Every time someone mentions the changes in one version of the original trilogy they mention the 'who shot first' Han/Greedo thing... Question 1: What the hell happened in it originally (before the Special editions?)? Question 2: Why would Lucas change it? Remark 1: If Greedo shot first, he should definitly not have been a good Attacktix as he couldn't hit a guy three feet in front of him. Question 3: If Han shot first how could Greedo shoot at all? Question 4: If Han shot first originally why would Lucas have footage of Greedo shooting Han to use when editing? Off Topic Question 5: In ROTJ is Leia remembering Padme or Bail's wife?

This is my biggest pet peeve with all of Lucas's revisions (much worse than Hayden Christiansen appearing at the end of ROTJ) and so I think I can clear this one up for you.
In the original movie: Han blasts Greedo before Greedo even has a clue what's going on. Special Edition: I believe here they shoot at the same time. (Someone borrowed my first special edition and never returned it, but I think that's what happens) Current DVD: Greedo shoots first and misses, Han then kills Greedo.
Why did they do this? To me it's very simple. Shooting Greedo in cold blood makes Han Solo look like a bad guy. And you know what? HE IS! That's the whole POINT! When we first meet Han, he's a smuggler. He's arrogant, he's selfish, he's not interested in helping anyone but himself. Part of the fun of the first three movies (for me anyway) is his transformation from a bad character to a good character.
It also shows us that Han is a pretty crafty guy and is very capable of taking care of himself. Even if his ship looks like "a piece of junk," there's much more to this fellow (and his ship) than meets the eye.
Nearly all of the changes are for visual purposes and I like them all very much. This one seems to change Han's character some, and I don't like that at all.

Off Topic Question 5: In ROTJ is Leia remembering Padme or Bail's wife? Now thats a hard one................... I would say it was Bails wife and then she died when she was young. Leia says she rembers her when she was young.

Leia says she rembers her when she was young. Actually, I thought it was Padme because Luke specificly asks her,"Do you remember your mother? Your real mother?" But who really knows?

She's remembering her real mother. She says she only really remembers feelings. That's 'cause the force is strong with her as well. When Luke is about to drop this huge bomb that Leia is his sister and that they share a mother why would he care or ask about her adoptive mother? It's all about Padme. Granted Lucas could've played this better in "Sith", but the refrence is to her real mom, Padme.

Wow,....are we saying that she remembers the feeling from the dead body of her mother? Maybe I should watch the movie again before making this argument, but it seems pretty far fetched to believe she has any recollection of the first 5 minutes of her life.

I drafted a post to disagree with you; in my research, however, I discovered that---according to the authoritative canon---you are correct. The Star Wars database states ... [glow=red,2,300]It was common knowledge throughout the court that Leia was adopted into the Royal Family. What wasn't common knowledge was that Leia was born to Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi pupil who succumbed to the dark side and became Darth Vader. She was one of a set of twins, born in secrecy and protected from Vader and the Emperor. The Jedi hero and general, Obi-Wan Kenobi, saw to it that Leia was secretly transported to the planet Alderaan, where she was to be raised by Kenobi's friend Bail Organa. The boy, Luke, was taken to the distant world of Tatooine. Leia has few memories of her true mother, Padmé Amidala. All that Leia can recall is that she was beautiful, but sad.[/glow] I prefer the idea that Leia was remembering Queen Breha Organa---her adoptive mother---to the unlikely idea that she actually recalled Padme. But George Lucas and his minions evidently don't agree with me on this.

I've wondered this too, and come to the conclusion that this is one of those discrepencies between the trilogies that doesn't make sense and never will unless they redo the whole thing and make them work together. On the other topic Let us not forget that Han was as Yaggleberry says han wasn't an honerable guy at this point. His life was anything but perfect up to this, he was raised by smugglers his only family tried to kill him, girlfriends are always dumping him, he just didn't have it together. not that there werent times when he did, like when he saved chewie but at this point he had just come of Bria using him, dumping him and dieing. He was looking out for only #1 leastwise that's my take on it. Greedo wasn't a great Bounty Hunter but he knew how to use a gun.

Han shooting Greedo without Greedo having a clue (in the original) was one of the coolest scenes in the movie, and I loved Han Solo for it (yes, we all loved him because he was baaad). George Lucas tampered with something that now looks ridiculous (and fake, like the film "twitched"). George should've kept the original scene.
