Right now it's more probable that I'll be there. Several of the guys around here are very interested in going, but I won't be making the trip if I have to do the 1400 miles round trip all by myself. So as long as they don't bail on me, I'm in. 1400 miles round trip... WOW! I sure hope you have some drivers help you out. This should be the biggest event yet!

Drat - there goes the notion of playing Team 10JK. Heh - maybe Hasbro should consider making the five-max an official tournament rule to even the odds for those without deep pocketbooks. I also highly approve of the one of each gold-based figure per tournament team; it makes the element of chance a much stronger one when you're fielding these highly-powered figures! Thus, so far, these rules seem designed to make this game more accessible, even in tournament format.

I really like the "1 Tournament, 1 of Each Gold, 5 of Each Standard" rule. It makes swarm teams a bit more difficult to build but not impossible (I can see someone bring a JK5 + Wicket5 team or Minicon5 + Omnicon5). It'll really help someone like myself who doesn't have access to Ebay and therefore is stuck with whatever figures I can grab out of the boosters.
Also Force Speed = Tix is beautiful to see. That combined with the figure limits will give me at least a slim chance of defeating some of the more skilled players (Yodabreaker, etc.).

Just like I have in the past 2 tournaments I attended. But its all allot of fun, much more than winning or loosing to look forward to.

Sorry for the d-post, but the blue text is what I have a question for. TixCon 2007Date: Saturday April 14th, 2007 Time: Noon - 8 p.m. est Place: Courtyard Toledo Airport Holland1435 East Mall Drive Holland, Ohio 43528 USA Phone: 1-419-866-1001 Local Attractions: There are a number of nearby hotels, some within walking distance. There is a "cheap" movie theater about a block away. Tons of restaurants and fast food, within about 3-4 miles or less. This hotel is adjacent to a shopping complex anchored by Target, Sam's Club, Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Krogers, and a number of smaller shops. All of this is located just off of 75. Cost: TBD - there will be one flat entry free for participants that will cover all of the eventsAttacktix Events:- 100 point Marvel only tournament
- 100 point Transformers only tournament
- 100 point Star Wars only tournament
- 200 point Open Tournament tournament
- Chirpa and or Hulk Bowling/Curling
- Gunslinging Side Games
- Attacktix Custom Contest
[/li][li]Charity Auction - Marine Toys for Tots Foundation[/li][li]Open Gaming [/li][/ul] Tournament Guidelines:Unless noted otherwise, the following rules will be in place for squad building. - Maximum of one Tournament Figure per squad
- Maximum of one EACH of Gold Figures per squad
- Maximum of FIVE each of all other figures (by collector number, you could have five each of the Grievous Bodyguards from Series 1 and Series 2)
- No Megas allowed
Scheduled to Attend:webhead817 joemanzo phoenix superflytnt greyelephant notacomputer yodabreaker malform cona chris eagle2401grievous jango Unamed Brother sfx5000 On the watch list:Awol Attacktixrulz Yagleberry Finn and crew FAQ:Q: What is gunslinging? A: In a gunslinging event you get to challenge someone like myself or Joe Manzo to a battle...win, and get a good prize fig. These are pick-up games and not a tournament in and of themselves per se. Q: "Force Movement", ok? A: We'll be using the 1 Tix = 1 Inch rule...if there is a problem, a judge will use another fig to remeasure the distance...full moves should be within one tix or so when remeasured. Q: Is there anything nearby for my family to do while I'm playing? A: Sure. There are plenty of places to eat, some nearby shopping and a movie theater. There are also some nice malls about 10 or 15 minutes away. Family members who are not participating are welcome to also observe the event and will not need to pay an entry fee. Q: What does the entry fee cover? A: All of the events for the day. I expect to have tons of prizes, including door prizes and random drawings. The fee will go towards paying for the cost of the event. Q: Is there an age limit? A: Absolutely not! If there are enough younger players, we will possibly run an Apprentice event alongside a Master event. We should also have some people on hand that can teach the game to new players. Q: What if my figure is messed up or modified? A: These will be case by case decided by judges. Simple mods like repainted lightsabers would be allowed for example.
I'm not sure if I'm coming yet. SO you might want to put me, 'on the fence'. What exactly is the entrance cost or what are you thinking it to be? What's an attacktix Custom Contest? Is it where we make our own?

Nice! 3 and 1/2 hours is nothing to me! I'll probably be bringing MidnightMajick, himura297, and another non-forum person with me, as long as nothing BIG comes up to foil my plans!

Well, with the amazingly reasonable $10 entry fee, it's confirmed that Mr. and Mrs. YodaBreaker will both be in attendance I just might get Mrs. YodaBreaker into playing with customs involving some of my old figures to have an entry or two in the custom contest.
