I finished my first custom earlier today. I finally got my Barney put together at a friend's house. Unoftunately, I shot off his effect card with a point blank missle, so I'll have to glue that back on, but I got some pictures of him before I shot it off. From the video contest, Barney was a bit scarred and the wax that I couldn't get off, I simply had to paint over. All in all though, now that I've repainted him, he looks great and I especially love the effect card. He's pretty tall compared to other figures, and very heavy (he's fat, and I molded him out of clay). Barney: Cost: 40 points Attacktix Class: Leader Faction: Barney and Friends Base size: small (4cm) Speed: 8, as of right now. I'll probably change it, but he has the same speed as the broken wicket that donated his base. Special: Haven't decided yet Effect (if you can't read it from the pic): Hug: Any of your opponent's figures that make contact with Barney or his base at the end of your turn may not move or attack on your opponent's next turn. You may not "hug" the same figure for two turns in a row. I decided to make him 40 points, even though he has a small base, because he is ultra heavy (he has fat thighs too, so most of the weight is in his lower half), he is very balanced, and he is all but impervious to missles, both big and small, except for a very literally point blank shot to his head, hands, or tail. A point blank shot to a hand or tail (if placed right) can take him out sometimes because he'll spin. It doesn't always work though. What I like about him is his effect (he's my first effect figure too). He can completely immobilize one (or more) of your opponents figures for a turn. In addition, his tail and arms make it easier for him to touch several figures at once. He's going to need a higher speed though, since he doesn't have a direct attack and his effect require figure contact. I'm thinking about twelve tix would be a good speed for him. Overall, he was a fun figure to make, and as soon as I get an opportunity to glue his effect back on (I need to borrow a hot glue gun), then I'll probably actually play some games with him.

"I love you, you love me, we're a happy huggle-bee..." Just the thought of that insipid theme song would make me want to smack the purple off that figure Cute idea!

Evil, just plain evil.. I don't know whether to exalt you for making a figure entirely out of clay or smite you for it being that... creature...

My daughter really likes Barney (she is 3). So I like him too largely because he makes her laugh and giggle and smile. I'll admit that he can get annoying after a while, and I would never watch him by myself, but he has his place, and he doesn't teach her anything bad. so long live Barney.

My daughter has graduated from Barney (she is 4 1/2) to Fairly Odd Parents and Sponge Bob.
Overall, Barney never bothered me. My feelings are the same as Lady's. Anything that makes my daughter feel good and laugh brings me joy.
Just like the other day when she climbed up onto my wife's and I bed, bent over, yelled fire, and farted on my wife. This made my daughter laugh and so it brought me joy. ;D

Ditto to what the Mrs. said, our little girl has brain tumors, so the things the bring her joy are appreciated.
As for the Barney custom, I'd be scared to thing what happens when he is struck...does it just get stuck? With him made of clay I'd think it would be like the blob from x-men and he's almost impervious to that sort of thing. The only sure kill (unless he's unbalanced) we could think of would be Omega Supreme, but that could get ugly.

Well, I baked the clay in the oven before I painted him, and it's pretty hard clay. Missles, unless they're point blank, tend to bounce off of him, even on direct hits. With big missles, he'll shake around a bit. I think he'll play great, and I beleive I gave him a pretty useful special. Any striker can take him down, as can any shooter that gets a point blank shot right under his nose.

That would be cool if his arms were like the emperor's. Then he could really hug!

cool idea/figure.........how do you print effects on the back neatly and get labels with the black background as well as include your own made faction in it? For the labels on the base, I used Malform's all-powerful (almost) label maker. For the effect, I printed it out from the label maker as a base. Then, I know someone who works at a place that makes stickers and adhesives and that sort of thing, so I was able to give the printout to him, and he was able to make clear stickers with white text. Then, I cut out a little rectangularish piece of wood that fit the effect (I traced around the effect on the wood I was cutting from) with a power saw. After a good sanding, I gave it a good paint job to match Barney, stuck it on, and then when I went to a friend's house, I was able to super-glue him all together. Unfortunately, I knocked the effect thing off with a point blank shot, and I need to glue it back on. I wish I had a hot-glue gun, but for some reason my family doesn't have one. I also need to get him a special power. Any ideas? I think I'm going to wait until Malform's updated attacktix database is released and doesn't need access to run until I actually glue an effect on him though.

................too powerful for a nice dinasoaur. Vanquish doesn't seem like Barney's type, if u know what I mean.
Hey Turkish Van, how did you bake the clay to harden? I used modeling clay for my ammo droid, and since it dented when I shot/struck it I "test" baked it and it seemed to be melting instead of hardening. Maybe a special type of clay?
