavy(more mass absorbs the energy of hits), with a low center of gravity(doesn't wobble and fall over) and many slanted surfaces that deflect shots harmlesly. It can take a hit without a tripod, a true rarity for 10pts. I used to do target practice, by taking out a pile of 10pt figures and just shooting until they all fall. In this "testing" I find the Mini-Con nearly but not quite as sturdy as the Omnicon while tripoded. The Mini-Con is much better than the Omnicon after a shot, as you would expect. The 10pt Star Wars figures I have go down ridiculously easy. The sturdiest 10pt figure(this doesn't include Greedo, who I wasn't using for this) is actually to my experience the Decepticlone with a tripod. That thing stands firmer than anything.

I got the rest of my Decepticons in the mail today, and I like them very much. My Insecticons are very powerful launchers as well - although I have a question for you TF folks. In all the photos I saw I thought that tall black "stalk" was the Insecticon's head. But now that I have one to look at up close, it looks like the tiny purple spot at the bottom of the stalk is his head, and the rest is some sort of weird hat. (But the hat looks like it has a face on it.) What's the deal there?
After I sent a group of figures flying (and I mean FLYING) with Scorponok, I felt like the little kid near the end of The Incredibles - "That was TOTALLY WICKED!" Holy smoke he's awesome! And since my Megatron Jet arrived today, I used Megatron for the first time today. When I tried him out after buying the SWVTF pack, I was not impressed. But I used him in a game tonight and I got a knockdown with him every single time. Some of those shots were close to two feet away - one on Force Push Luke - and it was the most accurate Attacktix weapon I've ever used.
Incidentally, the guy I was playing against was using a good 200 point Rebel army (which also included one S4 Vader), his figures were white several times, and he got to use all 100 points of his backups. I was using all Transformers - 2x Battle Ravage, Megatron Jet, Scorponok, Crumplezone, Optimus Prime Truck, 3x Minicon and 1 Decepticlone, with Megatron, OP and 2 Insecticons in my backups. I thought for sure he was going to crush me, especially since his strikers (Vader and 3 Lukes) all had better range... but I ended up beating him and still had 120 points on the table. I was stunned. I am loving the Transformers!!
