I was thinking about what will make Transformers Attacktix different (especially wondering if any of them will actually be able to transform by using 2 different swappable figures).
And I am thinking about kind of a wish list of how they could incorporate some TF gimmicks. Since Minicons add power to a transformer, I think that a minicon set (or a custom game mode) could be fun.
Perhaps one attached minicon could add a speed of 1 to the transformer it is attached to. Maybe another minicon shoots, but adds topheavy weight to a figure. Or another minicon could slow a player down but make them more bottom heavy.
Transformers isn't even out yet and I am eager to play. ;D
Edit: re-reading moy post now that I am less tired.....I was thinking of this being something along the lines of a capture the flag system only with a flag (minicon) that adds a power, and multiple flags in play. Combine some way of capturing more flags than the other team or last man standing.
SW Attacktix does a good job of having abilities be true to character (jedi help one another, Sith help themselves, han and chewie are buddies). I'm hoping that TF Attacktix will remain true to character as well as true to their relationships.

I agree with you man; I want the TF line to ACTUALLY Transform. It seems like they could do that pretty easily; like if you're in vehicle mode you get +5 tix.

I actually think it would be possible to make some attacktix figures that can transform. They already have some transforming toys that are very small. Heck, I remember back in the 80's, bumblebee was a tiny little "almost attacktix size" guy.
The only draw back to transforming figures would be... Some figures are a pain to transform. You may have to pick the figure up to do it. Which would mean they might have to settle for less realistic transforming. For instance, perhaps you could have a car or truck that is hinged in someway, and can be flipped up or back to reveal a robot on the belly of the vehicle... And that most likely wouldnt look the greatest. :\

I don't mean to rain on the parade, but I really doubt we'll ever see transforming Tix. I'd simply like to see the Transform special power be used to replace the figure where it fell, rather than be a renamed Recruit. Perhaps it will still play out that way when Hasbro gives an official answer.
But I love the idea of having flags on the battlefield that provide bonuses to your figures or your team! Might give me a use for all those battlecase flags that I have. I don't think +1 speed is enough of a bonus, I would suggest something higher, maybe even +4 or more. Would those be something you assign at the beginning of the game? Or would they be out on the battlefield where you capture them and use them, but if that figure falls the flag stays there and the other team can capture and use it?
Some flag ideas that just popped into my head: Double the speed of one of your figures An extra attack per turn One launcher may make two attacks per turn
I suppose the possibilities are very similar to a lot of the other add-ons people have made.

when people keep saying "why don't the attacktix transform?" remember this: it's kinda hard for them to transform when their feet are glued down to the base.

I wanna see how they'll get optimus to combine with wing saber or leobreaker... that will be interesting, as will be any attacktix with "combination" as their special power

At least, not any more than the Emperor or Gunship. Most likely, they will grant bonus if both Prime and Leo are in play, like Han and Luke in Stormtrooper gear, with Leia!
