The Wii is not difficult to hook up from my experience, at least no more so than a DVD player. Red/white/yellow connectors in, power cord, simple. Only issue is where you put the sensor bar for the wii-mote to hone in on. This shouldn't be difficult if you have an entertainment system or a television with an open spot at the top that's thick enough to hold the bar but if you use a projection television or something else that's fancy, then it might be a bit problematic. Fortunately, the sensor bar has so much cord you shouldn't have any troubles. The extra wii-mote that comes with Wii Play is all that is absolutely needed to get started (sure, you can play a few of the games with just one Wii-mote but it's a hassle). The only thing you need the other nunchuk to start out with is Boxing and the Tank game on Wii Play. Everything else runs off of just two wii-motes. If you want to branch out into the above two games and other games another nunchuk would be useful. And now, *shudder* Hannah Montana. Don't kill me, I don't own it, I just looked it up over here. Apparently, it is played completely with the wii-mote, so no DDR mat required. (and to Nick Vader, told you so )

Thanks Grievous your very helpful. Oh and I like your new Joker Tag.
I also feel for anyone looking for a Wii this X-mas. I knew people would be killing for them, thats why we got ours when we saw it so long ago. I was at a wal-mart the other day and some College Guy ask the Electronics guy is they had any Wiis and he just Chuckled at him. Then the College Guy angrily asked why they did have any. DUH!!! So I pointed out to him that "Everyone and their Grandmom is out looking for one" just like he was.

Yeah, it's amazing how fast the Wiis are moving... STILL. I'm the Electronics Specialist at my local Target and we sold 54 of them in about 50 minutes this past Sunday. Insanity! A Nintendo DS is a much safer bet.

I have posted about this before We got a wii For christmas like 2 months ago and it's just setting in the top of my closet!! It talks to me every night "Come on open me now. The wife & kids won't mind. I'm so F@*king cool! Don't you want to play with me? You can even put me back in the box and no one will ever know." It's starting to get to me. Thank god Christmas is only a few days away. As long as you aren't looking for HD gaming (and the Wii can only do 480p at best, so it's not likely you'll really care), you shouldn't need anything else. The composite connector has one end that plugs obviously into the Wii and the other two plugs go into the same colored inputs in the TV. As for another Nunchuk, unless you're wanting to box together or play other two-player games more advanced than Wii Sports or Wii Play together, you could hold off on getting it I find that Metacritic's compilation of reviews is quite helpful whenever I look at getting games.

So christmas came and I got to play our Wii. MAN, IS IT FUN!!!!! I have to hold back. I just want to play it all the time. The Wii Sports and Wii Play are a blast. We also got "dance dance revolution" I don't know how I feel about that yet. I do like to do the chicken dance at weddings but outside of that I'm not a big dancer.
But anyway If you don't have one go find one. My 6 year old love it and keeps beating me at bowling but I kicked her and the butt of my wife's at boxing. YES I beat up my wife and little girl. My 2.875 year old boy can even do the boxing. Boxing is work-out for old fat guy like me.
But my fav part is the Miis The little guys you get to make that represent you in the games. Mine looks just like me. ;D SO Funny!

Very happy with the Wii so far. Looks like getting Wii Play is the next order of business so we can pick up the 4th controller then.
I read on G4 last night that Amazon sold something like 17 Wii's PER SECOND while they had them in stock...MADNESS!!!

I have a Wii too, best investment I've made in a while. I have the Wii Sports, one nun-chuck, and one contoller, the things that came with it, and the following: Link the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess Metroid Prime 3: Corruption Super Mario Galaxy Extra Nun-Chuck Extra Remote Classic Contoller Those three games are rated number 1,2, and 4 in the world. That's how I pick out my games, on rating. I too go to Metacritic to look at ratings. The next purchase will be Resident Evil 4: Wii Edition, because it's rated number 4. It's also only 25 dollars!!! That's a bargin, these games are expensive! Anyway, the Wii is definately the best Game System I've played.

Yeah, I'm liking the Wii as well. If you are in the market for an extra remote, do what Webhead said and pick up a copy of Wii Play, it's $50 for the game and remote. Fantastic deal.
It's hard sometimes to pick out a good game. I saw a game on eBay called "Wing Island" for about $20 after shipping. I bought it because it looked like a fun flying game, but once I started playing I realized it was a game where chickens fly airplanes. It is terrible. Now I go on YouTube to look at gameplay videos before I buy.

Games I own:
Wii Sports (duh) Wii Play Alien Syndrome Big Brain Academy Super Paper Mario Mario Party Rayman Ravin Rabbids Marvel Ultimate Alliance
I have yet to regret any of them. Best way to buy is wait until they go on sale. I only bought Super Paper Mario when it first came out. All the others I paid around 20-25 dollars a piece.
Wii is by far the best game system that I have ever bought. I also own a Playstation 2, Nintendo, Nintendo 64, Sega Genesis, and an Atari 7800 (every now and then I break it out for Miss Pacman.)
Sega Genesis still is awesome. Shining in the Darkness 2 has to be still one of the best RPG's ever.
I have played X-box, and am not entirely impressed. The Playstation 3 is just too darn expensive.

I just bought a Wii today, and man I looooooovvve it! I agree with GE's statement about it being the best system I've ever purchased! And I haven't even had time to scratch the surface of it yet! We got six of them today at Target, and lucky me snagged the very last one. Oh sweet victory... I'll post more once I get more familiar with it, but for right now I'm entertained enough just by the Miis!

LoL - I just got Wario Smooth Moves, it's alot of addiction with little content, those games are so easy to make. RE4 is the bomb too. I've been playing through Red Steel, it's actually not bad, dispite the horrid reviews. West West Yo

for right now I'm entertained enough just by the Miis! Ha! I Love the Miis! I really Think thats what makes the system So fun, you make a little person that look like you and he/she plays the game. We have made a bunch. One Mii for every one in our family and friends. I even made one for my 6 month old baby. ;D It kills me to see the family come out to play baseball with me. Have people over to play ASAP. It's a blast!
