Does anyone remember watching this back in 1978?

well as I was about a year old, no. It does certainly live on in infamy though, about the only thing that hasn't been mass produced and sold everywhere from StarWars. I quite liked the cameo it made in Weird Al's video White and Nerdy. Classic.

I missed it as well, being 3 or whatever. For some reason I think I did see it at some point when I was little, but I certainly have no solid memories of it.
First appearance of Boba Fett though, right?

Yeah Boba is in a cartoon that is part of it, probably the best part of it. There is also Han and Chewy trying to get back to Kashyyyk for the celebration of "Life Day". His family are back there being ruffed up by some stormtroopers while they're on their way. Lucas was once asked, "Any plans for a Special Edition of the Holiday Special?" Lucas responded with "Right. That's one of those things that happened, and I just have to live with it." The only official comment made on the possibility of a DVD release was by Lucasfilm head of fan relations Steve Sansweet. When asked by the IESB if George Lucas has the intention to ever release the holiday special, he replied: No. It's a very simple answer. George hates the Star Wars Holiday Special, and it's just something that he doesn't like... White and Nerdy can be found here: vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&VideoID=2674025The holiday special can be found in pieces all over youtube.com, the cartoon is here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=jm0EXWCQji8

I personally have never watched the Holiday Special, all though I have been tempted. From what I know, it's many times worse than Episode I which is quite the feat.
Speaking of Lucas's intense hatred of the special, I also seem to remember that he once said that if he had the time, he would hunt down every VHS/DVD copy of the special and smash it with a hammer. That, combined with the fact that Mr. "3 versions of each movie" himself won't release it to a fanbase that would likely snap it up yet he will release the old Ewok movies/cartoons and Droids cartoons, shows how much he despises the special.

It might happen someday. After all, we are talking about a guy that avoided DVDs like the plague, refusing to support the, then, new medium and opted to hop on board the Laser-disc revolution.

I saw it on youtube and I am incredibly sorry I did. It definitely has to be the worse movie/show that I have ever seen. Everyone heed my warning, do not watch this! Or you will regret it.

Wow.
I just finished watching the entire Star Wars Holiday Special for the first time on youtube. I know of a lot of mnemonics to help me remember and memorize things, but does anyone know of any good forgetting techniques?

It's a complete abortion. This has to be the worse Star Wars film ever. And that includes fan made material.

I was almost 6 years old when it came out and I remember being very excited about it and loving it when it was aired. I've never seen it since. I prefer to let the happy memory live on - so I won't watch it again.
I have no memory of Boba Fett in it though (I'm not doubting he was, just forgot). My earliest memory of Boba Fett was the special offer on the backs of the original action figures, where if you sent in 5 UPCs or something, you got a free Boba Fett (with "firing missile"). Of course they ended up having to glue the missile in his backpack, but he was still a cool figure, even though I didn't know anything about him at the time.

lol I own the Holiday Special and its hilarious! You know if it wasn't for the singing, acting, makup on certain farmboys, or 30 minutes of straight Wookiee... its pretty good.
