Does anyone have a "paint pen" or marker that works on figures?

YES. Enamel paint works very well, but STVATT (on the boards) has a specific brand of "Rose Art" Pens that work astonishingly well. PM my dude for the 411 dog! ;D

I've also used Krylon's metal leaf pens to good effect. They have huge tips, but you lay down your metallics first and then paint around them. Wal-Mart has the gold one, but you have to go to a regular hobby store for the silver, copper, red copper, etc.

Well, I'd recommend avoiding non-acrylic modeling paint. The solvent in them can melt some plastics, and I don't know if that list includes plastics used in Attacktix. I mainly use Apple Barrel and similar acrylic paints, since they're cheap and come in a wide variety of colors.
