I haven't got any TF's because... (1) I don't have the money for both kinds, I've got kids to feed and a house payment. (2) I would rather they be the Older TF's from the 80's. Then I couldn't resist! (3) If I get one booster I will Have to GET THEM ALL! Are Attacktix made of crack or what? + (see Point #1) ATTACKTIX boosters are like a woman: They Look Good, They Smell Good, They taste good, They Shoot Missiles, They TiX, They cost money, and once you have had one you'll want open another! And another! And another! Sorry about that... Ive never known a woman to shoot missiles.... Or to "tix" really.... Oh well. Go ahead and buy them... You know you want to... Your kids can eat next week... ;D

I have never meet a woman who shot missiles at me either. If I did I think I would definitely have to pass on her.

;D I like to think of babies as missiles. example: My wife was giving birth to my second born on one end of the dinner table ( We like to keep things Natural ) and I was playing Attacktix at the other. On my tern The wife yelled "with this I smite thee!" then the baby shoot across the table and took out my friends whole squad and spared all of mine. It was a truly amazing victory. So missiles gets a "yes they do". We are all our mothers missiles. I kid! I KID! But You are right about the tix... they don't do that.

Some of the apathy towards the TF line may be also due to the age group that's being focused on. I believe (I could be wrong) that most of us on this board remember watching Transformers when they weren't reruns (heck I saw the movie in the theater!). We're really the age group that has embraced the SW attacktix and gotten our kids or neighbors or cousins or whatever involved in it too. When I heard about the TF line I was excited, but when I saw it I was bummed. I wanted the classic ones I remember from when I was young. I don't recognize any of the new guys and the ones I know the names of (Optimus Prime, Megatron) don't look anything like they used to either. For me it was kind of a let down. Since TF doesn't have as much of a following as SW does, it's harder for anyone to related because the fan base simply isn't as big. It follows that TF sales will be lackluster in comparison to the SW sales. When we see Marvel Attacktix come out, I expect they'll be very well received because everyone know who spider-man is! Anyway, my two cents...

Now that I could agree with! I was so bummed out that Megatron was purple and black when I remember him being white with a giant gun on his arm. Remember he transformed into a gun that Starscream would shoot. Optimus Prime I remember being a semi not a fire truck. Most of the others I don't remember at all. Dirtboss, Scourge, Skyblast, Landmine, or Decepticlones.
Overall though I am extremely pleased with these figures. I don't care that they are not the ones I watched as a kid. They are fun to play with and that is all that counts in my book.

[EDITED by admin for "gross" misconduct ] Fair enough, my bad Joe! You know you looked first, though! Also, I agree with John Carter there (warlordofmars) about the TF models. I was hoping for Shockwave and the cool guy with the bird that flew out of his chest (he xformed into a tape recorder). I've made the executive decision to trade or sell off all of my transformers as they pretty much suck. VERY disappointed in them, in their entirety and seperately/individually. Waste of 100$ or so, plus trade shipping money.

I only started getting these for the Transformers. I have my attic set up with hundreds of Transformers worth thousands of dollars: 1--G1 originals back from the 80's(Devastator, Jetfire, some Dinobots) 2--Japanese reissues of the old figures(Optimus Prime, Starscream, Megatron--yes the gun , Predaking!) 3--Alternators--most awesome thing they have ever done, aside from Masterpiece Optimus Prime. 4. All of the more recent lines, which fill out the room nicely. 5. Rare oddities, imports and exclusives, that would impress TF nuts more than you guys. I was going to buy the whole set just because I collect this stuff. Its just a bonus to me that I like to play, and I like to play enough that I'm getting a few Star Wars figures to add to my Transformer armies.

TFs would be far better in my view if they had an equivalent of Jedi Knights.

That's precisely my fear and slowness to get into attacktix fully. I'm afriad that if Transformers are allowed to mingle with Star Wars it will grossly unbalance the game in the bot's favor do to thier inheritly bulky builds. I don't think it's wrong, they're mechas, they're suppose to look like that. But then there should be a Transformers and Star Wars only tournament, or perhaps some kindof special rule giving SW an advantage. Above all else, i'm concerned with game balance. Don't want another Magic: The Gathering. Also the increddibly low amount of strikers. Strikers rule! (Despite how I personaly am a launcher guy.. infact.. I should make an attacktix test about that..)

I dont know why anyone would even consider separating star wars and transformers for tournaments. Then in a few more month, they'll be talking about 3 separate tournaments for SW, TF and marvel.
There should be no segregation when it comes to attacktix. They are made by the same people, for the same reason, and were fully intended to be mixed up.
Please let your Lukes and you megatrons be friends (or enemies, however your playing)!

Add to that the lack of quality strikers, and I still say Star Wars has the advantage.

Even though Im a die-hard Star Wars fan, it is the Transfomers line that brought me into this game. I was already playing the Star Wars miniatures game when Attacktix first came out so I passed on them. But with no other Transformers collectible-type game out, I couldnt resist. I am focusing on Transformers right now, but occasionally pick up a Star Wars booster, especially when I see series 3 stuff on clearance shelves.

Transformers have definitely changed since the '80s (and I think for the better). For those who aren't into Transformers, the current Attacktix are based on the current series "Cybertron" (July 2005-present), and the last series "Energon" (Dec 2003-June 2005). Don't worry, I'm sure that G1 themed figures will come out in a few waves. After all, the movie is supposed to be based on G1. And by the way, Transformers booster packs seem to be selling well enough where I live.
