Hey gang, welcome to the Toy Shop! As you can tell by the great threads about game play variations and future figures, Attacktix lends itself to creativity. I've had a few ideas rattling around for awhile and I thought I'd share them with you. Think of them as figure mods, but instead of paint & clay I'll use ones & zeros. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Today I have another quickie for ya. I had an idea for some army building non-cambat figures. I tought I'd even things out by giving one to each side engaged in the Clone Wars (hey!... weren't they actually the same side?). I give you... TAUN WE and WAT TAMBOR(original photos via Rebelscum.com) As I said, these 2 are non-combat figures. They will function similar to Jar Jar... attacktix.proboards22.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=general&thread=1117678271&page=2or will have a push button spinner like R2-D2. Their internal number spinner will look something like this How do they work? When their wheels are spun and a number appears you can then pull that number of figures from your back-ups. TAUN WE will allow you to pull CLONE TROOPERSWAT TAMBOR will allow you to pull BATTLE DROIDSThere you have it. Pretty simple when it comes down to it. I love the idea of non-combat figures. They allow you to bring in characters that might not be 'fighters' and they also throw in a little bit of that randomness that makes Attacktix a fun and unpredictable game. Well, that's it for todays Toy Shop. Join us next time for the... IMPERIAL PROBE DROID

Once again you combine and highlight that which is one of Attacktix greatest strengths. Quick, simple, and fun! Yet the results can generate an almost infinate number of possible variations allowing for a more complex strategy if that is desired. As usual, I like it!

Excellent idea. My only input would be maybe the number he gets (0, 1, 2, 3, etc) will give you a certain amount of POINTS to bring in.
Then you can say they can call 30 POINTS worth of CLONE people... That would be hard since CLONE is not a CLASS. But I think it could bring in some extra strategy too.
So, my idea probably wouldn't work with these two characters, but maybe a Wookiee, that can call in certain points worth of Wookiees.
Again, cool idea!!!

How's about they're set up so that they can pull either 10-point "Republic" or 10-point "Droid Army" figures? That would still use the Star Wars classes like the other powers, but it would make it obvious enough that you could only pull Clone Troopers or Battle Droids (well, I suppose you could pull Grievous Bodyguards, too, but that might be better, as it would allow the striker vs. shooter preference).

Thanks again guys Excellent idea. Just think of them as having the Recruit power just like Shaak-Ti and the Battle Droids. I'm trying to keep them as simple as possible and don't want to mess around with points, etc. That would still use the Star Wars classes like the other powers ? ? ? Battle Droid- Put up to two other Battle Droids into play from your back-ups.Grievous Bodyguard- Free move and attack for your General Grievous.Neimoidian Guard- Free attack for your Nute Gunray.Nute Gunray- Free attack for up to two of your Neimoidian Guards.Shaaki Ti- Put Ki-Adi-Mundi into play from your back-ups.Seems like there is alot of figures that have powers that are not Attacktix Class specific already. I'm just working off of precedents set by Hasbro. No need to re-invent the wheel. And just think about it, figures like these could be implemented into all Attacktix series from here on out... Poggle the Lesser- Gionosians Mon Mothma- Rebel Troopers Boss Nass- Gungans Jawa Leader- Jawas or Droids C3P0- Ewoks (he was their god after all ) Speaking of the Jawas. I think it might've been Joe that speculated about the new Bounty Hunter special power to be introduced in Series 2, stating that he thought it might be something along the lines of... 'any figure knocked out by a Bounty Hunter is now under controll of the Bounty Hunters team.' A power like this would be great for the Jawas. Any droid figure that is knocked over by a Jawa is now under the controll of the Jawa's team. In other words the Jawas salvaged, repaired and are now using the droids to fight for them. Could be cool.

I stand corrected Is it obvious how little I use all of those figures you named? Sweeeeet Oh heck yeah! And that would also be a strong deterrant against using Battle Droids against any Jawa-containing army. Though there were certain droids that the Jawas weren't able to repair successfully (e.g., the red R2 in EpIV); perhaps only if the dial on top of the Attacktix base is red should this power be enabled?

YES!!
Now that is the type of recruit feature that I can really see as being useful unlike the clumsy Emperor 'attachment' process.

The only reason I suggested it went by points was incase you didn't carry many mulitple of the same figure. But you are right tey do it wit Battle Droids, etc. I guess I am just greedy, and would like to call in a butt load of Grees!!! I will post your specials back to back on my site on Mon or Tues!

I'm with you, Joe. With as much as I like Jedis, Gree is the best shooter for me. But I guess the idea would be to get cheap cannon fodder into the mix.

I will post your specials back to back on my site on Mon or Tues! Cool. Hold off on this one for a bit. I created it at work and the photoshop we use there is about 800 years old. I want to adjust the text and images on the bases. The are kinda fubared (in my completely anal opinion )

Oh yeah, looks like your text got warped the wrong direction.
No problem, I still need to post your JUMP figures. So I'll do that on Monday instead

No warping at all. I just rotated them a bit. The photoshop at work is a LE (limited edition). And I don't mean limited as in rare, limited as in absolutely no features.
No history No filters No distort No skew No select color range No text warping / wraping No nothin' !!!
I'd be much better off if I could work from home, but I don't think the bosses would go for that.

I thought maybe you were just playing Joe's drinking game before designing this one!

Ooooo...yet another idea I like! Perhaps I should open up YodaBreaker's Drunken/Twitchy Toy Shop? That would be about the level of artistic talent I'd have, anyway.
