I had to wait for the 12:30 showing because the 12:01 and 12:15 were both sold out... and I only got my tickets, what, a month early? Oh well, I didn't really mind that much. After the movie I ran in to Meijer to check figs at 3:00 or so and then had to drive home after that since I was out of town at the time.

I was at the 12:01 showing. Not as big as TPM at midnight but bigger than AOTC.

I went to the premire at midnight. The tickets were 100$ but You got to sit on a really confortbal seats, darth vader and obi-wan action figures. ROTS topps cards, candy, wepull! and a standee of a wookie warrior! I also skipped school and intended a after party. Food, trivie, ROTS xbox, attacktix, mintures and lightsaber duels. It was worth 300$ in my book!!!!!!!!

We went to the midnight premiere---got there at 11:00 PM, just to relish the experience---and half the crowd was dressed in various SW gear.
We had lightsaber battles going on all over the theater. A guy dressed in a Darth Maul outfit was beating everyone in lightsaber battles---until a big guy came down the aisle dressed in a Pooh Bear outfit (I am not making this up). He grabbed one of the Jedi's lightsabers, with which he soundly---and painfully---defeated Darth Maul.
I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my life. The spectacle of Darth Maul being defeated by Winnie the Pooh was something I had never imagined even in my wierdest dreams. I so wish I would have had a video camera.

So I dress as Obi Wan on such occasions, I figured it would be nerd-tastic at the opening show, but I guess it's only like that at SUPER BIG/COOL theaters. Not so much at my local theater. I'm the only one in costume. I start to feel nerd-tastic. To top it off, I see a bunch of old friends from HS in there. Yeah, it was embarrassing, still can't figure out why I had those feelings of embarrassment, I usually just repress all feelings...oh, well. -Radar

The experience at Cinemark 17 in Tulsa was great---at moments of victory (Yoda beheading two clones, Yoda knocking out the red guards, etc.), lightsabers went up and on, waving all over the theater.
On the more metaphysical side ... hmmm ... so Radar, defender of the Dark Side, dresses as Obi-Wan on special occasions. Does that make you a double-agent? multiple personalities? repressing your "true self that you've only forgotten," to cite the younger Skywalker?

No, actually I made it for a Geek-tastic SW fan film I (pretend) I'm working on. Eventually it will be finished and it will give smal lchildren nightmares. or at least make adults cringe a little.
But to be fair, you are right on target with the repression as well. There are feelings that lead to the light side as well. -Radar

Oh ya, they rock! When I went to see ep III at midnite, I got to meet the Emperor and other characters, get put into a dudes documentary on StarWars, see the original weapon props from the OT, and lightsaber fight on the news! That was awesome. Some dude bruised my jaw in the saber fight, though.
